I don't know if anybody's written about it before, but. . . Maybe the time has come to change these nightmarish women's underwear, something worth looking at? I don't know who designed it, but he didn't like womens very much. Part of fashion does not include this disgusting one, and errors in some others cause this shocker to be seen in all its horrifying splendor. If you can't change this disgust, give us the opportunity to dye this odiousness. . .
I agree. It would be about time we could pick the color of our character's underwear.
Tieflings (several colors) and Drows (gray and black only) can already "chose" their underwear's color by picking the right preset in character creation.
I understand that giving us the ability to disable it is out of the question, or would take a lot of coding, due to all the revealing armor meshes but please at least give us the ability to dye it.
Ultimately, a higher quality underwear skin already exists in Primal Paints. If it were possible to get this without the actual paint and just the underwear skins, that would address the issue. Alternately, make it so that if Primal Paints were selected as the appearance and then the appearance disabled, only the body paint gets disabled but not the underwear upgrade.

OK, after opening the dye packs I had on one of my characters, this is what I got.
specifically Dark Leather, Dusk Armor, Bandit, Moonstone, Moonstone Fancy, Samite, Siege Standard, Gloomwrought and Adamant - are those new in Mod 17?
Adamant, Samite, and Dark Leather were dyes I've seen on the first-tier Mastercraft armors that were on AH. I never crafted them myself to know if they came pre-dyed or not.
Warlock: Don't want to let you down but I am hell bound. - Imagine Dragons Cleric: You can be an angel of mercy or give in to hate. - Shinedown Wizard: The more the dark consumes me, I pretend I'm burning bright. - Shinedown Barbarian: Am I beautiful... as I tear you to pieces? - In This Moment
so i did some testing with the dye sets i had and found some mistakes:
Emerald -> gets unlocked from jungle cloak dye (onlysay from the emerald dragonscyle dye) Chocolate, Elvish Mead -> still says hunter ranger Sandstone -> still says devoted cleric, Sylvian_Grove Cloudy White -> gets unlocked from cleric dye pack (and also from high harvest? although im not sure on that one) (onlysays from the chill wind dye) Deep Forest -> gets unlocked from barb dye pack (only says from the ebon darkness dye) Dark Skies, Olive -> barb dye pack doesnt unlock those there are more than three colors which should get unlocked by the barb dye, it acually unlocks Deep Forest, Werewolf Fur and Rough Iron Stormy Waters, Liliac Gray -> says seige veteran dye Behir Blue -> says only veteran dye so far the crimson dye pack isnt mentioned on any color and cant be converted, maybe delete it from the tradebar store or let it unlock some colors

There is an issue with some fashion items (mostly Halloween items) - they cannot be added to the library or used in any way.
The items in question are Mask of the Owl, Orcus Mask, Mask of Lurua, Jack o' Liar Mask, Eye Tyrank Mask and Mask of the Pit Fiend.
On mimic I have no issues changing outfits in the Fashion Wear tab, that is working well. The Gear Appearance tab though takes my AD when I hit Save and Wear, but the Save and Wear button continues to flash and when I navigate away from the the appearance tab I am warned that the appearance was not saved. And it is not. Incidentally I tried to use the bug report tool in-game, but it said it could not connect. So off to the forums I came

Release Notes In your appearance tab, you will not be able to save any changes you make to your appearance.
Hoping for improvements...

There is something odd going on with the Moonstone dye pack (where does that come from anyhow?) - it looks like it is supposed to unloack a lot more than 3 colors: Mineral green, Teal, Fartouched Bluebell, Lilac, Green Velvet, Skeleton Bone etc.
I haven't read this whole thread or even a lot of it. so if someone else has said this already mea culpa. but i'd like to see some fashion items that are designed to look good with dragonborn. silly is fine. but most of the fashion items just look stoopid on dbs. I feel Like I have one choice and that's feywild because wings on a db are fun. everything else looks like trying to get a quarterback into a tight suit. not being able to use most head pieces on a db also is sad.
I've heard this next part mentioned before so i assume someone else has mentioned it in this thread and whoever you are I second or third the sentiment, but it would be super awesome to have the racial characteristics separated from the race. so I can choose to be db or I can choose to be a moonelf. but still keep my db racial characteristics if I choose. you would probably make more than a little money on more db race packs because I've heard many people say they won't roll a db because they are so ugly even if they are superior for skill set. me personally I'm all about stats over looks.. but it would be nice to have some variance from db db db. I also dont' mind the ugly dragonborn. I think they're kind of funny.. but i get where people are coming from on the topic.

