Make it minimum item level of whatever and Add to the queue system
I suggest players boycott this until its added to the queue system such as the CTA events
I would just rather see the dungeons returned to the game. No event required for them. Just have them back where they never should have been taken from.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
There needs to be a public que for this event. It is hard to get a group together without the public que.
I do agree with some of the others, it is rather difficult and perhaps should be nerfed a bit not so much people can speed through it but enough that parties don't get one hit by mobs.
I also think the fashion items should be bind on equip so people can auction them (what am i supposed to do with three shirts?)

This event is certainly problematic in it's bugged form and too long.
But be specific. What is "PAY TO WIN" About this event?
You cannot buy anything in this event with Zen, cash... or even AD for that matter.
As for "Elite", it is not exclusive at all. Get 4 friends/guildies/alliance members, form a party and enter. Done.
The difficulty on the first 2-3 rounds is < Tong-level. The 5th round I would compare to FBI at worst. A challenge, but hardly requiring BiS (or, in your words "ELITE" gear. I completed 5 rounds last night on my 5th alt (15.5k... hardly "ELITE"). I mostly was bored by the 5th round.
Please explain how my "ELITE" alt could have paid to win the event.

they should rather up the difficulty, this thing is easier then all T3 Dungeons. Optimal GS of 16k... with a 16k Party every Boss in there is down in a few seconds at most

i have no problem with helping someone out, altough my Guildmates and Friends ingame usually dont just leech of off others but play the game. If you just hit lvl 70 and still have leveling gear on then maybe this Event isnt for u. To many ppl in this game have the mentality of "dont want to put any effort into it and i also dont want to have to coordinate with other ppl in my group to the smallest extend".
Super grindy and super elitist. Will pass completely.
Tales of old from what I have seen has the BiS gear for DPS; you definitely don't want to pass on this if you play a DPS. I can see OP and DC asking for payment to run this if the gear is not BiS for a DC; now if the items were bound to account it would be alt friendly for support players and IMO a better way to setup the items from the Tales of Old store.

thats not exactly what i meant. all i'm saying is they need to balance it out more so that lower power players can have an equal chance at getting things without feeling like they are being dragged through.

ok, well letting ppl que for it, as u and others mentioned, would certainly help. Maybe they could do smth with the rising difficulty of the dungeon. So that its easier at the start but gets more challenging then it is now in the 4th and 5th run. (or just add like 1-2 stages). Also the Bosses and Adds feel kinda out of wack difficulty whise. (some big mobs have more HP then the Bosses, or atleast that was my impression) Another thing to consider is that this event is eventually giving you BIS gear for dps (altough this might change till we get the gear) so it should imo not be super easy to obtain.
I just find it odd that Cryptic and other companies think it is useful to spend time and effort programming content that is only going to be viable/played by less than 30% of their player base.
I certainly get that people who have worked their buns off to get 15K and higher gear don't want to be grouped with bots, wanderers, or people who just zoomed to 70, stuck Barovia gear on their char, and left it at that.
However Neverwinter already has an IL-based queue ranking system. If you are going to put in an event, and you know you will be running it multiple times over the years, why the heck wouldn't you put in that 20% of extra effort and make it so various people can run the <9K, the 9-13k, the 14-16k and the 17K+ version? (Put the dividing lines wherever you like).
Of course, one issue is that apparently Cryptic has trouble making even a single version of an event work, so making it scalable would likely introduce all new bugs. On the other hand, having it accessible to 80% or more of your player base might make it worth actually putting in the time to fix those bugs.

Could you please elaborate on this? Is the Tales of Old neck + waist combo better than Orcus/MW3/whatever? Or are you talking about the artifact?
Speaking of which, does anybody know what the stat at legendary for Tales of Old Neck and Waist are? And what are the stats for the Mythic Tales of Old Artifact?
Have we really come so far that every Event that is not a level 15 CTA is considered to hard?
Yes, unfortunatly yes.
Game was already so super easy and not demanding at all, that now anything demanding in skill/time/proper class build/gear is considered a elitist content or a torture for most players and a general call for spending money.
Maybe its just me, but I noticed for some time now that in general people/players are more and more demanding. They want to have best things/gear/items etc. without any effort. Any price asked for anything is always to high. They dont want to earn something just to get something, and it ends up like this.
Well.....if you read the News article about the event....they DO mention specifically that it's for players at level 15+.....sooooo.....
One more thing: I generally do not like stuff in the inventory that you cannot sell and cannot discard at the same time. I do understand something like Makos' ring - things that might be important for future story, but the trinkets of the old? Really? That is even worse than barovia quest items because now I have really no way how to empty the space in the inventory out of that junk.

