Endgame Gnomes

So after countless hours fighting through hordes of demons, undead, elementals, powerful beasts, amazing creatures, horrific monsters, and diabolical warlords, my charactor honed her skills and trained long and hard for her final battle:

Gnomes.

Seriously who thought making you fight garden gnomes would be a good idea for end game content after all the other horrors we've seen?
These feel more like a level 20 - 40 enemy at the worst.

Why did you expect? A tarasque army? :D

There aren't just gnomes but fomorians. Those are nasty, especially the totemists with their necrotic damage :P

not to go completely off topic but i would love a t-shirt that says "WITHER YOUR LIMBS" because i think that would be stellar.

i'm not sure if the OP is trying to be funny but... gnomes. i never thought about them looking like garden-variety gnomes. they are kind of short.

Redcaps are the perfect size for causing stress when you can hear the action point drain charging up, but can't find the little pest as it hides under trolls and cyclops. The witherer in the second barrel group in the Arcane Reservoir can also be tricky to target, depending on its path. Good use of small.

When I first entered Sharandar, I found the "gnomes" and many of the other enemies to have some pretty interesting abilities that made them different to fight. That mattered to me a lot more than the cosmetic package they were wrapped up in. This trend continues in test with the upcoming Dread Ring, so I think they are doing a pretty good job with the updates.

They can do that? Never ever noticed. My class has no dailies.

ummm.... All classes have daily powers. Every single one, including the HR which comes out tomorrow. You get one during the first mission in the game, and unlock more as you level up. By level 20 you have 2 slots for daily powers, and at least one of them is filled with the first daily that you get. I suppose it is possible to neve take a 2nd daily, but I would be surprised if you did not have at least 2 with points in it.

    What class are you playing?

Even then he is incorrect. While some daily powers are better than others, there is absolutely no reason to not use them, what else are you doing with your Action Points?

I've never seen a redcap dipping their caps in the blood of their victims, so I've never been fond of calling them that =P.

But I must admit they are a well designed thing, but the females were a bit scarier, in a way, when they didn't have faces. Been searching for the life of me, but I can't find those patch notes detailing that back in august.

For some reason, to my ears, the battle challenge of the Red Cap Witherers is "Wiggle your limbs!"... which makes me chuckle.

Redcaps are the coolest and funniest enemies in Neverwinter. And sominator is right, that AP drain is terrifying. Nothing makes me panic more than that sound they make when they charge up the AP drain power. :p

The witherers are what draw my wrath. First character going through the instance to get to Sharandar, just about had the boss down and he gets healed. Unless the only other thing I'm fighting are poweries, the healers have to die first.

I have used a daily quite a few times when there wasn't anyway to kill all the poweries though.

They drain AP? I've never noticed, they're always dead before they can do much of anything.

Between the Powrie's AP drain, Witherer's heals, Giant Soul's knocks, and Thorn's stuns, the Redcaps can be a real nuisance - which is probably exactly what the devs were going for...

Of all the enemies in Feywild, though, I'd have to say that the Cyclops shamans are most annoying - their backward teleport and lightning circles on the ground that can knock you back, just make life difficult.

    Blood magic!

If you read the Demon Wars Saga by R.A. Salvatore you will gain a new appreciation for the bloody caps. They are terrifying in that series although he does describe them as dwarves instead of gnomes.