Here is why Otyugh Brown is problematic:
It can only obtained from Roar of the Pack. The only way to obtain that is to buy it for banners of the Fallen, which can only be obtained through SH PvP.
Now, this means that players are either forced to do PvP.....which is pretty much a dealbreaker for some, or to buy the pack from PvPers in the AH - which would be OK, except that nobody really does SH PvP - it is dead, dead, dead - even more dead than PvP in general.
Some solution is needed.
And yes, I am still trying to find where Dark Leather, Dusk Armor, Bandit, Moonstone, Moonstone Fancy, Samite, Siege Standard, Gloomwrought and Adamant dye packs are from. Has anyone run into any of them ?
Hoping for improvements...

I have never seen either Roar of the Pack or Pride of the Pack for sale on the AH, and it's not for lack of looking.

No, Roar of the Pack and Pride of the Pack are just bought from the SH vendor - the problem is that the currency used is the "Banners of the fallen", and that is in a pretty short supply.
The unanswered question is where the Dark Leather, Dusk Armor, Bandit, Moonstone, Moonstone Fancy, Samite, Siege Standard, Gloomwrought and Adamant dye packs are supposed to come from. It has been said that we should be able to unlock all the colors - so how/where do we get those packs?
Please note which colors we already had applied to gear/fashion and add them to our color libraries. It's really inconvenient to have to repurchase (or transfer from a bank character) all the dyes I already had applied.
With the upcoming preview update, the majority of the dye pack issues should be fixed. Crimson Dusk was still be worked on so that fix won't appear until a future update, but do let us know of any other dye issues that are still occurring after the update.
Here is my only first world problem with the appearance system;
This is Silvane Stardust wearing gear already transmuted into Vistani and dyed in mod 16. In preview only her Vistani boots appear and not the pants but they are a combination item. Apparently they broke up the set? She has Drowcraft pants I keep invisible because they cover these. I took the Drowcraft pants off in preview, but again only her boots appear in the game not seeing these pants with the stitching and wrinkles.
I know a work around would be replacing her old Drowcraft pants for something else that looks close to this and dying it purple and turning on the visuals. But there should be no work around needed. I desire to keep this looking just as it is and I really don't care about the minor percentile changes an upgrade will give me. I can never get my Vistani gear back for her, everyone knows the gear is unique and it is bound on pickup. This is transmuting the Bandit Lord's gear sold in the back alley of Barovia. Also I have invested 5000 AD a few times getting it transmuted before this.
I hadn't mentioned it in this post, but had mentioned it several times before in others that just providing a simple Illusion:Race clicky token might be plausible as a workaround for DB fashion issues. Sure, I love my black death fairy fashion, but I also miss my original halfling Guy Fawkes pirate before class re-roll to DB. I'd also suggested an Illusion:Class clicky so you could fashion as a different class 'aka, Going Undercover!' ...or a combo of both into one item, maybe a campaign reward that would let you do both from the Tower of Illusion. Sad that a game with so much magic in it cannot handle programming a simple glamour cantrip ...
I think the boots/pants combo with Vistani and Primal was a bug. If it matters, the Chultan Merchant pants might be close in appearance.
Today I grabbed a pair of Black Earth pants from the AH for 100 AD just in case.
@erikanudan if it was up to me, I would say "anything goes" on appearance changes, but Cryptic makes some coin on appearance tokens, name changes, etc.. The only reason we are getting this upgrade, very few players like ourselves, buy costumes & dyes. Most people I see in game lack the inspiration for filling in the character history to any degree or creating a name that doesn't start with triple X and end with numbers. I am not saying they can't or shouldn't, just I suspect their first choice of gaming is along the lines of Call of Duty.

Guess i'm in the minority then, all my characters have proper names and backstories. personaly I like the change since i don't have to have all my transmutes clogging my bag. also, can switch back and forth provided they get the save bug fixed.

