I've done less than 5 dungeon runs in the past few months.
I remember how hard CN was in the past (before artifacts and stuff), now it's so ridiculously easy it's not even fun.
you should add option Invoker, thats about all i do, and dont see much reason to do anything more at least til mod6(except getting the new set and carpal tunnel syndrome using all the leadership ad on refining my stuff)
dungeons dont drop anything useful and pvp is trash
pvp is a pile of broken **** and only 2 boring maps
pve has no challenge nor reward, before everybody and their mother started farming dragon hoard it was more profitable to just run farm foundries, it was more challenging as well, also devs clearly favor certain classes for pve
Both.
My pve char is grinding is gs up rather than pve-ing really.
For the pvp char it has more diversity. Domination is tossing coin (did the RNG put me into the 20k team or the 10k team), Gauntl is running with the wolves and being there when the base turns blue, IWD is bringing a pickaxe and a dozen major injury kits.
It's not even the matchmaking.. I understand the system, I can live with it. it's the attitude of my opponents that I can't stand. I can take the usual banter. But if you haven't spent 15k $ and have R10/perfects/legendary you get called things I'm not allowed to repeat on the forums. That lack of mutual respect for eachother is what kills it for me.
I understand you.
If you allow me to add to your post dear friend. This is what annoys people as well.
- Halfling CW's with the Wizard Hat that jump over undergeared people's bodies when they kill them.
- Cocky/Arrogant HR's that beat anything 1v1 and say some nasty comments to the defeated person afterwards, they know HR is broken and can beat anything, so they permit themselves to say such comments.
I think PvP in this game is not catered towards the more casual players anymore.
I started off this game doing mainly PvE contents back in mod 1, but still quite enjoy the occasional PvP as I can hold my own and not be crushed. But right now the gap between top players and average players is too big. If there's some sort of scaling system with the power difference, I'm sure there will be more people that will enjoy PvP more after they've try it out and feel like they can be somewhat competitive.
I've always done (or grind) PvE as a fuel for my PvP gear, and I find gearing up each of my chars to be very enjoyable. It is unfortunate that new players won't get to enjoy this same experience.
Have the gear and skills, but lack the friends to play with? Come and apply for Essence of Aggression. We have been here and strong since beta. (Immature, rude, and arrogant people will not be accepted)
I tried to like PVE, I really did. I've always wanted a REAL dungeon, where you explore... feel the suspense.. watch out for traps (Not walk on them and lose 500 HP), etc etc.
There is no challenge whatsoever... so I went to PVP and didn't look back, but even PVP is meh these days.
Beta player
One of the many Control Wizards that misses Shard Of The Endless Avalanche. RIP Shard (Beta-Mod3)
I play 90% pvp, for me it's where the real challenge is. Although its a bit ridiculous now with all the new gear.
Pve just seems half done for me. The dungeons are all one way, boring and just same old thing over and over. I would prefer some exploring with hidden parts, real traps and other ways to get loot apart from just fighting the bosses, like good items having a chance to drop from normal monsters and out of chests. Wouldn't be a bad idea with all the new gs rise.
I voted both. But I'm gravitating more towards PvE nowadays. I enjoyed PvP much in Open Beta and first 2 modules. But with tenacity something happened to players' attitude. Now it feels like a gamble for pug gamer I always have been: you either will get matched with cool dudes who are there for fun or with some psychotic, offensive, win-hungry bishes, who'll ruin the experience. Guess division between pvp and pve geared players created a gap and divided community into two separate worlds of which one stinks incredibly of arrogance and elitism (with all due respect to level-headed pvpers).
Bids he then the spruces to singer him an anthems!
And the Woodsie Lord binders them fleshes to stone!

I agree with more interesting dungeons. Back when a lot dungeons have bugs and glitches, it was actually quite fun learning about them and trying the mario bros jumps. These were all stuff that most people knew about already as well, and I find it more challenging than any PvE content we have right now. So maybe some dungeons that requires some jumping skills (whether they have to or to save time) would be more enjoyable than just melting bunch of mobs and dodge anything that's red.

I did only PvE for quite a few weeks when I started, were the good times before mod 1 was even announced Did't touch PvP until I had full HV set, learned PvP the hard way, by pugging alone and accepting 1vs1s against much more experienced/geared players. Will never forget the first time I fully facetanked Duelist's Flurry and got laughed at, was such a nab lol.
After I got into PvP, I only did PvE to see new content or get gear/boons that I needed, although I still farmed CN for a while as it was still somewhat feasible. While the glyphs were in their buggy state I did mostly PvE this mod, as in duo/trio shared CN runs - gave up, as some runs we got items worth 30K AD...
So I would say that I do mostly PvP, except the state of the game has been harsh to my friendlist and guild, to the point where if I do PvP (happens more and more rarely...), I pug alone and rarely have the opportunity to premade, as not enough people are online. Pugging is an extremely frustrating experience for me and I completely hate it.
I would have said pve for the longest time. It used to be a really chill thing to do with a little bit of challenge. I used to play when finished with or not mentally up for other games. Anyway the challenge kind of went away and then we went dps racing to get ad (when that was doable) and then that fell apart due to the rewards crumbling/got boring. Was hoping tyranny and the next thing would have some challenge. They don't. So pve is just helping no gears get gear but I don't do that much because they feel like side characters when I do all the damage, tank it and heal myself. I've soloed occasionally but like once you make your build right that isn't exactly hard either.
Anyway my main mostly does pvp now. Open world or domination. Its kind of bad at the best of times but its not exactly mentally challenging so in that respect its like pve used to be. Higher chance of losing but there's not much you can do but laugh at the game. I play a class that's bad at pvp and that can straightforward not fight 2 other ones alone ever and will probably die to another 2. Can beat up on sws and dcs or be at the back.
That or I do stuff with the gateway while in the lobby of another game. That is a kind of gaming.
I'm pretty much casual after I've got most of the good items. Now I see no absolute reason to have a hard focus on either of these in a F2P game like this.

LOL! That is a great suggestion. There some days that all I do is my daily invoking.

Mostly PvE because of latency. Perhaps I'd PvP more if there was EU server, not sure though, PvP in this game isnt that great.
Thats quite odd ppl talk so much about PvP on mod5 preview, while vast majority plays PvE.
it's not odd, it is just pvp by other means. when classes are changing, try to influence the devs to nerf the other classes in your favor. just as good as winning a pvp match!

Oh well. It is what it is.

Pretty much. I stopped PvPing when it stopped ever being a fun or positive experience. I used to enjoy it.
