Debuting the NOCS Episode 3: The Founder's Guilds Roundtable Podcast

I'm proud to debut the Founders Guilds Roundtable, our newest production of the Neverwinter Online Crossroads Show, Episode 3 Segment 1 (of 2), during Beta Weekend #3!

Representing all the Founder Guilds of Neverwinter, our special guests went all out for the community - laying out all sorts of recommendations and pitfalls to avoid for current and future guild leaders. Our secondary focus was to provide a clear glimpse of how organized guilds operate, so those shopping for a guild can find a good home.

Starring Doctorcomics from Seven Against Thay, Dreadshepard from Zinzerina’s Zealotry, Paks from Tyrs Paladium, Deathscrowbar from the Hardcore Christian Gamers, Madlamma from the Older Dragons, Ash from the Army Of Darkness and Zearrik from Caffeine.

    Wow, that's an honor... thank you sir!

    And we have one more in the bag... I'm gonna give listeners a week or so after beta weekend #3 to digest this one, then release segment 2. It was just as fun to do, great bunch of guys and gal!

    I must say it's been fun. I've been careful to only produce shows that mean something to our Neverwinter community. I do not want to drag on once every few weeks for a few hours just to say I have a "regular" show. I'd rather do 6 on-task and entertaining shows a year than 12+ monotonous shows that all sound the same.

    Maiden in the Moon has been deleted now, however. I was working on it, and I crossed limits of budget which made me rage and when I fatigued I realized I had deleted a lot of things. I am telling others that I have deleted it intentionally though (so shhhh its a secret!).

    However, as I am impractically ambitious (being a follower of Selune, lady of hope!) I have already put up another project which is much bigger (Shards of Selune) and unrealistically ambitious. Lets see if I can complete it soon.

    - Very nice idea about making thralls! Really liked that nifty workaround!
    - Very good idea about drow event. (Lorewise it would be tough to justify imo, but it is possible and a really great idea)
    - Regarding story-telling for characters, I have demonstrated a lot of techniques for it in "Selunite Way". Check it out in BW4! You will like it! :D
    - Reminds me not to make a Boo reference when raiding a boss with you. Our PCs will die while we all are rofl.
    - The biggest pain ... um.. somewhere : I think is a bug. It should work as unpainful as it should be. (Sorry Loviatar)
    - Agreed on lvl 15 blunder. I will need at least half a month to reach lvl 15 (sorry I am slow as a slime)
    - Sorry paks, as I play a healer usually, so I kept forgetting I am not playing the healer that time! :p
    - Tempest's spine was also my favorite. I used to be the healer (usually only one) and I used to bring ice. New guildies usually got very nervous when I tried doing that! :D
    - The thought is to have at least 5 people before you start the guild. Lvl 15 is a troll monster though.
    - good point aandre. The game is very hostile to new and low level players.
    - Cryptic has always <been really bad> at detecting optimal settings for computer :all their games.
    - Lag depends on ping not bandwidth. You don't need high bandwidth (maybe 5kbps or so). So ping is important, not bandwidth. So 100 Mbps or half Mbps does not matter. Ping does.

    - PermaD ftw! My favorite playstyle! But we can always PermaD, its a playstyle not a game-mechanic (like they do in DDO)
    - Warforged? Did I hear it? Guard the doors of realms, don't let abominations enter my beloved Faerun. For Faerun!
    - What a great idea with half-orc! Nice to hear of such great role-players!
    - What I think about cussing is that it is very much dependent on situation. If playing with 2-3 friends who understand you its ok, but publicly doing it when others may object would be a no-no. So I guess have some skill points in INSIGHT skill pays off.
    - Yeah paks, line of the century! (said in 1479 DR)
    - OMG! A scary person! A mindflayer?
    - Yeah, Tyrs feels like an in-game family. I am guessing most other guilds would be like that. (We have a bouncer too who is a giant)
    - Talking about running, paks was running something and then I joined. She re-ran it. Then another person joined, we re-ran it again, then more guildies joined - and we re-ran the quest again. I guess it is the DDO conditioning that company matters more than content. (DDO had no content back then)
    - I will be making a tutorial on foundry in first week of april. I am not sure if it will be released publicly, but lets see. People should be able to make quality content easily after reading that.
    - You are great host Andre! Don't worry! Better than most 'professionals' I have heard.
    - "I wanted you guys to do the talking" hehe if you let them talk!
    - "widget" hmm.... andre, you heard "...from someone"?
    - Andre they have "nw-rp.com" site up on enjin too(Neverwinter roleplayer website). Its a good place. I already have an account on that. Its pretty cool. If you are migrating, I recommend that too.

    Some good info in this podcast for people looking to dedicate themselves as Guild Masters and running a guild. You had mentioned in your podcast that the Founding Guild Masters should get a foundry tutorial(s) to help them learn how to use the Tool-Set. I think everyone should have access to that, not just the Guild Masters. So I wanted to mention that there are a number of specialty sites up now that will provide this type of guides to the public as a whole. Obviously there is not a lot of content on them due to the NDA, but once it's lifted, there will be plenty available for consumption.
