lol guys who kicked you surely took this event too seriously like it was some sort of hard T2 dungeon or something...
Seriously, after 5-10 runs I picked up all reppeling powers just to have fun and kill enemies slower so they'll be coming constantly but it seems that shield repel can crit for 20k and ice storm for 20k-30k....
nontheless kicking someone from this CTA for using anything is just bogus, enemies will not come faster if you kill others faster
I hear all this talk about "speed runners" and I think you are missing the point. Yes, in some cases its ALL about speed. But if that was the sole case. There would be more talk about lower level players being kicked, for simply being lower level players. So its not really, about the speed of the run, as it is the annoyance factor.
To put it bluntly, I like to drive. I don't like to drive in traffic.
As long as everyone is playing their part. I could care less if its a 10 minute run or a 15 minute one. You still, at least, feel like you are moving forward. But put in someone playing for themselves and not the group, and it becomes a traffic jam. and with that all notion and perception of progress go away.

(They probably try to open Mimic chests in dungeons, too.)
I love opening mimics! I am not sure why people don't like opening them, especially since they sometimes (albeit rarely) drop r4 enchants. Probably the DM in me though, I just love mimics. I do always ask first or give some warning when opening them.
Yes, he did. VERY improperly. He blew the enemy OUT of danger multiple times after being asked not to do so. So, he was a danger to his Team Mates and an ignorant swine to boot, and so quite rightly kicked.
I have been doing CTAs for 12 to 15 hours a day over four days since the Orc Assault one (I started in February, 2014). I always vote NO when Elitist PvP tossers want to kick someone with a low gear score or a low level, even when that level is 45. the Leader can kick without a vote, but a non-leader can call for a vote; at least in those days.
One time, we were all level 60 doing Defend the Temple and we had a Halfling Thief female at level 6! It was so funny and cute watching her jumping and slashing, doing absolutely sod all damage and pulling no threat as she might as well have been a fly on a rhinocerous' back. But it was actually a lot of fun for my DC to defend her and heal her when she did get hurt. She is just as entitled to get to the chest reward and pick up Rank 4 Enchant drops on the way as the rest of us.
But being an absolute, deliberate hindrance to the party through sheer pig-headedness?
OUT!

I love how elitists pug then expect a perfict team. While I agree no one should be useing any prones what so ever in a cta I will never kick someone because of that nore would I put them on ignore.
If you want to do speed runs don't pug just like in dungeons.
being party leader says absolutely nothing, I repeat, NOTHING about your game knowledge.
I guess you're right - rising 108 levels purely through Blacklake Terror and Invocations with 12 characters over six months means I know absolutely nothing about how that skirmish works
And seeing my Daunting Light hit bare ground and a possible Crit damage of up 30,000 going to waste because a CW or GWF had knocked the target out of the way AGAIN means I know nothing about the game.
And playing AD&D since 1979 means I know absolutely nothing about AD&D game mechanics and what co-operative party play means.
if you run a Pvorpal and Pbark just for those skirmishes, I have nothing to comment that wouldn't get deleted by a mod.
<snip>? I am not running Perfect anything. I WANT a Perfect Vorpal and a Perfect Soulforged for my Battle Cleric. THAT is why I do the Dailies. I do the CTA skirmish as I wanted to be able to raise my Rank 6 Cruel to Rank 7 and one of my Rank 7s to Rank 8. They are on a different character entirely, but I do the Skirmishes with my Main which has a Greater Plague Fire and a Rank 8 Soulforged as the Medallions of Battle get pooled so I can buy 50 Refiner's Caches. After Orc Assault, I had a huge number of Aquamarines and Rank 4 enchants out of that. But when you are playing with <snip>, you get about 10 medallions from the chest instead of 17 to 20. Same reason I open lockboxes with the same character, so the Trade Bars are pooled and I can use them for Coalescent Wards.
Are you sure you have any idea how the CTA and refining works at all?
But I guess you are right again. Knowing what the AD price is of the most expensive weapon and armour enchants at the AH means I know nothing about the game, or how to farm events.
And I suppose knowing that you should do as the Party Leader says if you do not want to get kicked means that I don't know that the Party Leader can kick you without a vote if you ignore him or her.
Just as I don't know that ignoring the Leader and ruining the event for everyone is the antithesis of co-operative party play.

I used to hate people opening Mimics, as they used to be so deadly. Now, I don't really care.
In fact, during Storm the Keep, I would post in a dozen languages "MIMIC ON THE RIGHT" and after a dozen times of being ignored started kicking people who woke him up as it slowed everything down so much, got someone killed and meant we lost the diamonds in the chest as the Skirmish timed out by 10 seconds.
Plus, it meant I earned XP I did not want, as I wanted to be able to keep doing the faster Skirmish events for as long as possible.
I never used to have so little patience with <snip>, but after playing this game for six months, it has brought out the Grumpy Old Crock in me.

You are not alone! They make me giggle far too much.
I was kicked from two CTA right before the death of the boss (not sure if they thought there was loot or if they were trying to deliberately grief. It was the whole party except the leader kicked and I did report it but I don't know if that does any good). Just be sure to take note of the leader each time in case this happens to others.
If you do not want to get kicked, DO AS THE PARTY LEADER SAYS.

Yes, because it's totally worth it to ruin the experience of a brand new player in his/her very first skirmish if it means depriving you of a couple thousand AD in fake money. /sarc

Honestly you guys a sound like a lot of whiny jerks. Kicking anyone who is trying their hardest is messed up, period. Maybe people using repel is an added challenge, they are damaging the enemy afterall. I have played through the cta about 30 times and never been annoyed by anyone. Why don't YOU think of the other players for once? People of all ages play this game.
I think the proper title would have been, "kicked from CTA for using annoying powers?" That reflects the real debate. You could have used any powers other then the knockback ones, and I doubt that group would have kicked you. You could have sat and at-will'd without using any powers and I doubt that group would have kicked you.

If you are asked to not do something, and you don't comply, in group content, you are being a troll. This applies to all ages, playstyles, or level of effort.
had a gwf lvl 60 in CTA using repel ##$% of gf making me miss every time
I just sit and wait when he repels the target to come back,he was repeling the target then chase it.realy waw
and the CTA took longer too finish, because we where the only 60's the others where 30's
sometimes ppl have to use some common sense
I am a gwf and I know how it feel when a party member repel a target
Our skirmish leader just kicked a 34th lvl CW for trolling Repel. He was asked repeatedly to stop using it and then he started doing it as melee class were just winding up their attacks - deliberate trolling and he deserved the kick.
Normally not in favour of kicking anyone, but this was deliberate as the timing was too perfect.
