Anyone noted this?

"Protectors Jubilee

Lord Neverember has declared a grand jubilee to celebrate an amazing year for the city of Neverwinter. It's even said the famous wizard Elminster has arrived in the city to gain the aid of its many heroes."

And this pics?

Yes, you are seeing well. Epic 0 speed mount.

    I hope that mount can be used in indoor areas at least.

    Because it is not a real mount, you just sit there... such a great prize... for an anniversary.

    I think it's just a static throne that works like a mount, unlike the Snow Sled of the Winter event. You "mount" the throne and just sit there - doing professions, whatnot.l I suppose. I saw that description last week and figured they are just waiting to update the description, then this thread (and OP comment) got me to thinking. Either way: Epic Throne, 0% Speed. Love it.

    I just checked the Events collections page in Gateway and there it is

    Yeah it's neither on preview or live which is weird , maybe todays patch will add it to the live collection tab, thanks for the info about gateway , I just wanted to see if it was a full armor transmute set which it is so hopefully we will start getting more .

    Iron Throne. Well given the IWD area is basically a massive ripoff of GoT anyway, it would stand to reason. I even saw a guy named "Jamie Lannister" with the title "Kingslayer" running around there one time.

    I am serious, and yes. But, I'm also familiar with the Song of Ice and Fire... Can't really say about the show, don't watch it, but I have read the books, and there are PLENTY of similarities.

    Wildlings = Barbarians
    Blue Eyed Wights = Blue Eyed Wights
    Giants = Giants
    East Watch by the Sea = Caer Konig
    Ice Bears = Polar Bears
    Dire Wolves = Winter Wolves

    Don't recall anything about Yetis in the books... and so far there aren't any mammoths in IWD. In particular, though, the Wights, Barbarians and Giants (particularly that one sitting around drinking...) in IWD bear an awful big resemblance.

    By the way, is the GL of your guild named "R'hllor" -- should be :)

    The Savage frontier was published in 1988 and detailed the whole Icewind dale area (no idea if any mention of IWD before that in D&D lore or sourcebooks) , Game of thrones book 1 was first published in 1996.

    umm really?

    Barbarians - staple in DND settings
    Giants - staple in DND
    Caer Konig - its about as a generic as a fishing town as you can get really, again nothing really unique here that isn't anywhere else
    Polar Bears/Winter Wolves - what would you expect in a frozen tundra setting?

    Oh...kay.

    Icewind Dale, the monster types, the setting... all of this is long-established D&D lore. There is no stealing going on from other fantasy literature source material, because there's a crapton of source material to draw on that they already have the rights to use.

    Icewind Dale has existed long before the D&D novels were ever written and before the Game of Thrones novels too. Check out source material as I can easily date mentions of IWD back to at least 1988 but probably even longer if you look into dragon magazines and other source material publications. Novels and PC Games are just a small fraction of the Realm's material available for history and lore and most all of it predates Game of Thrones, as awesome as that show and novels are.

    There's an actual Iron Throne (not made of swords though) far to the East in Rashemen beyond Thay and in the country bordering The Simbul's Aglorand and this surely predates the GoT novels. Keep in mind, The Realms history was created many many years ago when Ed Greenwood was a child through to adult-hood, evolving along the way.

    Icewind Dale dates back before Wizards of the Coast took over, in the time of TSR when Ed and other Authors held a firm grip on what happened to their worlds and characters. I am glad to know Ed is firmly back on his Iron Throne again however, governing the direction our beloved Realms.
