Tymora's gift running from 6th - 10th March . Yippee!

edited March 2014 in General Discussion (PC)
Tymora's gift has been sneaked onto the calendar to run from the 6th to the 10th of March , get those farming shoes on , now the question is whether or not to dump the dragon eggs I have left from the last Tymora's gift event onto the AH or not , I wonder if they will have nerfed the dragon egg drop rate for this time around.

For those not familiar with this event you get gift box drops for killing monsters that are level appropriate

This does not mean that these gifts have the same drop rate and/or content as it used to be.
Just not to raise any high hopes that lead to disappointment.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to that event!

Yeah it's a gamble whether or not to sell off the eggs I have left from last time but it will be interesting to see if they have changed the loot tables for the gift boxes , if they have I really hope they added the Wondrous bazzar blue quality hats this time instead of the armors.

Yeah, will need to wait for the calendar to be updated to say what drops the event will have this time.

It would be nice to get Dragon eggs like last time - in particular as I am down to just a couple of eggs in my inventory, but....well, I am not counting on it.
    Hoping for improvements...

Hopefully the event has been adjusted to the level requirement of later events, mobs with 7 levels rather than of the character's level as it was the first time around. True, we have level 60 zones beyond the mindflayer area and foundries, but it's nice to be able to go to different places with respawning enemies rather than spend all weekend running the same content as the daily grind and/or mindflayers.

I really hope no one expect it to be like last time. The real rewards are going to have a very ridiculous low drop and probably the gifts itself are going to have a very low drop rate too.

I don't know how it was for 60s, but there was a level range for the first event, as I mostly played a newish character through the Tower District and he most certainly wasn't always fighting things precisely his level, just fairly close to it. All those champion orcs and ogres dropped a lot of boxes.

It was within 7 levels the first time. I remember there was quite bit of a crowd in Rothe Valley since it had level 53 enemies. The only thing that has changed from the original Tymora to future events is that originally only tough enemies would drop boxes while now tough and minions drop them.

    Hot dog!
It would be nice to build a stack of eggs again and not need to buy them for a while. Though I guess if there's a flood of eggs then the price will crash a bit. Fingers crossed for prices in the 20k's! (or less!)

Do you think they will have anti-farming techniques this time to stop CWs farming ridiculous numbers of these in foundries?

Because it shouldn't be hard to do that so that every class has (roughly) the same chance of legitimately making some AD this time...

Thanks for the info and links. Sounds interesting. May I ask what are dragons eggs used for?

I hope the Gift of Tymora includes an apology for her boring challenge during Challenge of the Gods.

Thanks for the info. How much are the eggs worth? I bought a set of epic quality pants and shirt on the AH for about 35k each so I'm guessing quite a lot :)

Right now the Dragon Eggs are worth about 50K AD, but last time during the Tymora event I think they were as cheap as 13K.

Eggs are currently about 50 000 AD.

If you only paid 35k, then that is probably the non-socketed version; the socketed versions are more like 150k (or more).

If they don't tamper with the drop rates and keep them the same as the last time they ran this event then Tymora's gift will more than make up for the The Challenge of the gods fiasco.

The news release at the time made it sound like enemies had to be of the player's level, which was tricky for me because only my first character had completed the questline and unlocked the Illithid Enclave. I hated fighting the Mindflayers with my CW, due to the (still ongoing) Shard bug, and ended up with all four of my characters running foundries the whole weekend. What's bad is that I farmed Rothe Valley all the time back then, but took a break from it due to the event. That's got to be irony.

I would assume the lockboxes remain the same and that only the drop chances could be tweaked. I think we might know more after tomorrow's update. Maybe the description will be changed including a tooltip to the event items similar to CtAs.

I don't consider Challenge of the Gods a fiasco.

In theory, it was an improvement over Tymora's Gift and Coins of Waukeen because it encouraged players to play differently, rather than simply doling out bonus rewards for doing the things players already do all the time. In practice, the challenges were a mix of boring and awkward, and the religious connections were clumsy.

A move in the right direction, but suffering from execution flaws.

I didn't even think the problem with Challenge of the Gods was the challenges, although some of them seemed a little silly and ill-thought-out. The big problem, though, was the incredibly weak loot. It wasn't worth playing differently for a few minutes just to get a couple of potions or whatever.

I personally think they will keep the drop rates for Tymora, for these reasons:

    1) Influx of AD (albeit RAD) will inflate the ZAX, making it more attractive for people to buy ZEN and sell it for a better value.
    2) Influx of Dragon Eggs encourages people to purchase Profession Packs with ZEN, which means more sales for them.

Hooray! Wasn't around when the first one started.

Hopefully they introduce a new fashion item instead of the Fool's Crown (which looks a little shabby imo), or make it BoA at least. :D
