Just recently came back to this game after a few mo absence.
Unfortunately I notice that the group builder does not seem to work (some say it is bugged) and people are looking for group members manually.
I do not like joining manually because it does not transport you to the place and also does not take you back to where you left off.
The group builder works, sort of. The problem is it always want to build groups with GF + DC + 3 dps.
And since GF/DC are rare, the group builder seldom succeeds in setting up groups. The group builder do not understand(like the players do) that you can have a GWF for tank, or that in some dungeons a tank and healer is not really required.
As for your point about transport: What you usually do is to pre-form a 5-man group, and THEN join the queue. Since the group is already full the group builder wil just send you to the instance right away.

Eh? If you queue as a group it's the same as solo queuing.
You can walk into heroic dungeons via the door, which does as you describe, but if you're eligible to queue it works the same way regardless (some epics are bugged and dump you at the zone entrance rather than your point of origin when you leave, but this is a bug).
You main problem with solo queuing for a dungeon is that the game will insist your party of randoms include one GF and one DC, neither of whom might be queuing for that dungeon at that time, particularly the GF since it's not a popular class. It's not bugged, just restrictive.
