At first I figured it might be a hack or something, but I don't know. Anyway, what I am talking about is that I am in a party with my significant other doing dailies around the Sword Coast when all of a sudden some random hunter ranger (pretty sure it was the same guy both times, not going to name him as that is against TOS) automatically joins my party. One time it was while we were waiting the 5 seconds to enter a lair together. I kicked him quickly both times, but my question is:
Is there a way to insta join someone's party without having to have the party leader accept, or is this possibly a cheat?

set your party permissions to refuse any incoming invites.
He's not inviting me. I'm already in a party with one other. He's joining my party that I am leader of and no windows pops up saying he's requesting to join.

Nay, you're just set to open teaming and allowing automatic joining into your party. All they're doing is seeing you in the online local list, right clicking your name, and then requesting to join your party. You can change this in the social menu so that you either decline requests, automatically allow requests, or have to approve them each time. I might be getting confused on this last part though: you might have to be in a party already to access these options in the party tab of the social screen.
Changed your subject line to something more appropriate.

Huh, learn something new. Granted I've never done much teaming in the open world is probably a big part of it.

that has been possible since beta.
right click your own name, and set the party to reject invites.

There is definitely something a bit odd with this and it is not just that party option. My settings do not allow people to automatically join yet 3 or 4 times now I have had it happen. Every occurrence has been whilst entering a dread ring lair and in every case I have already been in a party of two people. I think there is a teeny bug there somewhere. Maybe something to do with a not-full party entering a lair at the exact same time as a solo person? Only once have I had any response from the stranger who ended up in my party and he was very confused and said he had not requested to join. The others did not speak to me so I kicked them. I didn't report it as a bug because I was not able to reproduce it or offer very much information about how it happened. To put it in context, I have done those dread lairs several hundred times so it is not exactly a common occurrence.

Thanks. It was late and I was tired when I made this thread ^_^.

What the original poster is describing is another thing entirely: Open Grouping.
For what you're describing, it sounds like your Social - Preferences are set for "Looking For Party + Auto Teaming" - when this is on, what you described will happen for instances for players that have "Auto Teaming" enabled, which is not part of the Team settings but part of your character's personal Social settings.
You can also just type
/Request name@handle
and if that person is the party leader, it'll let you in. Unless the leader sets it to closed party (which, by default, most don't).
It's also a great way to get around "can't invite you to party" bug.
I think it was not that simple, Zeb. I know about that setting and it is set to "I am an antisocial sod".
On each occasion I'm 100% certain that I was the leader and that I formed the party. I know this because myself and a friend do a dread ring lair almost every day and it is always me that invites him, just through habit. And that guy who ended up in our party was adamant that he had not invited himself to join us. But it is not a biggie because it is so rare.If it happens again I will try to gather more information.

This is actually the default setting, which it can take a long time to notice because not really all that many people will just presumptuously join your group.
And of course if you play with friends, the party settings will defer to whichever of you is leader, so everyone needs to make sure the group is closed if the same person doesn't do the inviting every single time.
