So far the modules have always been PVE centric, and personally I don't think they'll release a new module with "some PVE token" content only.
Again, just my personal opinion, I don't think any of us know enough about the upcoming module yet.

Of course, this is not on the test server yet so this is pure speculation

Unfortunately the chicken little's will run around claiming the sky is falling simply on speculation. I am predominantly PvE oriented, but I have no problem with OPTIONAL PvP.... Currently that means doing my PvP dailys and then back to PvE for the rest of my playing time. I hope that any PvP content in the new module will be optional/opt-in however I am not overly concerned at this point unless I see proof that it is set up to force PvP in order to get any benefit from icewind dale. I don't consider having to try and avoid a fully PvP geared adhd ten year old camping the area in order to get something needed for my toons! If it is optional then fine, I may even participate from time to time.

They have already said you won't have to PvP to get to the PvE content in the module.

so far there has only been 2 modules released, pve, understandable for a pve game.
for a pve game that you can maxout so fast, there really is very little pve to keep players coming back.

The concern is if they place something needed or farmable only in a PvP area, That is what I mean by 'forced'. But as said, not enough actual facts out yet to worry me, time enough for that when We have something solid to go off.

You're such a rabble rouser. Every post you've made is, as Ebony suggested, "the sky is falling." Its either ALL PVE ALL THE TIME, F#$% EVERYONE ELSE or nothing with you. There's a reason I have been avoiding this topic and I'll be sure not to come back because I can't stand when people act in the manner with which you are acting.

Mod 3 is a PVP oriented expansion. There will be PVE updates as well. Deal with it.

the sky is falling? ****, need a new umbrella
the problem; the only info we have from cryptic is all concerning pvp portions. not much info for pve, so yes specualtion will happen, until they communicate to us.
but it really sounds like more dailies will be our token gift for pve.

i have not once told anyone to F#$% EVERYONE ELSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have said, time and again they do not mix
that resources are taken away from one to appease the other (robbing peter to pay paul).
specualtion on the info they have released, sure looks like its gonna be pvp orriented content.
i have not called anyone out, i have not called anyone names, i have not insulted anyone!
i have though been voicing why i feel this will be a pvp centric module.

Sounds to me like there will be at least as much PVE content as the other modules, with some PVP content thrown in to boot. Sounds like a win-win to me.

Of course that's speculation. But we'll be finding out soon enough.

the silence from the cryptic concerning this is not a smart move specualtion will grow until they explain there sudden push for more pvp.

The module will be on Mimic for us all to try very soon, maybe within the next few days.

    Sigh.

wow so much venom on both sides.

Can't we all just get along?

Unless you work for cryptic you don't know if Mod 3 is PVP PVE or equally focused, even the mods don't have all the details yet, so please stop saying this is fact and demanding that others deal with it...it just makes you look silly.

I do both, and I am all for a MMO that balances PVE with PVP...unfortunately Cryptic has a less than stellar track record of doing that and I don't see that changing. Honestly even if this module turns out to be PVP centric it's probably going to be the only bone that is seen for years, I personally think the module will have elements of both and won't be a love letter to any one play style, but time will tell.

hasn't it already been specified that the next module after this one is focusing on Foundries (or was that Mod 5). At the very least it shows that they are not changing to fully PVP centric so I am not sure what all the fuss is about.

For the last time, while module 3 is focused on PVP, Neverwinter is primarily a PVE game and they won't put vital boons/PVE content behind a PVP wall. There will be PVE content to farm. It might not be as efficient as doing PVP in this module but it will be there. Cryptic has already said this as Dardove stated.

I looked around, but my Google-fu failed me. I also remember reading an interview that stated that Foundry improvements would be a major focus of a future module.

Haven't they been saying that about the Foundry from Open Beta but never given any specifics?

yeah i thought it was one of the Dev's here but when I looked at the dev tracker I wasn't able to find it. It could have been one of the Green names but I am not sure where exactly it was.

I don't mind the pvp focus, as long as the permanent stat upgrades (like the boons from older campaigns) arnt gated behind pvp. This would be a huge dis-service to the pve community. I hope VERY strongly, this black ice thing you have to pvp over is not a 'requirement' for maxing out your character.

I also hope either a new race, or new class will be introduced. As one should be every module.
Thats the mentality of MOBA's and FPSs, gear advantages are very much a part of MMO pvp.

It's about time. Some pvp content was badly required. I don't understand why some people seem to hate pvp so much. There's nothing wrong with playing against a smarter opponent instead of killing your 1500th spider queen. PvP isn't enjoyable only if you don't intend to improve your character, get better at playing the game, and don't take part to any social activities (because guilds will pull you into pvp at some point), which just means MMOs aren't for you if that's what you do.

So much hatred for PVPers. Its quite disgusting the shear level of selfishness people display.

This, and the pretty bad insults. People who enjoy pvp are all griefers or have no real life, etc. Pathetic. But the average anti pvp drama.

I think what people are fearing is being FORCED into PvP, either by exclusive rewards given by PvP (seems it won't happen) or, much worse, by having to play in a World PvP area, something that we have known for 10 years that doesn't work.

The thing is no matter what is available in the PVP section of the zone no player is forced to participate.

If you dont want to pvp than do not pvp. It can't get any more simple than that.

being forced into PVP is one concern yes, even if they say otherwise.
as it is now, though its not "forced" it is sure got REAL close to being "needed"
dailies pvp, GG, just for AD, and we all know how we need ad. not forced pvp, but real **** close.
gear, that artifact real nice go run 2 days of pvp and get a shiny new artifact, yet on the pve side, go grind and pray for eternity, because its not something you can "earn" its a die roll for every other artifact after our first. now pvp gear, why do the pvp players get shiny new and sepperate gear?
so ya, forced pvp, is a concern, and its already getting close.
just because you don't "have too", doesn't mean that the incentive is getting so high that its almost stupid NOT too.

so what is the difference from what you saying compared to "forcing" PVP'ers to do PVE. Pretty much every example you just gave can have an exact duplicate for PVP player who doesn't want to run PVE but is "forced" to do so because "the incentive is getting so high that its almost stupid NOT too. "

The one main difference i see is we dont get a weekly thread complaining that I have to run the PVE content.

Working the AH, doing high rank dungeons in PvE for gear farming, merchanting, leadership/prayer (possibly on multiple characters), ect. are by far all better methods than PvP for AD. Do you really think the people that get perfect or rank 8+ enchants did it by getting single digit thousand amounts of AD per day from PvP dailies/glory cash ins? I only play the game for PvP and have to say PvP is by far the worst way to make money in the game compared to what you can achieve from PvE. This is why I am motivated to actually get involved in PvE or AH or merchanting rather than just PvP 24/7.

Also running the one dungeon from GG that only requires one portion (PvE or PvP) to be completed for coins is perfectly viable for "coin farming" which does not force you into PvP as you have stated.

You can run either dungeon in GG without setting foot in PVP. I got three runs in DK last night without doing it.

Something you could spend your time on. It's in russian, but you can take the visuals anyway :)

    Shortly:

    - Black Ice is used for upgrade common epic items drop from new bosses and instances into T2 and T3, and craft enchantments
    - Every 6 hours your gear loses it's bonuses unless you feed it with Black Ice
    - New profession the same as event professions has 3 levels
    - You can take any fraction once in 2 hours by receiving a contract

May be I'll update it with some more information (may be tomorrow), it's late at night in my city right now :)
