Alright folks, Module 3 release date has been announced! That means we have lots of ways to set ourselves up for some good trades. Start thinking now about ways to you can make AD. Flipping? Working the ZAX? New Lockboxes?
Here's another one to think about adding, Trace: farming the Blacklake Skirmish. Take a spare character slot, start a new character of any kind (although ranged works better), get it to level 5, and then repeat the Blacklake Terror skirmish multiple times in the Skirmish hour. Each one gives 1k RAD. The skirmish is so easy even at level 5, it's not unusual to get 10-15 of them done in 1 hour. Then refine the RAD and transfer it to your main, for 10k-15k AD for 1 hour's worth of work.

A loooovely sale this weekend has made for a spike in the ZAX! Thanks Cryptic for all the discount goodies!
It's a great time to stock up on keys before the release of Module 3, by the way.
Hello, I have a question! What is the best/faster way to lvl up leadership to lvl 20? I'm sorry if this was already answered before.
Well, there's no good way because it's fairly slow going, but here are some hints:
1) Buy Green Man-At-Arms (at least). This allows you to bypass recruitment and training of mercenaries, saving you a truckload of time.
2) On a lot? Do shorter tasks (2 Hr, 4 hr). Not on a lot? Do longer tasks that give 80-240 XP.
3) War Games Training and Tactical Training give the most Leadership XP.
4) Unlock an extra slot by doing a task with +100% speed bonus. Alchemy is good for this because it's not as expensive to purchase the Alchemists required.

To be honest, I don't bother with the training tasks, because even though they give the most leadership XP, they don't give anything else. I'd rather have a trickle of XP, gold, various sized boxes of good, and astral diamonds on a consistent basis.

Same here till lvl 19. 8k rAD a day for doing nothing beats getting nothing at all. At lvl 19 I couldn't contain myself any longer on my first character. I went full training and it still took me almost 2 months to get it to 20. Looking back I should probably have kept going with the rAD quests. I suppose in the end you'll make up for lost time, but hey, is there any time you don't need AD? That Ioun stone isn't free you know xD
lol i have few toons lvl 18 leadership got there in a month or so.
are u saying it takes 2 months to go from lvl 19 to 20 lol

It takes a while. It's a long grind. I normally log on 2x a day (morning and evening) with my Green Man-At-Arms. I bounce between the really good AD ones and War Games Training between 19-20.
The absolute best task for leadership XP is Chart Region - 2 hours, 80 XP. Patrol the Mines takes twice as long and only give 50% more XP. However CR requires local maps which limit the ability to do it repeatedly. You can use Explore Local Area to make more maps, but that reduces the efficiency. However the green maps are used in Collect Taxes, one of the better AD generators.
I usually go with the training tasks overnight and gathering tasks during the day - feeding my other characters with the resources. On my latest character, I've gone slower as she's been useful in refininig BOE salvage items. She should hit rank 20 tomorrow, roughly 7 to 8 weeks after creation, but I unlocked the 100% speed bonus slot and bought her all blue workers to speed up thing.

Leadership is worth it if you're in it for the longhaul. It takes a long time to level it up, but very quickly gives you a lot of rough ad, while pays for any character slots required for manual farming very quickly. It is a little tedious though. I wasn't going to do it, however with one of the events giving daily rewards, I got into the habit and will start to make a nice bit of ad. Currently I've invest all of the ad into more production via adventurers (3 per toon) man at arms and slots. It's take a long time to get here but will hopefully not to worry so much on ad production with 12 l20 leadership toons soon(ish) to be 16. Which is good because if this bop nonsense continues it'd be the best way for me to actually make any ad >.>. Would be kind of funny having to rely on not playing to actually make progress... I used to think the ad tasks such as spellplague barrels are nice, but learnt that the ad was a little on the meh side and prefer 2 war games training a day and another at night. I also have patrol the mines during the day because I'll need a decent supply for later. At the level 19 mark I usually do aquire siege engine at night to get a supply of them too.
Local area/chart region was the best way for low levels, but I find the 2hour tasks tedious so prefer the longer more rewarding tasks. I'm more likely to miss out on time by forgetting to requeue tasks if they're shorter.
On my latest 4 toons I have them to level 17/18 which took a couple of months and they have 5 or 6 slots each since some have the level 30 slot open and others don't yet. The more you level at the same time, the more rewarding it will be and the less tedious it will be compared to doing another toon all over again once it reaches 20.

Look at it this way - I took tailoring from 0 to 18+ while still running tasks to get leadership from 19 to 20. You can run tasks that give 800 profession XP for 7 hours, but the most you can get from leadership is 240... and the mass gather tasks at least give you materials for your trouble.

work lvl 2 deep gathering till lvl 7 50 exp per
lvl 7 deep gather till lvl 14 200 exp per
lvl 14 deep gathering till lvl 20... bingo 800 exp per
leadership is best for ad's but! work these skill I mentioned to open slots quicker
I work leadership last but that's saying save the best for last "more slots opened rdy for leadership"
I just do the 6 hours cause I work crazy hours. I have control over game times so I know at a certain times I log on gateway on phone and re up those professions
3 toons 4 professions all lvl 20 all 9 slots open
just keep in mind the best wepon your toon can use is made by your profession. your char classe uses
but u need to get the initial item from dungeon then enhance it via profession
tr=weapon
cw= arti
etc
Regarding slots unlock: Fastest profession to level is Alchemy. With some AD (~200k) you can get it to 20 in one hour. Also easy to get 100% slot and rank 3 slot.
I never quite paid attention to it, but the math according to the wiki looks different.
Patrol the Mines and War Games Training both give 30 XP per hour (240 for 8 and 120 for 4). Six slots give 4.320 XP per day. You need 38.400 XP from 19 to 20, that'll make nine days from 19 to 20. That's for full capacity though, thus unrealistic.
Logging in two times a day is 2.160 XP or 18 days.
I personally always run the AD heavy tasks (Fight Off Spellplagued, Battle Undead), which give less Profession XP per hour. Even with them, logging in twice a day for 1.950 XP takes no longer than 20 days.
Considering you have some solid XP tasks at lower level with Guard Duty, Protect Caravan and Explore Local Area and the two mentioned and most profitable are available at 13, you should be able to level the profession in two and a half months, starting tasks twice a day. Putting more time in can get you there in under 60 days.
What about unlocking the level 20 slot faster? Did you guys put that in your equation?
I always do that first, before investing huge time into leadership. If you are willing to spend some AD on it, a proper profession (the relevant armor profession or alchemy) can be done in a week or so. I'm not sure if it makes your leadership reach 20 any faster, but it's well worth it in the long run.

If people have enough diamonds as a capital, they can level alchemy, or tailoring to 20 in less than a week and unlock 2x slots (rank 3 crafting and rank 20 prof slots).
They can then resell the assets.
That's 2 more slots which is big.

An interesting weekend for the NW economy folks! It was a rare seller's market this weekend. A few comments:
1) We saw a little spike in the ZAX (up into the 440's) with the great sale we had this weekend. It was a good time to stock up on keys before Module 3 for our lock box fanatics.
2) The farmers must have been AFK all weekend, because there were multiple times where the AH ran out of stacks of Peridots and Rank 5s. Nearly every enchantment level 5-10 went up in the last few days. It was one of the few weekends were the short selling technique came into play.
3) Module 3 is around the corner! Just a little over two weeks away. So what can we expect? Perhaps an increase in prices as people stock up? Perhaps a flood of items into the market beforehand?

With Patrol the Mines and War Games Training (two times a day, 5 slots) = 38400/((240+240+240+120+120)*2) = 20 days. Seems the fastest way.
