LOL, That cowardly rat merchant is awesome. My second favorite NPC. Top honors is still the lich in lich's lament. "I dont wish to unlive on this planet anymore"

Y'know what's ironic about that quest - if you pay attention to what the Doomguide tells you when you give him the phlycantropy, (or w/e it's called), he tells you that they will lock it in some super-secure vault of theirs - basically ensuring that the lich can live on for a very long time, (which I almost took as the lich outsmarting you).

Please don't take this the wrong way, but that's pure nonsense.

LOL the simplistic objective perception cannot comprehend the true form of the sphere but sees only the illusion of the circle..

But im not gonna start a philosophic conversation on a game's forum.. good night..

Oh totally. Especially when the Doomguide made the comment that he almost felt like the lich was...laughing. I was like, sneaky lich :p
Plus, I love the voice. Reminds me a lot of Tony Jay and his pure villainous awesomeness.

"...Magnificent stonework, commanding view... all ruined! Probably by some adventurer like you looking for a magic sword!"

There's this one quest in, I think, the tower district, where if you're playing a CW, you have to jump into the pillar of light that ghostly bodies fall through. There's this dwarf kinda peering into it who says some funny stuff, (can't remember if it's voiced or just via text bubbles), too.

    1. Combat - I haven't played too many MMOs but Neverwinter has the most fun combat system I've seen by far.

    2. Lore and Setting - I love the Forgotten Realms. I've read a ton of the novels and played pretty much every FR game since Pool of Radiance.

    3. Foundry - An awesome way to allow the players to showcase their creativity, and some of them are really impressive.

P.S. I also love that lich quest.

    5.MY NIGHTMARE MOUNTS

    Yes, genuinely enjoyed the lich.

I apologize for derailing the thread a bit, but am I the only one that didn't want to do Chettlebell's Correcting History quest? I like to think of my GFs as Paladin sorts and there was just something....unseemly..about what he was asking me to do. It's the only quest I've declined so far and I'm wondering if I'll run into other ambguous content further along.

You know you are giving up a free bag by doing that.

There have been a few complaints about the whole Skyhold area being a little grey. You are basically murdering the indigenous lizard people to help some profiteers gets richer. Granted the lizards are evil and allied with a black dragon...but still, it was their home first.

Actually i believe there should be more quests that should give points towards alliances, so that you choose which quests you take in order for your char to be what ever you want.. its a little awkward playing a drow that is not chaotic evil after all..

About skipping a quest. I did it once. It was in the Blackdagger Ruins. You go into a mine, kill a wolflike boss at the end, he is pretty tough, and free some people. I skipped it, because I had lots of graphical issues there. The next problem was that I could not progress further through the zone. Some quests seem mandatory.

    Ok my three points.

    1. combat
    2. Its free, well, I can pay or not pay and all that on my own terms.
3 A really simple and easy manageable action bar.

Suit yourself. I just don't understand why players get so emo over criticism of the game; and they tend to come up with nonsensical, illogical reasons why the game should be immune from any criticism, but whatever. To each their own, I suppose. If people want to get bent because other's voice an opinion they don't agree with that's their prerogative. Seems somewhat moronic to come to the forums expecting otherwise, though.

    1. Combat system. I like getting away from the tab targeting although I'd prefer it to be more free-flowing without the animation stops/need to break animations, but its no biggie. But even if I still do miss the free-flowing kiting of other games I'm getting quite used to it now.

    2. Foundry. I do a lot of foundries outwith the dailies. Its great you find a good immersive story which is part of a campaign but they're not easy to find.

    3. Skill bar limitations. I like too that you need to take the tools for the job. That said, I wish there were more skills to choose from particularly some more support/buff skills. I might be mad but I miss the old "everybody buff up!" routine.

Actually, I didn't miss out on the bag. I don't remember which Chettlebell quest it is that gives it to you, but it's not Correcting History.

Oh, well.. maybe you could try to understand what you read, and try to see the whole picture instead of only a small fragment for a change..
this is what i mean about b1tch1ng and stupid criticism.. i'm not saying that the game should be immune to it but that the process of criticism itself should be based on logic and should provide some reasonable solution.. not just say that 'oh, cryptic sucks and blah blah blah" and just wait for them to sort everything out.. yes, you have a voice but you should use it for reason not some miserable blabbing about how 'they' suck.. unless YOU have the skill and knowledge to provide some great solution.. but most ppl are either naive or stupid to think that being unreasonably harsh and offensive (providing that they also lack the technical knowledge of the subject) is 'criticism'.. no, this is b1tch1ng..

Also.. no, i'm not emotional or protective over the game itself, i just cant comprehend human stupidity and naiveness.

You don`t get it from that quest, but from the ending quest in his quest chain. However I was sure he would not offer more quests in his chain unless you did changing history first. I know for a fact that changing history is tied to the zone completion accolade as one of the pre-reqs.

However, this is a case ill be glad to be wrong. This should of been your second bag at the end of the water clock tomb. And if that is the case its cool to know you can indeed skip parts and still get rewarded for it.

It isn't criticisms or complaints that push people to that point exactly. At least not for me. It is the sky is falling game is dead if you don't do this everyone is leaving doomsayers and such. So much of the criticism is posted with extremely brash attitudes that take away from any part of the criticism that could be constructive. Game bashing, dev bashing, fan bashing, whale bashing, and the like. It tends to make people get defensive. Good constructive criticism should be heard, but then even this threads doomsayers jump on board and ruin everything because they are the LOUDEST.

I am glad to see so many people are enjoying the game.

First reason for me is the setting. I was a big fan of the original Neverwinter Nights games and I have been waiting for this game for a long time.
Second reason would be the engaging combat. I was lucky enough to play for a weekend back in close beta. I had very little free time that weekend, so I couldn't play much, but it was enough to impress me.
And the third reason is that is really free to play. Anything you need, you can get in game on way ore another without spending any real money.
