So I returned to see what was happening in this game. I wanted to see what was new and if there had been any improvements.

What I got was a disappointment. Mainly with the practices with the shop.

Everyone likes getting free things and after I uploaded some Zen into the store so I could do respecs with my HR I noticed the store said it had a free bag of goodies that one gets in 24 hour period. I waited and the next day it still was not there.

So I posted a support ticket, and low and behold what did I get back as a response. They were of course sorry that this item wasn't sent to be but they couldn't help me. The brackets inside their message about the item itself said this (Excluding Steam transactions) Now had I known that little tidbit I wouldn't have used steam to make the purchase but as it wasn't anywhere in the shop interface NOT to use steam no one knows about it ahead of time. Now keep in mind this is nowhere on the shop for the bag of goodies I'm talking about, all it states is "this item is mailed to you within 24hrs of transferring 500 Zen to the store".

This is shady imo. You need to give everyone all of the info up front about these things before they make these purchases. There's another thing that bothers me. Who cares how the money gets there, you get money from steam purchases too. I don't see the difference. It's a transfer. It's not like I went to PWE's website, logged into my STO lifetime account got my free Zen from that account and transferred it into this game, I paid real money for the Zen I bought this weekend. I'm seriously tempted to write this title off for good after experiencing this.

But I can tell you this, if anyone else had this issue this weekend, I can see why this game is getting it's reputation for terrible economic practices when this kind of thing is allowed to happen by management.

    I don't know where you are talking about.
    The pages I see / have seen all say quite clearly that Steam purchases do not count for the 1st time buyer pack.
    What exact website / page were you looking at?
    Don't blame them for your inability to fully read the promotion.

    The in-game Zen store itself fails to mention this. And it so happens that many players never look at anything outside the game interfaces until after they have a problem.

    Yes, promotions exclude STEAM wallet. It doesn't tell you in-game, only if you ever bother to hit the link jumps on the launcher and read the promotions thoroughly.

    Bring this case up to PWE will not help players who use STEAM exclusively. Bring this up to STEAM support instead, there's been too many threads started on this topic and players who thought they were going to get rewarded and spent through STEAM wallet.

    What could happen is STEAM adding a clause to PWE games to inform players about promotion exclusions or stopping wallet support for PWE's games so players won't have to waste money unnecessarily.

    I'm hoping for the latter since if PWE wants the extra revenue source, they should not discriminate because on the player's end, they pay the same amount.

    Closing his down now. Please use Support and Private Messages to discuss issues with Billing instead of ranting about a company and calling them names and other despairs. There is never a reason to be rude and demeaning when having discussions and giving feedback.