I'm one of those people that refuse to buy the dragonborn because to me they look butt ugly. And I don't want to see butt ugly every time I log in to the game - no matter how good the stat bonus is. So yep, probably the only way I will every buy it is if I can get a racial appearance change token to go with it. And I would make it look like my current elf or maybe a half elf. Same goes for the new Gith race tbh. I'll pick it up for free but I'll never roll one.
I really don't see how the developers can call this "module 17" after you must complete 16 to the end and access the 3rd floor of the Yawning Portal. They said no more B campaigns and this even uses the same map. It doesn't upset me, but new people who don't read the forums who haven't finished up the Undermountain will be asking questions the 13th. They will be upset to find out they must complete mod 16 to start mod 17.
Got interrupted. To continue, I think this module will have high praise for the fashion and appearance changes. Assuming the fallout of the module content doesn't squelch the accolades.

This isn't a new concept though. You need to finish Mod 4 before working on Mod 5(Tyranny of Dragons/Well of Dragons) the WoD map did eventually unlock earlier but you still need to work on the campaign tasks from M4 before you work on the M5 campaign. Also you need to finish Mod 12 before Mod 13(Sosh River/Omu).
I would definitely like to see a collection to fashion/transmute function implemented.
Anything your character has in their collections tab are automatically added to the relevant fashion/transmute section.
This would stop people having to grind entire events they might have already done, just to get items they already owned, but maybe transmuted in the past (Winter scarves etc).
This would also allow us to "get" one of a kind items back (Interns fashion gear for example) that we might have stupidly discarded.
At the moment it seems that the "Save and Wear" button is still not working properly ... consumes the ADs and golds but the complete created is not saved, except for the weapons that on my ranger can save the new look I choose including colors .
Is it possible to add a function in the new Fashion Tab to disable the visual effects of weapons and armor? a kind of "hide visual effect primary weapon", "hide visual effect armor"?
I would not mind even if in addition to hiding the effects of armor and weapons there was the possibility of choosing your own visual effect that you want to give to weapons and armor, just do it like it happens now for clothes but ... do it for the effects visuals, ice-like effects for weapons or armor etc ... this could add a further extra customization without having to depend on the enchantment you are wearing.

The mystery of the Adamant dye pack is solved, thanks to Bayaz.
It turned out that this pack used to be available, as a lower Tier result of a failed Masterwork craft.
It seems there is no way to obtain this pack today, and I strongly suspect the same applies to the Dark Leather and Samite dye packs
Now, the obvious solution would be to add those three packs as crafting tasks. I still have no idea where the Dusk Armor, Bandit, Moonstone, Moonstone Fancy, Siege Standard and Gloomwrought dye packs are supposed to be from, but at least this clears up a part of the issue.
Seems like the only way to unlock white now,is either using adamant or samit (if i remember the second one correctly):
1.: I am wearing my fashion dyed with adamant atm on live, it would be nice to get the colour unlocked with M17.
2. Please make Adamant (and the rest) available through crafting. I own two packs of adamant, and could probably make a nice sum of ADs with them, but i am not sure how many are still out there.
Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master

Another twist.... the names of some dyes changed. The Adamant Dye is now named "Silvery". Not "Silvery Dye Pack" ... just Silvery"

Cleric: You can be an angel of mercy or give in to hate. - Shinedown
Wizard: The more the dark consumes me, I pretend I'm burning bright. - Shinedown
Barbarian: Am I beautiful... as I tear you to pieces? - In This Moment
Emerald -> gets unlocked from jungle cloak dye (onlysay from the emerald dragonscyle dye)
Chocolate, Elvish Mead -> still says hunter ranger
Sandstone -> still says devoted cleric, Sylvian_Grove
Cloudy White -> gets unlocked from cleric dye pack (and also from high harvest? although im not sure on that one) (onlysays from the chill wind dye)
Deep Forest -> gets unlocked from barb dye pack (only says from the ebon darkness dye)
Dark Skies, Olive -> barb dye pack doesnt unlock those
there are more than three colors which should get unlocked by the barb dye, it acually unlocks Deep Forest, Werewolf Fur and Rough Iron
Stormy Waters, Liliac Gray -> says seige veteran dye
Behir Blue -> says only veteran dye
so far the crimson dye pack isnt mentioned on any color and cant be converted, maybe delete it from the tradebar store or let it unlock some colors
The items in question are Mask of the Owl, Orcus Mask, Mask of Lurua, Jack o' Liar Mask, Eye Tyrank Mask and Mask of the Pit Fiend.
New yellow looks washed down, its saturation severely decreased
