[PC] Streaming Beta Overlay

I logged in last night to level my HR. While dodging the reds i hit shift + S to dodge backwards and I get a new streaming beta overlay pop up and totally screws me. Once this happens and I click back into the game, my character is uncontrollable. It runs in all different ways and uses up all of my stamina. I haven't figured out what stops it as I end up clicking everything possible to get it to stop. I logged into my paladin and got the same thing. Sanctuary + S to backup and the overlay comes up. It there anyway that I can change this function?

    I was trying to dodge using Shift+S keys this morning and the Arc Games screen popped up over my screen with a window that says "Arc Streaming beta - settings". I've tried this several times and ever time I hit Shift+S this screen pops up.

    Is there anyway to stop this from happening, or is it no longer possible to dodge backwards with Shift+S if you are playing Neverwinter through Arc Games?

    When you are in battle and use the default keys Shift to dodge +S to move backwards the Arc platform pops up the streaming window... that's very troublesome considering you play any classes and especially guardian fighter who live using those keys.

    Can you create at least a way to alter that shortcut to the streaming window? Up until this post there is none.

    It wasn't a very good design choice on their part to pick a key combo already in use in the game, but at least you can change it:

    In the settings dialog that pops up, there's a box labeled:
    3. Set Activate key

    Select the box and enter any key combo you want.

    So yea, good job guys. Better make yet another streamer program, force activate it for all. With 1 minor detail from any other program out there. U cant change the shortcut key...

    This is just stupid on a way different level. Now i cant dodge/dash/walk/run/raise shield or w/e i want on my shift key while going backwards. Can u please like very fast, like almost instantly disable this program. Since im sure it will take u forever to program in the feature to change the shortcut key...

    For now im going back to the steam version. This is just unplayable...

    Actually I made Ticket about this new feature since the Streaming.exe is always active and is using up processor resources for no reason.

    You can run the game without running Arc if you just run the launcher directly. I never actually have Arc running when I play Neverwinter... much faster to just run the client itself instead of taking up resources with Arc!

    Just launched the game via the launcher... launcher is loaded, no Arc running anywhere.

    Launch "Neverwinter.exe" wherever you installed Neverwinter itself... running the launcher directly should never run the Arc client, so be sure you're not actually running a shortcut to Arc with the Neverwinter icon! :)

    The community team agrees. It's been forwarded off to the developers to consider other options.

    Normally I can't promise things will change but I think it is safe to assume they will change the default keybind to something which is not going to interfere with gameplay. :)

    Shift + S gave me a nasty surprise last night but it can be fixed easily. Just look at the overlay and change the streaming activation key combination (like @kreatyve explained above) and your back dodge/block/sprint is free again.

    But ya shame on Cryptic for pushing such blatant oversights on Live.

    I only launch arc for free arcpoints, then I close it and run the NW-launcher, I linked to my desktop . Problem solved and not your problem any more if they implement BS.

    Okay, some of this may belong in the ARC forum, but as it's specific to this game - and the arc forum is dead - I'm trying here in hope of help.

    I play a CW and ever since the last update of the Arc launcher some of my key binds are effed up. Most serious is Shift+S, which is backwards dodge. This brings up the Arc Social Overlay (which it shouldn't as that is bound to Shift+Tab). I am not the only one with that problem, just had a chat with a DC in the game who has the same issue.
    Also my daily powers doesn't always work in battle. I can hit 1 or 2 repeatedly without any power working in battle. Out of battle, no problem and it's not a key board issue either. Checked.

    Any suggestions would be helpful. And yes, I'll go make a report in the Arc forum too. If I can find it.

    Nevermind, found out what was wrong. Wasn't a bug, it was a feature. Dumbest feature ever, only exceeded but the sheer stupidity of the chosen key bind.

    I have explained in this thread how to change the key bind to something you should never ever have to press while playing.

    Merged the threads just now, was getting messy with several different threads.

    I ran a dungeon yesterday for the first time in a few weeks, after my winterfest stuff was done.. franly it was the hardest content I ever have done!

    Because I was walking backwards and none of my dailies worked.. it was just a matter of thinking in reverse .. we still got boss done!

    I think even then I would get used to it over time..

    @kreatyve it was that thread I was linking to and thanks for the help btw. But it doesn't alter my opinion on the matter in any way.

    Also incidentally, this messes with the dailies too, even though the 1 and 2 keys has nothing to do with anything they still get affected, somehow. Know this isn't anything to do with you and I'll make a report in the proper place later, just giving you a heads up.

    You could simply start the client without using the arc bloatware?

    Not an option as every time I try to start the game from the exe file it just freezes and crashes. Don't even start me on Steam. I try to be polite, but I hate that platform more than I do Arc.

    RE-Binding isn't a total fix. Still can't type more than 2/3 words in chat without sentence disappearing.

    Also.. while in chat trying to use Shift+S to capitalize the S (say i wanted to say SH, or MSA) clears the chat and opens this dumb FLUFFY twitch hamster.

    At a time they want us to send them money, they show that they clearly don't know what to do it. ONE Dev could've said, "Shift+S is used by everyone for basic game mechanics, probably not a good key combo, let's use XXXX+X instead".

    Is anyone having issues with shift+S popping the streaming beta overlay? When this happens, I click back over to the game to find my character running around uncontrollably. I haven't figured out what stops it yet as I end up clicking everything possible to get it to stop. It also drains my stamina when it happens. Is there a way to change the key bind to something else?
