WiCKiD Passed Away IRL - Request for Memorial NPC in his Honor

If you have been playing for any length of time in Neverwinter, then you know the player WiCKiD@geppetto5820. Well, today, I learned we lost this titan of the Neverwinter world...he passed away in real life.

This player was not your ordinary player. He took the time to always have something constructive and helpful to contribute, even when the the PE chatter went sour. He provided help to the most junior players without frustration or becoming annoyed.

He organized so many Dragon Runs in Well of Dragons, he OWNED those dragon.

If there is one person that everyone knew in game it was WiCKiD. May you rest in peace my friend.

Cryptic, my request is to create an NPC that looks like his toon, name him WiCKiD to provide players the Dragon Run information. Place WiCKiD in Well of Dragon until the new module is released, then move him to the new Dragon Run module being released.

Wow, he was everywhere. I saw him organizing all sorts of BHEs, like ape in Vallenhaus when that first started. I can’t think of a more well known name in NW besides some of the most known NPCs. It’ll be a strange place without his name popping up all over.

WiCKiD and I were good friends in Game and quite often we made fun of eachother in PE due we both are dwarven with stinky feets (and the needed mints) a lot, we laughed a lot in PM about the reactions in PE zone chat..

He will be remembered by me...

Cryptic should take this in consideration, players are humans, and companies are managed by humans. Players invest a big part of their lives in games, especially in MMOs, and this kind of things make games better.

Everyone knew this guy, more or less, was allways talking about everything in game, allways positive, allways trying to help. RIP

This needs to happen, please. An NPC, a statue in PE, anything to keep the memory of WiCKiD alive in NW. He spent most of his time making sure everyone was welcomed to this game, constant presence in PE's chat helping those in need.

To have a statue of his dwarf placed in Protector's Enclave would be awesome. I think some sort of memorial would definitely be appropriate. He was such a well known figure in this game. From his presence in the Well of Dragons to Protector's Enclave, he will be sorely missed. Some sort of memorial would keep the memory alive of a person who did so much to help so many.

Protectors Enclave will feel empty without WICKID, a statue or npc would be great to honor one of the most dedicated and known players of this game - and I believe he would love that^^

The Loving Life Alliance, which WiCKiD built and loved, endorses and requests an in-game memorial for him. Here's the email I sent to Community Manager Julia:

Hi Julia,

I have to share some bad news. Perhaps you've heard it already. The inimitable WiCKiD of NWPC passed away Wednesday morning in a motorcycle accident. WiCKiD was a NW player from the beginning and was passionate about the game. At home he was a 72-year-old proud Viet Nam veteran who loved his bike and his family with whom he still worked.

In the game, he was a legend. WiCKiD was well-known in PE chat, sometimes offering advice or answering questions, sometimes trolling a bit depending on his mood. But he was generous and kind overall. He was a community-builder. His love of the game and of those of us who played with him was infectious. He created the Dragonrunners channel to help coordinate Dragon Runs, which he enjoyed and where he was known as one of the finest "callers" of that event. He created the "Talk Tank" channel, dedicated to helping tanks improve their skills. Both of those channels continue to be very active, and their members are grieving.

But the greatest community he built was the Loving Life Alliance. We became a family through him because he believed we were one. He was our dad, our gramps, our grumpy uncle sometimes, but he truly did love life, Neverwinter, and all of the NWPC family. We miss him terribly already.

On behalf of the Loving Life Alliance, we'd like to humbly request that Cryptic memorialize WiCKiD in-game. It doesn't have to be fancy, just something that new players can ask, "Who's this WiCKiD?" and someone will remember him and tell them about this legendary figure who was a part of NWPC for nearly nine years, who built communities and families, and who made a positive impact on players' lives.

I have known WickID since day1. He was supportive and caring. He was willing to help anyone, as long as you were willing to listen. His banter in PE was something I shall miss deeply. I think it is especially sad that his passing come just before the release of dragons since he was the reason we all run to WoD at xx:45. If I could make the decision, I would make a "talk to" NPC in the new MOD area. Not to give a quest, just to say remember to take your scrolls and pots. May you rest in peace WickID.

WiCKiD we all already miss you <3 Please DEVS many please do something in memorial for this awesome player, he deserves to become NPC and stay inside Neverwinter forever, PE is the place where WiCKiD belongs, he helped me so much with my tank build and helped a lot of other players too. And he always had a nice and fun thing to say to everyone on Zone chat :D I beg you DEVS please create something to us keep looking at WiCKiD inside our Neverwinter world: a statue, a NPC, a title... doesn't matter what, but please create something, we need to keep look at WiCKiD and not let him die inside Neverwinter.
