And she's over... I am really happy about everything I heard. New novels, D&D Next, and the future of the Realms. The Sundering.
So.. now, in relation to NWO... I am left wondering, what does this new future "world event," called "The Sundering," mean for Neverwinter Online? Is NWO in the present of the Sundering, or pre or post-Sundering? Is there any information out about the time period The Sundering takes place in and its correlation to the timeline of Neverwinter Online?
I feel they said a lot but really didn't tell us that much, still as a play tester I am happy with the direction of D&D next....time will tell.
I began to melt whenever Ed spoke. Oops, did I just post that? Blasted social media is addictive.
*waves his cane wildly and some passerby kid*
I really am looking forward to seeing where Next takes us, how back to the roots it is, and what the Realms' future holds. I just know that, with all the great things the editions brought us, I felt like I was slowly being turned into a computer program with all the rules, stipulations, changes, over abundance of endless source materials and so on. Sounds like Next is putting the DM back at the helm instead of having to worry about a plethora of "rules."

So far it reminds me more of a streamed down second ed than anything, but even th focus groups don't have all of the big picture yet.

I'm looking for an old school approach. The modular design of D&D Next is smart given the way the game has changed over 35+ years. That way it can be good for everyone. I just hope the simplified core rules of the finished product will retain that old school feel.
I used to play when I was younger but then we all grew apart.
I think Pen and Paper games could live if there was a program to find people and GMs. I'd love to play, Ive even tried to gather some people in my country but its nearly impossible. Somekind of program to share campaigns, quesst etc. I know theres small group somewhere in IRC.

Actually there are many programs like that such as fantasy grounds.....as a matter of fact I DM an old school Greyhawk campaign monthly using it.

The sooner we get past 4E the better.

If it has an old school feel... it will have a chance to succeed. If it feels like a rework of 4e it will fail miserably.
