Hey everyone!
I know many of you are probably new to the game, and as a PC player that plans to play both console and PC, I figured I'd help all of you new players out by offering my expertise on general gameplay and the control wizard class. I'm a guild leader of a decent sized guild on PC (Don't have an XB1 affiliated guild but we are considering it), and a moderator in the NW_Legit_Community channel, which is over 6000 members! I've been playing this game on PC since November 2013, and I participated in the XB1 Closed Beta!
I'd say I'm fairly knowledgeable on this game, so feel free to ask me any questions you have! Post them in this thread, and I'll do my best to answer them in a timely fashion!
Note: If I don't answer your question, please don't take it personally! That simply means one of the three things below:
- I somehow missed your question and didn't see it
- I saw that someone else already provided an adequate answer
- I don't know the answer to your question

2) Is it open world PvP?
3) What kind of game styles are there for PvP? (CTF, FFA, etc..)
4) Do you get experience for PvP'ing?
5) Are there Guild vs Guild matches?
6) What's the benefit of being in a Guild? (Besides having friends, any stat bonuses? items?)
There are open world PVP areas in the Icewind Dale areas, however, they are not being released at launch, but they will be added in at some point
Only one type - Domination.
Yes, you get some experience from PVPing, but it is much faster to level by questing
Nope, not yet. Maybe, someday, but nothing as of right now
Originally, it provided you with an alliance for Gauntlgrym, which is a competition that runs once every 3 hours - Players complete some PVE tasks, then the two sides fight against eachother in 20v20 Domination matches, and whichever side wins more matches would win the battle for gauntlgrym. The winners of the battle would have limited 30 minute access to short dungeons that dropped good loot and special seals (currency). I'm not sure whether this is being released on launch of the game - if it is, it will be changed soon in a future release.

Did you mean YES 1v1 is available?
1vs1 is avaiable in open pvp, if no people around are nice to let you do it. most people are nice.
basically what we are going to have is gaunt trasformed in a 10vs10 pvp and domination 5vs5
3vs3 is in work.
1vs1 is not instanced so you have to find your enemy in a decided zone where free pvp is allowed and fight there
the only official pvp mode right now is 5vs5 which is highly competitive when matchmaking work.
gaunt is now 20vs20 [being changed in 10vs10] but for me its not competitive at all.
this is what is live now and what you are supposed to get. Gaunt should still be 20vs20 for you.
3vs3 is being worked on. some of us could tested during preview testing weeks ago.
happy to see xbox players, at least one, interested in pvp. Maybe devs will decide to give it more love in the future.
There Multiplayer mode is just so redundant it bored me by the 3rd go around at the same 3 dungeons..
I hope the open world PVP is a lot of fun in this game
Well... everyone has their own opinions, but it was a major failure on PC.

Kind of - but most of us had some extremely enjoyable moments there. Sometimes while doing dailies i got stuck there for like 1 hour with great pleasure - or even made some new friends.
Just saying - he may wants to answer general game mechanic questions and stuff and not xbox1 specific technical stuff.
I tried this on XB1 during the beta and it didn't work. Unless there's been a change, it won't. You can use the Xbox Smartglass app on a mobile device or windows 8 computer as a keyboard, that was the best solution for me.

I don't mind some technical questions, but I'm no expert on the Xbox one technical side of things!

That's something I can't tell you off the top of my head, remember, I'm a PC player new to the Xbox thing as well, but you can probably find it out by looking in the options menu and seeing what the controls are, I'm sure there are settings to change them in there that will list what everything is currently bound to.

You wont be able to change stance until level 10
Ah, I hadn't even thought of that. It makes sense, as the tutorial should explain how to do it once it is unlocked.

They are permanently yours to keep or sell/trade for AD, other items, gear, etc. On PC, they can be worth quite a lot of Astral Diamonds, which is the main currency in the game. However, I don't think anybody on XB1 has enough AD to afford the full value of one yet if they were to buy/trade it...
