all i hear is a lot of 'I made a choice to spend money and it bit my butt' at the same time ignoring the fact that you are the one that spent the money. Your choice to spend, and I almost feel bad about it, but it was your decision. And again, you are ignoring the fact that will probably be a new set that will make it obsolete anyway. Don't toss away your investment, just work with what you have and have fun doing so.
Well yes, but is anyone who spent money on the game, only to have nerfs thrown their way, likely to spend any more? No.
It looks largely like cryptic are going for the "attract as much 'fresh' user cash as possible (come try our game! It is shiny!), but ignore long-term contributors (given us cash already? kthxbai and gtfo)" model, which while economically viable is also kinda dickish.
Plus, long term users are generally a great source of experience. The kind of long term users that stick with it through constant nerfs and skill rearrangements tend to be those in the "LOL adapt and L2P nublets" demographic, and they're not terribly helpful.

you assume that they will quit, but metrics (well using WoW, UO, EQ, and may other Korean MMO as a model into the mix) that is not the case. Some players WILL leave the game cause they are unhappy (usually the reason) but many will stay and probably grow longer and continue playing. Or may return later when the next new "I win button" option come into play.
