So Mod 16 dropped 5 days ago and I am scratching my head on what to do now:
- I completed the Undermountain campaign on two of my mains that I care to use nowadays - Both have the gear from the Master Expeditions (IL gear: 950) - I have maxed the Seals of the Mountain as there is nothing I need (IL gear: 940) - I have maxed Seals of the Crown and have nothing to spend it on; gear for 300 RP is not worth it IMO - Armor Penetration, Critical Strike, Awareness and Accuracy are capped (when they aren't scaled down) - My enchantments are between level 11-14, and I have no desire to raise them anymore as I'm effectively capped in stats that matter - I could grind for runic pieces, but I'd need 600 x 2 resonances, and the IL of the gear 965 is hardly an improvement
The dungeons I used to run for the end rewards (Ultimate Enchanting Stones) are now no longer able to completed that I know of:
1) Haven't attempted Cradle of the Death God, but have heard reports it is near impossible 2) Tomb of the Nine Gods is bugged with immortal Deviant Souls, and that is if you can get past Withers' perma stun phases 3) Castle Ravenloft has always been a PITA, but now sometimes you cannot block the sisters' Theft of Vitae
The Random Queues have useless rewards, if you can even finish some of them: - Anything with Thoon Hulks is bugged as their charge attack is broken again - Spellplague Caverns Kabal boss is apparently bugged - Wraiths in Valindra's tower move too fast so you cannot out-run them in the red AoE boss phase (what a joke!) - The only thing of 'value' which drops I guess is rough AD (the value of which was diluted since the new ZAX conversion cap), but what do I need to purchase? I don't need preservation wards or coalescent wards if upgrading my enchantments don't provide any discernible benefit
PvP, the last thing I really enjoyed, is dead: - There has not been any class balancing in this aspect of the game in this Mod - The PvP Leaderboard no longer exists, so I can't see if people are even playing it anymore - In truth it has been slowly dying over the past 10 or so mods, I shouldn't be surprised ... I'm more sad about it than anything else
Stronghold Dragonflights, the only 'true' Alliance/Stronghold co-op: - Give outdated rewards - Currently the SH maps are lagged if more than 10 players are on the map it seems - Before our Alliance could get through about 20 dragons in 10 minutes, now we are lucky if we down 2 in this time
Masterworks is collecting dust: - Recipes have not been updated - Nothing of value left to sell, despite having MW III in all professions - No need to farm Guild Marks (that is if you could still donate to the coffer if they aren't maxed e.g. profession resources, surplus equipment are all maxed)
Foundry is gone, so any sort of creativity on behalf of the players is gone with it: - I used to run these to see the other worlds and stories people created; just walking around some of the RP zones was enjoyable when I used to wait for queues to pop - Now it is gone and we cannot even access archived quests
TL;DR PvP is dead, RQs are bugged and don't reward anything I need, I'm capped in the 'useful' stats, CR/TONG/CODG risk outweighs any reward for replayability due to bugs/difficulty etc
So besides running the Master Expeditions x3/day for a possible chance of Alabaster weapons (a main-hand has dropped twice on the one character, but nothing else) what is there left to do in this game?
The simple answer to that question is this. Nothing but wait. This has been my issue for awhile even before mod 16 hit. If you completed everything in game then it all comes down to randoms and thats really it. If random ques or dungeons is not your thing then not sure what else to tell you.

I absolutely, 100% agree with you. I am not quite finished (unable to play much since the release for family reasons), but once I am done, I will be just as stuck.
I can think of the following:
Wait for LoMM to be re-launched. There has just been silence on why it was removed - it was available on Preview, and it wasn't any more buggy than the rest of what was released.
Collect achievements. Seriously - that was really the only thing I had left before Mod 16 launched, so I went around collecting all those I could get, including the "kill 5000 elemental cultists" ones.
Spend the spare time looking for a new game to play - if you find a PvE-focused, solo/casual, high-fantasy-themed one, drop me a PM.

Not true; in prior mods you at least could run old content, help other players out in lower campaign zones, etc..
With the update once a player hits 80 the game is just well not worth playing any more do to the horrible scaling
You can collect your daily VIP key. That's all I've done for the last month, it's all I will do for the next few weeks. I'm not sure what else I can say here without being moderated again so I'll leave it at that.
Obviously you can play the true endgame. Bug testing for the devs! It's an endgame that never stops.

I've been grinding Runic Encounters, you can get armor you can restore to 965 iL, though I've been collecting the runes for when LoMM does get opened and I can restore that armor (990/1010 iL).

I collect VIP key. I do some invocation. I may do crafting to upgrade the 4th workshop 4 (no particular good reason). I have not re-spec/spec any character. I have not done one combat since mod 16. I have not stepped foot into Undermountain. I read some guild chat. That is all for now.

If you haven't realized yet this new game has been made for new players who will like the game when leveling up and when hit 60 - 70 they can choose between leaving the game or pay cash. Old players are not given a shirt.

