edited March 2014 in General Discussion (PC)
There are a number of features to customise your characters in the game from costumes to companions. We spend so much time playing our characters it is no wonder why it is such an important apect of the game to so many people.
What type of character customisation content would you most like to see expanded?

Please feel free to expand your votes with words. For instance if you vote for costumes say what specific costume(s) would interest you most.

Edited for Clarity: votes should be cast for cosmetic options only.

I didn't see it on here so I voted other, but I would like more size customization options. Basically, just copy the "costume editor" from the foundry into the character creator.

The reason I didn't list size and scaling options is because sizes are preset to be within a range appropriate for the races to prevent wacky creations. It is the same reason color palettes are limited.

Having a truly fat option rather than bulky would be interesting in my opinion, though.

I would also love to have a true costume editor such as the foundry offers for your character but that is a bit more ambitious than I wanted to push for with this poll. ;)

None of that interests me. I'd be happy playing stick figures.

I guess keeping the scaling and coloring close to what it is now might be necessary so we don't have people making elves into evistros along with other, even weirder, possibilities available in the foundry. Changing the size at least would be nice though, I still want to build Vlathis from my foundry quests. You can't really get that unreasonable with the size editor in the foundry, the smallest would probably be a child of the starting race and the largest really is just a very large character, but not really a giant or anything like that.

MORE hair options. Theres at least 3 hairs model ingame that arent available as an option to player character, one of em is really nice and can be seen in DR all around in the female guards. :/

I see no "new equipment" option. Too bad. I don't mind fashion items, but transmuting gear is something i always consider. Why is there a hair choice in that poll instead of gear is beyond my understanding...

I would like to see armor and weapon transmute packs offered in the Zen store - something like unique armor and weapon appearance that you can't get anywhere else. They would need to come in 2 varieties - ones that share a common appearance across all classes, (like pirate armor that looks the same no matter what class you actually are), and ones that are very specific to each class - like ninja armor for TRs and HRs, but samurai armor for GFs or GWFs.

I'd also like to see the ability to hide shirts and pants, dye companions, and dye our mounts.

Lastly, I'd like a concerted effort to be taken to better allow hair with helmets/hoods.

The developers already know that. :p

Everything will get worked on over time. The point of this is to help the developers determine where they might want to prioritize content development.

For instance, if mounts are the least voted option in this poll they may choose to focus a bit more on other cosmetic options rather than more mounts. Of course I am not saying the results are promissory but we can hope it will give the developers food for thought. :)

    Ditto!

That said, since I had to choose one of the list, I chose Companion, but that was barely over Mount.

I would SOOOOOOO love for my GF to have my Paladin Ghost Companion in full Tormite Battle Kit matching my characters Color Scheme, and a Destrier with my Tormites GF's Colored Livery to match.

Heck, I would like for Companions to be able to ride a Mount too. Paladin Ghost Companion Riding A Skeletal Horse in full Tormite Livery = AWESOME Sauce!

Agreed, and in addition to the Zen Store, in place of the mostly worthless Seal merchants wares.

make the Zen store "Free to Transmute", the Seal Merchants "Half-Priced Transmute" and the other sources "Normal Price Transmute"

I picked Clothing/Armor Dyes because whats the point of more transmute when Im already stuck with a very limited amount of color options. I've seen the color palette of the foundry and that alone would give some nice color options.

Hell, if they don't want to bother adding a bunch of different color bottles to the zen store then just make it so that when you buy a bottle you can pick any color from the palette.

More fashions would be nice too. That's probably the thing I miss most about PWI ironically, all the different fashions they and since they were 5 piece outfits you really had some great customization options. It was very rare that I ever used all 5 pieces from the same outfit to make my outfits.

Seriously, cryptic just needs to steal the way PWI deals with fashions and colors.

I went with Dyes too. I really wish that appearance would be completely separated from function. I really want my fighter to have plain looking, traditional armor, colored the way I want it.. No loin drapes and frills. One of the things I do not like about this game. My mage would never choose to wear garb with stars and moons and twinklies all over it. It wouldn't be a perfect fit here, but the best customization system I ever used was in Champions Online. I don't want to make my human look like a lizard man, but I sure would love to make him look like a fighter who believed more in the simple protection of his armor than how frilly it is.

There's a couple of hair pieces in the Foundry such as Valindra's Hair. It's long and one of them is blowing in the wind........I want those added. Plus more hair colors.......I want purple hair.

Purple hair is there. Maybe just not the shade you want. My Tiefling has purple hair. It is common among her race.

Edit: Ahh.. lol didn't know that. Thanks for the info, Ambisinisterr. (in next post)

All hair colors, as with all color palettes, are race limited at this time.

Purple hair is a color option for tieflings because tieflings can naturally have purple hair but the rest of the races can't naturally have purple hair.

I cast my vote hoping that some expansion of these items bring more usable combinations of the provided buffs.

I'm thinking I'd personal rather enjoy more fashion items. The fashion slots on a character are an extremely interesting addition to the game, but we have so few fashion items that it really feels like it should be expanded.

Agreed, and added too.. Shoes, Gloves and Cloaks should be additional fashion items. What would also be cools, is carried items in you hand. Walking Staff or Cane, Parasol, Fan, Falcon, Holy Symbols, etc...

Not sure why the limitations so far, since it seems to me to be a money maker.

Yes! And we need some pants for females. Seriously, I do not get why most of fashion bottoms are the same "4 aprons" models, only dyed differently.

Other- race change tokens... I don't like the Mez. Renegade/Drow bugs, and I am fed up with how bony Elves are :)

Also, the character designers create a rather narrow set of norms.. it's hard to create a non-pretty character unless you like Dwarfs.. (..or a female character that doesn't appear to have an eating disorder).

The most for me is with the appearance change of a character, I would also like to see an option to change the race of a character...

IMO most of the "mount" characterizations are purely cosmetic (and thus basically worthless) as various different mounts of a class, share mostly similar attributes, other than cosmetic appearances. If you want to offer mount changes how about being able to upgrade the mount a person already has -vs- having to buy an entirely new mount just to upgrade things like speed oh and having mounts "bound to you character" is really bogus IMO. Even if someone buys an upgraded mount, what are their options for disposing of their previous mount... selling them for a fraction of what someone paid for them or just tossing it out like trash ~ As I said; bogus (IMO).

Then there is the items manufactured by a the professions of each player - that just happens to resemble every piece of equipment that anyone can buy from any merchant. If I am going to commission and pay for someone to manufacture something for me, I probably won't choose to have them make what ever it is so it resembles every other piece of equipment everyone already has with no better (customization) attributes.

But my biggest complaint and most ardent suggestion remains the "bound to character" items whether picked up in a dungeon, from a pack opened up from celestial award or from a purchase... There is a artificer that can transmute and work with EPIC items, why not provide some similar artificer that can remove the "bound to character" restriction from armor, weapons, jewelry, mounts, etc... for a reasonable fee of course.
