Forum Issue: Signature Image Error (08/04/17)
We are aware of an issue present with Signatures not allowing Image Changes or the Addition of an Image in Signatures that is affecting most users, if not all. We have contacted Vanilla to get this resolved but do not have an ETA on a resolve at this time. So, for the time being, please be aware that if you remove your image from your signature, you may be unable to put a new one in its place.

If your image is found to exceed our restriction on signatures however, you will still be required to remove the signature until you are able to replace it with one that is within our restriction. In such a case, we will notify you personally when this issue is resolved and you may then put an acceptable image back in your signature.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we work with Vanilla to resolve this.

    Hello @zebular and ty for having posted this warning, at least now I know that I wasn't just doing things incorrectly. I'm normally way over on the Champions Online forums (where we didn't get a warning) and I just discovered this issue while trying to update my signature with a new image.... to no avail. I've also lost my old image in the process :(

    I was wondering if there is any new information regarding a fix for this.

    While this is certainly disappointing news, it's at least good to get some news and not be left in the dark about this.

    As it's been just over a month since I last asked about this, and almost two months since @zebular first informed us of the problem, I thought it worth asking again...

    Is there any news/ETA on when we might be able to post new signature images again?

    Alas, no ETA yet. We've bugged Vanilla about it but still no fix. *sighs* Julia tried a bunch of things to see if she could get it working on her own but was not successful. Rest assured, as soon as it is fixed, we'll update this thread and you'll see me with an image in my signature again.

    It seems dozens of other forums have worked out this issue with Vanilla. What's the hold up?

    While I can understand that sometimes communication between companies can be tricky, I do think that 6 months is a long time to get something like this fixed.

    From the forum goers perspective it does seem an inordinate amount of time to fix an issue like this. I realize there are priorities and this, being primarily cosmetic in nature, is likely towards the bottom but as stated above 6 months is a bit surprising?

    If the company that supports these forums is taking this long to deal with you all, the customerbase, perhaps you should look at other companies to support your hosting needs?

    At this point, a Cryptic employee, the Community Manager, or higher would seem to make the most sense.

    This makes cryptic look asleep at the wheel on this issue.