What's there to say that hasn't been said in the countless other threads that are exactly the same? Not to seem all white knight or anything, but the pattern here is the same as it was on the BSN all those years ago: If they don't respond to everything someone posts, they're ignoring them. If they do respond, it's not good enough. If you need any evidence of that, just re-read your post that I quoted here. Since the only acceptable response is "we're going to roll back the changes", and they have no intention of doing so, they can't win, can they.
I've seen what a game looks like when a balance pass totally breaks it, and this isn't it. The one thing they do need to add to the game, however, is a canoe, or a raft mount, so that people that are actually trying to play the game can navigate through PE.
Reading comprehension is essential in a medium that requires reading for communication.

I'm in the same boat.. so I've been using my time to take ALT's through the campaign.. 4 done.. 4 left to finish.
So far the only people that I know of actually running 70 content are either:
1. "It can't be that bad" types, that then go "meh this isn't worth it" 2. "I'm to stubborn to do the campaign and get better gear, and I just want to farm AD" types that then go "I can't do this"
On a side note the restored gear is a bad joke. The cost for that gear is WAY to high, for basically no reward. Also the loot tables need to be vastly improved for all the old 70 content, now that it is more difficult and takes longer to run.

Last week's SKT 3 heroics and an epic couldn't be completed because we were all 80 and scaled down to 70 for the Heroic. The mobs there were also 80. I was literally doing single and double-digit damage.
They have really screwed up. MMOs are about advancing your character and becoming more powerful and they are now punishing players for having done so. If you leveled to 80, you have effectively boned yourself out of all game content except Undermountain. After years at 70 cap, 80 could be gotten in less than 2 days and 950 gear is stupid easy to accumulate.
There's no carrot at the end of the stick anymore, so why bother?
its funny they tell us that undermountain is the bigges release in history of neverwinter and the content they give us is done in only one week. Do you see they are kidding with us.

You of course got a lot of stuff to do. * Accumulare IL 1010 gear(starting May 9th) * Level up all enchants and runes to 15 * Level up all insignias to orange * Obtain and level level 80 weapons
The problem is that as the game stands today, it is really very little reason to bother.
* Lets hope LoMM is no-trivial so gear matters * Lets hope mod 17 brings 2-3 new level 80 dungeons and tons of other level 80 content. The focus of mod 17 MUST be to fill up with level 80 unscaled content.
Rollback BEFORE mod 16 and FIX the problems BEFORE releasing.
My barbarian has 15k item level and half the new 000k points than my paladin with 10k item level yet my paladin can wipe the floor with my barbarian. On top of that, my barabarian takes MORE damage using class special ability where before he'd take less ... go figure!
Most of my toons are in sea of moving ice and fishing is broken!
Can't get items to sell for gold for crafting as THAT is broken too! No item drops ... just stones.
Not even attempted to set up my other 5 toons until all this is fixed, AND I PAY VIP for a stuffed game!
To bored players, I have a suggestion: help middle geared players who can't progress (or have a lot of difficulty to) because of the broken system. get some empathy and sympathy for them, since they can't afford doing something in game with a hand tied, like yourselves. You can provide some advices, some bodyguarding or some spare astral diamonds you don't use but some are starving for.
Except that 2 of the 6 Challenge Campaign tasks so far cannot be completed. This week's Sword Coast Adventures one sent me to Pirates Stronghold to rescue prisoners. I am 80, scaled down to 60. The mobs were EIGHTY ONE.
Uhm. there is a way around that. Do Ballad of Baphomet for one of the quests, and replay the campaign for the rest, but yea.....the broken scaling is bad.
What's worse is the sloppiness. You see, I reported the issue with this when testing the Challenge Campaigns on March 9th. They did go and fix the first group of mobs, who had killed me earlier...but now you get killed by the second group instead. Fun, eh ? Seriously.... whoever is in charge of QC should start looking for a new job.

there goes my issue and reason im taking a break, cant be arsed at this point, literally going back to old dungeons makes you look like a newbie who has never played the game, im aware that dungeons like tong are still bugged but i went into there and was barely scratching anything, mainly due to the fact that my stats were way below the cap. running ME over and over and over and over is not my thing. so lets hope in about a month they get their HAMSTER sorted.

nah, you do that urselve, gl and tell us how it goes for you. you must be nuts if you think a lvl 80 going back to old zones can carry anyone as the game is right now, its the other way round, its the lowbies carrying you due to cap. You dont need to be a genius to see this

there is so much spam in there i don't see how you could even have a normal conversation. lfg lfg lfg lfg lfg all the bloody time. If it's not that, its politics (YP is worse than PE sometimes for this!). I just keep chat on the log tab.
but back on topic, Iv'e tried to self time gate the new content so i don't plow through it, I follow the story until im asked to do something in my log book then i'm done there for the day.
