The problem is some wanted the old currency and the old rewards and others wanted the new curency and the new rewards.

The only safe solution is to offer both currencies and both rewards and each character can decide how to spend them. both rewards would be totalled and any spending would deduct the same amount from both reward totals.

For example, you complete a Legendary Conquerors quest and get 5 rewards in both columns. Then you decide to spend 5 rewards on Legendary Shards and both reward colums are reduced to 0.

    Seems like an easy fix.

What new currency, old currency? They put the Priest of Myrkul store over Sybella's. They fixed that and in the process reset everything that had been done for Sybella.
Nitocris explained they added Battle Pass currency as a reward for Legacy quests.

I am missing something. Why do they need to add more quest to get battle pass currency? Even without those extra quests, one can finish that in one day casually. With it, it means it will be no extra effort at all.

What is the status of this situation? There has been radio silence. The response to the ticket I submitted said it was a known issue and referred me to this thread. The right thing to do would simply be to flag as complete all Legacy Campaign quests that were reset. Some who hadn't completed them would benefit unjustly, but so what? This is infuriating, and it is completely unreasonable to expect those of us who completed these quests to do them again.

They stated that they would update this week. It's only Tuesday. If you haven't heard an update by Friday morning, tag me here.

Support got back to me and told me this destruction of work and effort was intended. Here's what they said:

My apologies for the delay. I have heard back from our specialist about this and based on their review, there are no issues with it. You only received that message due to the legacy quests being redone by the development team and it was intended due to some fixes made. What they suggest that you do is to take the quests again and redo them again.

I know that it can be a hassle to try it out again and we do apologize for that. Regardless, i hope this resolves the issue for you.

I usually do some sybella stuff on 18 toons.

What happened last week is the exact reason why, since i started to play, I have always tried to never leave a completed quest unreturned. Especially when I know there is a bug more or less linked to one quest or a category of quests.

With this reset, I have partially "lost" 18 adventures in the river district (which were all at 4/5 quests : it's the only sybella I don't do straight in the run because i don't bother doing any quest but the one to save the dockers) and probably some unfinished % conquests here and there.

In my opinion, and that's only my opinion, the bonus on currencies for the campaign up as x2 each week is, at best, marginal (it took me a bit less than 3 months, maybe 1h/day, to get my bard all her boons without paying attention to what was on x2). And since the currency used to buy stuff in Sybella's shop is never doubled (though i think it happened once, on the very first x2 all legacy campaigns ?), I don't really see the point in waiting any x2 legacy to return Sybella's quests.

Obviously, if you are still grinding campaigns and boons, or if you are madly deeply in love with Juma's bags, so you were waiting the right x2 to return a load of quests, then it is a blow and part of your time unfortunately made a "waste" by the reset of the quests.

Is this situation annoying ? yep.
Is that a tragedy ? nope.

Time to go back to working on appearances, then.

The entire situation could have been avoided had the devs bothered to forewarn us what they were going to do and what would happen. It is entirely on them. Not the people that didn't turn the quests in for whatever reason.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they forgot this would happen and when the complaints started rolling in they had an "oops...!!" moment.

Hence the warning for console players...

this did not affect me much on the legacy campaign quests, since I generally turn them in if I see that they are completed - I had them in various states partially completed. I feel sorry though for those who were saving their completions to turn in during a specific bonus event.

kreatyve said that we should get an update by this week, but it is already Saturday now, and I have not seen anything from the devs.

would they even be able to determine the previous completion state for legacy campaign quests prior to the update/wipe?

I am glad that they gave advance warning to console players - this is something that they should be able to anticipate before fixing something that would resets progress, so that due notification can be served beforehand.

Let's hope this new team doesn't have that oops! moment, where they delete the account and say, no problem you can start over. You might want to take pictures of your stuff for the insurance adjuster.

@kreatyve It is Sunday, consider yourself tagged. Still getting 'Trigger' messages on quest turn-in

how do we "tag" kreatyve to try to get an update from nitrocris or a dev? maybe this issue has been swept under the rug.

    It was swept weeks ago.

You simply put an @ before their username as in: @kreatyve

I presume it is pointless to ask if they plan to compensate, there is hardly any proof we did anything at all. Nothing the forum moderator can do about this, they are a player who can poke the community manager, with a pointy stick. The support won't or can't help, as @behoarder#5973 stated above. The database is a done deal in most cases and the developers... hey! @nitocris83 exactly who are the developers for today?? I keep seeing @percemer in here willing to talk and share with us, but he is in Europe right? Is there anyone we might know still working in the California offices?

With all that said, time to get back on those Sybella quests. I can hardly wait to see what the 14 year-old intern deletes next.

  • There is likely no easy way for the admins to identify what quests were completed and awaiting turn-in at that particular point in time - it might even be impossible.

Yeah, this is definitely the kind of blunder they fix by giving everyone the benefit of the doubt.

  • armadeonxarmadeonx Member Posts: 4,952 Arc User
Sometimes they give replacement rewards, sometimes you gotta suck it up. I suspect that giving everyone a bunch of Sybella currency would be a step too far so the second option most likely applies here.

Can’t we at least get a new title “Screwed over by Cryptic”?

Nah! This one is minor comparing many others that are more deserved for that title.
