They said 60 days after launch for Drow.. the 20th was Launch day.
They said nothing about new classes at launch aside from the fact that t hey were having problems with ranged missile attacks. Everything else said about classes, ie the Warlock, the two weapon Rangers, Drow on the 20th has been player generated not Dev. That is my issue with the online gaming community in this day and age, it gets out of control so soon and once it starts it just gets worse. The reason alot of thse games come and go isn't that the game sucks, its because the players are whiny and self entitled and can't wait for anything.

MMO never meant to be for PVP, it's there cause there too many whiners asking for it "we want PVP"

But in the end it's a waste of time balancing something that forever unbalance. You nerf one class, something else will be overpowered, you nerf that overpowered class something else will be overpowered. It's an endless cycle of wasting time balancing.

This is a pretty opionated statement considering basicly every MMO that has done well has PVP. Even the first generation MMO had PVP (IE: UO, EQ1, etc.). Hell EQ1 is still going pretty strong and STILL pushing out expansions almost 15years later. So to say that MMOs were never meant to have PVP is a pretty silly statement.

PS: Bluebies are funny, complaining about pvp in an MMO is like complaining that theres Cheese on your ham and cheese sandwich

Completely incorrect. The one reason games come and go is because they are no longer financially viable. This of course happens when the "whiners" no longer invest the game. It has nothing to do with your assertion that players are whiners (which is incorrect, customers that post feedback want the game to succeed, they are assisting with free market research), self-entitled, or whatever other nonsense you are spewing.

When a product is no longer entertaining, people generally stop paying. That's it. Not complicated

    1. The game does feel incomplete. Hopefully they will add more content with more character diversity.
    2. The whiners in pvp are a big issue and I agree that pvp should really have been a separate server.
    3. The balancing thing will hurt the game more in the long run. Balancing the game for PVP will only weaken the players.
    4. The bosses should be tougher with less adds. I mean I've had a team kill a boss and still be killed off when the adds overwhelmed us after the boss was dead.

I have a 11.5GS TR and only play pvp for the daily quest. I often hear people cry my TR is op. What I have discovered after speaking with them and even inspecting them is that they have poor gear with gear scores around 5k to 9k. Naturally a TR like mine will waste someone who has a gear score around 5k or 9k. It is not my TR being overpowered, it is the other person having lower gear and simply using OP as an excuse for them not putting any effort into their character. My TR would be OP if it was immortal and unkillable. My TR can still be easily killed if a high enough geared enemy attacks it and overwhelms it. Honestly please check your own gear if you feel like a class is OP because they kill you quickly. I do not go about crying about high geared tanks knocking me down, stunning me, and killing me before I can get away. That is what they are suppose to do and I just need to be on my toes when handling them.
What people do not realize is each class is suppose to have a specific purpose that comes with its strengths and weaknesses. Trying to balance every class so that every class is a carbon copy will only hurt the game. For those that cry about spend to win. I only spent about $70 on keys and dyes for lockboxes that resulted in me getting a fire bird companion that is rather common. I worked my but off doing dungeons and working on my professions to get my character where it is today. There is really nothing in the Zen market that you can use to win. You can possible buy Zen and sell it to buy astral diamonds to buy the AH or buy stuff from the Zen market and sell it in the AH. That is your choice to do it if you do not want to put the effort into running dungeons or crafting with professions.
Every class has advantages and disadvantages. Learn the disadvantages of you class to overcome them. Learn the advantages of your class and the disadvatages of other classes to use them in pvp to win.

There is no point to whine for nerfs because you win some and loose some. Crying just makes a player look like a crier and no one, especially the devs, should take them seriously. Have a nice day!:)

I got to give you thumbs up. I do the striving to achieve my goals in the game. I worked my butt off doing dungeons and professions to get my TR to 11.5k GS lvl60. I've even respeced 3 times till I found the right combination of feats/abilities/powers that fit my playing style.

    vandru

Ok this game is F2P which means significant limitations. It is NOT Neverwinter Nights, it is NOT Baldurs Gate and it is NOT Elder Scrolls. Those games cost money and are brilliant (still). This game would not be out of place on Facebook or Android at $9.99 for the full package.
No thought has gone into this and no thought needs to go into it by the players. Just pick a pretty picture of a character that looks good (doesn't matter which because they are all basically the same) and follow the twinkly stars. This is even worse than DDO. It appears to be aimed at the modern day player who constantly needs to be shown how to do things, always has to win and does not understand the concept of having to strive to achieve. Remember trying to play NWN with a Wizard who specialises in summoning or a Dex fighter? You needed to plan your character and think about your actions. THAT is what an RPG (in the context of PC gaming) is all about. The million dollar question is, can this game be made to work before ES Online is finished? or even better, some developer out there switches on and creates a REAL NWN 3!

