What are your goals and schedules going to be upon the release of Neverwinter?

Playing for fun is important but lets be real folks, MMO's are srsbuisness. We all make some kind of plan upon the realese of an mmo or expansion on how where going to level and what we are going to play.

So what do you guys have as your plan?
What have you done in the past?

If your confused heres an example and feel free to express yourself creatively make the posts as simple or as fun to read as you want.

One man. One Group. One Schedule. One Goal.

"They say that the most dangerous gamer in the world is one with a free schedule."

1 cleric 1 wizard 2 rogues 1 fighter.

20 hours of gameplay a day with 4 hours of sleep. 2am-6am

Goal is to reach cap within a week and "Romp Around" Neverwinter

Velocifaptor as Cleric
Twrecks as Fighter
Pterrordactyl as Wizard
Derpiodonis as Rogue
Masterbaitadon as Rogue

Dinosaurs for Hire.

Because being awesome never goes extinct.

Complete my foundry stories as soon as I can get my hands on foundry. Not very interested in game but more interested in foundry.

With Mystra gone, it's Selune's time to shine! I can't let go of that opportunity. So I need a good to exceptional Silverstar story with an interesting main character. Before Mystra comes in and starts becoming popular again, Selune must spread her tears... err... wings in the sky!

    *Advertisement starts*
Also to the mages who are abandoned by Mystra: become a follower of Selune for any aracanist or divine worshipper of can become a Silverstar!
Did Mystra ever gave you exclusive powers over her domain? No. Selune's clergy is offering it! You get unique powers over any lycan!

    Silverstars Unite!
    *Advertisement ends*

p.s. seriously, Selune is in need of people - senile mage, spoony bard, avengers, clerics - all are invited. (Tree-hugging primals, psychotic psionics and giftless martials need not apply - unless they are tree-hugging arcane eladrins).

Nice, I was going to do some foundry stuff (I probably still will) but I know like nothing about the campaign setting really. I have always made up my own stuff while DMing so I never got to reading up on it.

I plan to wonder around aimlessly and see what all I can and can't do. Then jump around into the foundry and do the same. I don't do that "I gotta level through all of this now" business. That is no way to play a game IMHO. I plan on actually having fun in the world. Not breezing by it for bragging rights.

If this is satire, then I salute you, but my (I HAVEN'T HAD MY COFFEE YET!!) brain is seriously wondering. If not then /Facepalm

For me, I plan on diving into the foundry, as well as getting out and exploring the NW area a bit. I want to see if NW has the chops to keep me interested or if like most of the latest games, it's polish quickly wears thin. If the player base seems to be generally of a "higher quality", I'll stick around, and create some a bit in the Foundry. Otherwise GOG has been having some great sales.

I will more than likely put up the first chapter of my campaign first, then I will get into the actual game play, the problem I ran into Neverwinter nights was I became a full time DM/Modder I am hoping to actually play a bit this time around.

Depending on release date, I'll be taking a week or two off work.

Hopefully we'll all get a chance to test out the game before it launches, I'll spread my time around and get an idea of what I'd like to do at launch, but so far I'm planning on playing through the game slowly - taking my time with the quests and trying to keep him consistently advancing through all aspects of the game. Foundry work after a few weeks.

    My plan?

    - buy a computer (laptop) that will actually support Neverwinter b:embarrass

    - wander around the city and lands outside of the city to marvel at the designers' artwork

    - complete a quest or two

    - hang out with my guild

    - participate in local events

    - try to find Drizzt, Dalia, and Entreri

either that or follow truthseeker around all day and be the peanut gallery to everything and anything he is doing b:sin

Well, learn how to move around as I'm horrible with WASD, and no question this will be quicker than STO/CO ever was!

Once I get over that (and the inevetable solo mobbing my control wizard will cause,) I plan on exploring every little thing in NW's sections. I'm guessing that like most Cryptic games and the NWN series, we'll be "introduced" to certain chapters or quadrants (but have more than four places which is why I used chapters first,) and I'll look for things like those interesting off-color commentary conversations (I heard partying once in a video so it's there...) or the hidden caches of lore.

Oh, note to self: Since Cryptic is emphasizing Lore, learn if there is a game mechanic/RP mechanic and use it to its maximum becausse that's why the truthseeker stands for.

And then the completionist me will explore every chapter's section one at a time as introduced (and before going to the next one), and find every little thing that's interesting game-important to quests or not.
Lather rinse and repeat, and have a heckofa role-playing resource thing to do.

Oh yeah, and fit in time for delves and Foundry and PVP stuff too.

