What are your three favorite things about the game, despite all that might annoy you...
For me:
1. Environments are really nice and the ambience really gives you the feel that you are in that setting.
2. Despite claims over cookie cutter builds, I think the talent and power system system gives players ultimate control over how they want to play. I love it. Next to Diablo 3's talent system, this one is probably one of the better talent systems out there(even though D3 is not an MMO).
3. Cool looking mobs. There are many different interesting mobs in the mini dungeons. Just wish there were more mini dungeons with more than just killing a few packs of trash and one or two big guys to kill. But I like the bosses.
* as an aside, I'm glad this thread was started to highlight the positives of this great game. There is way too much negativity on the forums these days.

Well, I do think this game has a lot of positive to it and a few nich

1. Combat system
2. No raids
3. Graphics/Theme of the game
PvP. It's a team based game, and team balance is some of the best I've seen in any game. Room for improvement, but a solid foundation to work with.
Combat System. I'm very tired of tab-based targeting and managing 10-key hotbar combo's. I like that it's simple and straightforward, while offering a bit of diversity to make each character slightly different (if they want to be).
Environment and Theme. Forgotten Realms is a great IP, and so far, Cryptic has done a decent job bringing it to life. It's not complete, but it's a good start.
In the end, I remember that this game is only a few months old and has a lot of future in front of it.
"Every adventurer has two things in common: they don't like dying, and they love getting paid. The rest is just semantics." Brecken, famed mercenary of Baldur's Gate
- Movement/Combat System
Thats mostly why I play Neverwinter, hate this "idle"fighting in other MMOs. Just lovin this active important moving.
Additionally that "few skills" system, not having 10000 skills in bar, just a few, to manage it all.
- Setting / Enviroment
I really like the Swordcost setup mostly, back from pen and paper D&D, crossing Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter,...
- Foundry
Kinda neverending Story - but it should be a bit more included to the game iMo.
Like more rewards, for playing longer foundrys or special EQsets only by foundrys of 1 hour and more - or whatever...

1. Combat is fast paced and engaging.
2. Powers are available often, while still providing a sense of having to put some thought into where and when you do use them.
3. The ability to earn ADs and convert them to Zen means that I can spend time instead of real money, if that's how I want to go about making purchases form the Zen store.

1. I can play it absolutely free. (to me, it has been the easiest to acquire CS currency than other f2p games; though they nerfed certain aspects to this)
2. Combat
3. My bear

I'm glad someone else mentioned Diablo. I came to this game from mostly playing ActionRPG's and was looking for a more immersive experience. But most MMO's have such bad combat and screens filled with 20 or more ability buttons that seem unnecessary to an ARPG player.
So I heard about the action combat of Neverwinter and started playing in Beta and haven't looked back. There are problems with it, but I've never played a game without bugs so it hasn't really lessened my enjoyment.

Ok.. i've got to ask.. all you ppl who are constantly *****ing about the cons of the game.. if you do not like it. why do you play?
Also, guys remember that this is a free to play game.. and free to play games tend to rely on microtransactions.. so look at the zen market here and tell me if there is any item that you cannot play the game without it.. ok i too think that some items should be obtainable with in game currency but it's not THAT bad.. (just take a look in the real money market of DDO or Allods)
So as i see it.. for a game that you don't have to pay for playing it, it's a great game, it can be even greater but it's great nevertheless.
Now, about what i like..
1) lore (i mean, com' on it's neverwinter)
2) gameplay
3) ICE MAGICK!!!!! !FREEZE motherfcker!

varetmarkush, I've come to the conclusion that those that complain often fall into 1 of 3 groups:
1. People that genuinely love the game, but want to see it reach its potential. To that end, they feel a need to bring all the flaws to light, and to keep re-introducing them, in hopes that they get addressed.
2. People that liked the game at one point, but due to some bug or issue that they experienced, or something that has otherwise negatively impacted their gameplay experience, feel like they were wronged or "burned" by the game, and want to sort of share their "cautionary tale".
3. People that are miserable, and gain pleasure from making other people miserable, too.

Right here, yo. I play because it's free and because I love D&D. I despise their business model and discourage anyone who wants to spend money on this game. I voice my opinion because I have the hope Cryptic will one day truly listen to their customer base.
Guys i do agree with you...and i too think that there are some things that should be fixed.
But there is a difference between 'complaining' and b1tch1ng..
sedryntyros, 'art' is very vague term.. art is neither good or bad.. it is subjective.
What i find as 'good' art you may perceive it as 'bad' and vice versa so criticism in art is invalid unless you are the artist.
bioshrike, unfortunately the 3rd group is the largest..

Please don't take this the wrong way, but that's pure nonsense.
If you're tired of reading complaints then I recommend you avoid the forums! If you choose to come back here regularly, expect to see plenty of criticism. It's entirely warranted and should be expected.
1) The action combat
2) Casual friendly
3) Solo friendly
4) No raids
5) Not PVP focused
6) Love the lore and setting
7) Love the graphics and visual style. Gear looks realistic and useful rather then pure fantasy.
8) Love the potential, hopefully once more classes and paragons get added this game can really start to shine.
1. The Sanitorium in Helm's Hold. I haven't seen all of the content by ant stretch. But that is, hands down, my favorite segment so far. Great atmosphere, good balance in the challenge, and a creepy end boss who seemed to take pleasure in getting whaled upon.
2. The inviting learning curve. NW is my first MMO experience and it really felt like 'pick up and play'. Click the left mouse to kill stuff? Got it. Press 'W' to move? Sure thing. Hit shift to raise my shield? No problem. Talk to the people with question marks above their heads? 10-4. Click 'F' on the sparkly stuff to get loot? If you say so. Good to go!
3. The chance to find something new even after playing for several weeks and going through some instances multiple times. There's a vendor towards the end of the sewer crawl that you have with Linkletter. I must have done that crawl five times before I even found him. Little things like that.

LOL, That cowardly rat merchant is awesome. My second favorite NPC. Top honors is still the lich in lich's lament. "I dont wish to unlive on this planet anymore"
a) The solo instances: I LOVE doing instanced content by myself, and NWO has it in spades.
b) Solo advancement: seriously, I'm working towards a set of T1 gear through Fury of the Feywild, and I DON'T HAVE TO SIT AROUND WAITING FOR A GROUP WHEN I ONLY HAVE 30 MINUTES TO PLAY!
c) The Combat: It's lots of fun, I don't know if I'll be able to go back.
d) The Foundry - see "a," above. I'm really hoping that the next module is all about streamlining the Foundry into a campaign of some kind.
e) The mini-game of delayed gratification as I save AD versus throwing some money into a game I like.
f) The fact that I can do a lot through my browser. It's going to make totally walking away really hard: when I run out of things to do I'll probably pause, but keep working the Gateway.