Nobody knows about Legendary Neck and Waist yet (if i had to guess i would say +2 all abilities at blue/rare quality, +3 at epic/purple and +4 at legendary/orange).
It is already possible to know about the mythic artifact because you can buy it on the first day if you got 35 coins of tales old (but i didn't buy mine yet), so anyone that already bought and refined could say what are the stats.
And for me the major problem is not low item level (as far as i know the event scale everybody to 16k, so the only thing that matters is that you have the right gear like Fured Kiuno + Heels of Fury on a melee character for example), the major problem is people that don't know how to play or screw up because they are in a hurry.
I've seen groups losing lifes because the dps aggros before the tank, or because people don't avoid red, or because someone want to stop at every single sideroom or chest and other someone doesn't want to then the party got split and dies.
Do a one chapter with new players is nothing to be afraid of. You don't need an elite BiS team to complete the first 2 chapters, far from it... But the queue will allow a lot more people to get in. Sure you'll have people complaining, but you always have people complaining. At least with the queue, some people would be able to complete it. Not 100% success maybe, but still, more people being able to do it.
If you get into a decent group then 5x is pretty easy even if it is repetitive, boring, and time consuming. How to get into a decent group? Have a decent item level and dont think your 8k item level ravenloft starter kit is going to get people wanting to invite you. Does this event exclude the trash horde from being invited to good groups? Of course but they can still make groups with other trash horde people if they want.
The way this event is structured, according to what others say, is that you either do a single 5x plus 4x to get to 45 coins or you run up to forty five 1x to get your 45 coins (or whatever number running 2x to get to 45 coins is).
It is not a difficult event but if you start adding the trash horde then it will become very difficult very quickly. The problem for the trash horde is, rightly, that no one with any sense wants them in their group.
I would really like it if the trash horde got access to this event as a queue because not being able to kick leechers, getting multiple leechers in your group, getting people who 'want to explore and have the right to do so' (yeah, right), getting follow bots, and best of all not being able to leave without getting penalised would really generate some serious hate for Cryptic.
Might even get some much needed changes to the abomination that is random queues if people start raging about leechers/bots/idiots spoiling the event for them.
You seem to be a despicable person but I'll try to answer that.
How in Earth do you care if people you call "trash horde" get a queue to at least try to get into the dungeon? As I understand your speech, you will NEVER, EVER run with them because you seem to be the kind of person doing 1-4 composition with full 19k. So you are not going to run with the kind of people that actually want the queue. I probably won't either, because I'll try to stick with guildies as it's easier to manage the lag frustration with friends, but I'm not opposed to the queue.
So what would a queue actually do? It would allow more people to try to get into the dungeon. Part of these pug groups will be able to run 1, 2 chapters, and that's it. A random group will probably not get to chapter 5, because 2-3 composition is harder, and specifically it's exceptionnal to get 5 people willing to play 2 hours in a random group for the event. You know, doing 1-2 chapters allow you to get trinkets. These people probably won't get the coins, but you can still buy coffers with the trinkets, to get rubies/comp. upgrade/woden enchant/Vanity Pet.
Elitists like that are a huge reason why there should be a public queue. When I use the word "callous" in my postings, that is the sort of attitude I am describing. Several of my alts are 17k and I would have no problem taking them to a public queue. Part of the joy of having powerful alts is when you can use them to help lesser-geared players. There's a saying: "the truest test of the strong is to help the weak". That's not to say that I don't also run with our alliance, but most of the time that's not possible.

I was (and still am) afraid this would be the case and if so, I think I'm gonna need a break from NW. Even if I were to grind for it suspect that they'll either nerf or replace it with something at a future date and the cycle will begin anew. The BIS chasing marathon just to run new content is a real burn out. Cheers and good hunting to those who enjoy it.

I'm getting sick of these BS gamble boxes. 15 and nothing so far. Do they expect anyone to complete the fashion set with such stupidly low chances? AND WHY ARE THE CHANCES SO LOW ANYWAY WHEN IT'S ALL CHAR BOUND!?
Not to mention that people want to rush through and ignore the chests anyway so anyone who wants trinkets get screwed.
Should have been available to queue like a normal skirmish/dungeon for people who dont have half an hour to sit spamming in protectors enclave to find a team. At some points over the weekend it was ridiculous... the number of high IL Trickster Rogues trying to find a team was disheartening.