PVP should have been kept separate on a different server to be honest. This balancing act to balance classes will just make it more difficult for teams to fight dungeons.

If you want to fight the "environment" all day long and cut down trees and such that's alright. Some people on the other hand are looking for competition, it's the way we humans are made. Just because you choose to set your goals low doesn't mean we all have to.

I dare you to find a game's forum that has absolutely NO complaints about PvP.

I'll save you the trouble. You can't. Every single MMO game that has PvP also has the same problem of people complaining about balance, afk farming, spawn camping, etc.

Also pretty sure PvP has absolutely nothing to do with why EQ1 is still going. That's more along the lines of another facet of the game that Cryptic games also lack. CONTENT. PLAYABILITY.

So, to reiterate....no. PvP has no place in an MMO. It's perfectly fine in FPS and RTS games, and even stuff like LoL, because those games are all about PvP. The big problem is when you mix PvE and PvP. Balancing one totally destroys the other, unless you keep the game mechanics totally seperate, which to date, I don't think any one game has.

Occam's Razor makes the cutting clean.

Wait a second. You said Andy Velasquez guaranteed launch would contain 8 races and 7 classes. No way we would have the authority to edit the Lead Producer of the game. He is fully capable of editing himself.

I had Andy on my show and I asked him about more classes and races. I'll give you a hint, he never said any such thing.

You can't screenshot it, because it never happened. As far as flag waving, you won't find any of the sort from me. I call it straight down the line.

Better start looking for your proof. It may take you a lifetime to find it...

It was always 7 races and 5 classes, with Drow being 60days after launch.

Where do these people come up with this stuff?

    You cant please everyone,

If they realease new FREE classes/Skills/content people will complain about bugs/OP/Unbalenced PVP/exploits/people booting the underpowered classes from t2 dungeons or that they didn't release the class, content or profession THEY wanted ect.

If they fix bugs or balance things people will complain about lack of races/classes/customization/bugs they didn't fix

if they release customization options like races/dyes/fashion/pets people call them money grabbing/complain they didn't add the race/customization THEY wanted.

So really if you don't get what your looking for Blame the ten people who say no don't do that do this just like your doing.
because not doing something like fix bugs wont get YOUR pet class released any sooner.

of course in reality they are probably working on everything at once and some thing just take longer so complaining does nothing but let trolls rant at you. and raise people's post count. ad distract people who like drama ...and thanks for the destraction.

At the end of the day the current content is not enough if we don't have any concrete plans for more paragon paths or at least one new class by the end of the summer, because as it is, anyone can get their character in full gear, etc, in a month.

People want something they can stick to, nobody wants to be a carbon cut out of the next player.

Please make Fury of the Feywild worthwhile, Cryptic, the entire game depends on the first major update.

...Well, at least when the core of the game is as limited as it currently is.

Cryptic, I love you guys. I really do. You seem to be passionate about the games you put out.

That is why I will say this as kindly and simply as I possibly can:

Your game is going to die without new classes.

Literally every single one of my friends that I have gotten involved in this game has left because the lack of class diversity makes them feel like literal carbon cutouts of every other player.

I held my breath and waited for the update info on module 1, and you STILL haven't mentioned a new class.

Are you trying to get us to leave your game? Because it feels that way. Seriously. It really does.

Guess I'll go and do something else until you decide to change priorities a bit. I understand different folks want different things, and I'm not an entitled guy. I'll just go play something else and stop spending money here.

    *sigh*

So adding a class with limited abilities and always a "best build" so you can populate the minimal toolbar, with the same cookie cutter graphics armor, same linear quest lines, ability to solo the entire game (not dungeons) is going to fix it? I wish that was the case :(