Based on the races available if I want to choose a wizard control option, I will be historically likely forced to take a race like tiefling over unavailable eladrin since now human focuses on Con instead of any stat. It seems based on screenshots the stats are Int/Wis and Cha for wizards; two of the three stats should be focused on those and it's likely we're going with Int/Cha w Tiefling. Pity no Int/Wis one. While some races stats were updated on their site, Drow and Tiefling are not.

Of course, if it goes more like a closer to some other ruleset 4e ways, this could become moot.

He keeps reincarnating as a new person every lifetime so for RP reasons it's fine. The question what does he look like when the dust settles and all races are final? Hoping for eladrin options but tiefling might be a good fit if Drow don't have Int options (and betting it's something like Dex and Cha if Drow historically tell me anything.)

Guess that covers all things I can think of until we know more about the game...

Not looking forward to WASD, going to try to get that xbox 360 controller to work for my new computer.

That would be awesome to have xbox like game play for action combat, seems appropriate.

Foundry, Foundry, Foundry as I've got a campaign to get started on. I assume I'll have beta time to learn the mechanics (combat and others) as I got my TL2 key. That knowledge will allow me to start right in.

I heard we'd get access to the Foundry before the games release and that content would most likely carry over so I may actually play the game, not the Foundry, at launch if that's the case.

I loath all controllers with a burning passion. I haven't owned a console since the PS2 and no matter how much I have used my brother's XBox I feel I will always hate it.

I'd rather blow a fortune on a computer that works a thousand times better than any console and keep my beloved mouse than touch a rotten modern console's controller. My Razer Naga Epic might have cost me ten times the amount of a console controller but it was worth every penny to have features of a controller without one of those god awful creations.
Although I have a Razer Nostromo the joystick feature only works in 4 directions rather than a joystick and I was considering buying the Logitech G13 to replace it but I'm not too sure since WASD never really phased me.

All I know is that there hasn't been a good controller invented since Nintendo 64. Long Live Keyboards, Mice and rebuildable upgradable computers. :-p

I was sorta jokeing but kind of not.

MMO's for me start out kinda like a wild one night stand. Fast and rough I grab onto the MMO and start punching it in the face and going to town. Thunder booms and the world rocks during the first few days to cap.

Then later when I am more familiar with the game I'll level an alt. This time its nice and slow and sensual. I like to cuddle up to it and wrap its hair around my hand and smell it. I whisper dreams in its ears while nipping them.

I would be glad to join the fun :)

As for me, i plan to play the game with my irl friends aswell, we are all pnp and MMO fans and we play for a long time together. Unfortenly duo my lack of creativity to create stories and my lack of inglish knowladge might keep me away from foundry although i think im pretty good at building stuffs lol

Im not planning to rush the lvl up thru 60 for neverwinter, i want to enjoy the story arc and try to keep more attention to lore, like truthseeker said i will probably also search for every little detail in the game and try to explore all the neverwinter world.

Damn, i cant wait to put my hands on this game, i rly have big expectations about this one :)

Will probably spend the first few days of release just sightseeing and soaking up the atmosphere, before building my character up slowly (I have a life away from the pc and time I do have will be shared with other MMOs).

Seeing as I never played a Drow in NWN1 or NWN2 I may do so this time.

I'm kinda torn I'm debating on using Cyptic's quests to lvl to max and saving the UGC till after (this would allow time for lots to build up) but I guess I'll have to wait and see. For me it depends on when I get into beta (I have a TL2 key (can't play that blasted game as it won't launch for some reason) but thats no guarantee I'll get in at a decent time). I'm going to try my hand at the Foundry (something I've never done before) and see what its like etc. Sigh I have to admit everytime I come to the site I click on the download like...sometimes multiple times hoping and praying...but alas it never changes *que crying*. I definitely want to try a drow and a tiefling not sure what class either will be but I definitely want a wiz and cleric:)

hehe. First thing I will do after logging in to search for people online and go through @handle list for familiar ones and hit add friends :)

[Also I would like a hidden option where I can write sub-classes of friends like "real friend" "enemy but friend" "never agrees with me" "I want to stab this one in the back" etc... ... ... jk :p ]

The first thing I'll do when I log in is to establish our guild space with whatever features are at my disposal. After we dry up the bar and tip the bar maids, I'm planning to grab as many guildies as I can and start exploring!

The Foundry I'll play with a bit before going to bed. I've got some plans to bring back the legend of Myth Dran..........

I'll probably spend hours on character creation (depending on how indepth it is), add friends to start adventuring with. Not really concerned about hitting max level day one but planning on doing all PVE content before I start crafting stories with the foundry.

After all pve from cryptic has been completed might grab a group of friends to take turns making adventures up every week or two.
