I wouldn't be shocked if lizard squad is behind it
Typical. Social media before official game forums. Makes perfect sense.
Irritating as it is (especially for those of us who don't use social media), most people are logged in to Facebook/Twitter all the time and check it before they'll ever check a game forum. You'd think they could post here first and just link it on social media though....

Ed Greenwood and other FR writers: These 4e changes to the Realms are stupid, the fans will hate them.
Wizards of the Coast: Fourth Edition is going to revolutionize the game! We're updating the Realms to match it!
Ed: Don't do it. They're gonna hate it, we're warning you!
Wizards: Did it!
Fans: WTF did you morons do to D&D and the Realms?!? WE HATE THIS!
Ed: Told you. C'mon guys, let's figure out a way to fix all the stupid Wizards pulled...
Pretty much. The lore and events of the realms are back in the hands of Ed, Salvatore, and other notable authors. All is well one again, the Third Sundering has been told and come to pass. Behold, the Realms we do adore.
Well, I needed to quit procrastinating on a research project and do some housecleaning anyway. I guess this is a good reason to actually do something productive and play later.
Also I'm pretty sure it's not a good idea to link to a group's webpage that sells DDoS attack software, but I dunno the forum rules on that as well as I should....

Yeah, I'm probably gonna regret it, but too late now....
I am he post from under yours, and yep having this issues and nope just been over the forum and NONE of their idea's to help fix it are working.
You probably didn't see the post because of how fast the thread is moving, but it's a huge problem affecting all their games -- not just you. They're working on a fix.

Plenty of software out there to load test webservers, have used them before to test server setups. Would hardly make a difference to the sever coming from one source on the net. This kinda rate limiting is done on the network/firewall side as common practice.

Hey guys, we're looking into the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.
From experience, developers, engineers, and system administrators do not like being pestered for updates by customer service people or customers; they want to do their jobs without interruption. Expect the issue to be fixed when it is fixed, but not frequent and timely updates to make you feel better. It's just the way it is.

If it's like any company, they have different people managing social media and the official forums.
And the time between the tweet and the official post was about 4 minutes.
I don't think the normal people are here, Heyrogers is the one talking to us, not Akro or Dwight

It's New Year's Eve and they're human like the rest of us. Give them a break.

yes, they are humans, but all those responses they give, it's like they have a bind or something.
i found them repetitive, just analyze the text.
