[PC] Streaming Beta Overlay

It's silly that they made a keybind attached to this streaming twitch - I don't know what got in their heads to make it a commonly used keybind. You can't even type capital-S without it coming up!

To get rid of it - when the main screen pops up, just change the 'keybind' option to something that you will not use e.g. I used 'shift+scroll-lock' as I will never use that combination. It should free up shift-S again for you. So once again, you'd be able to type 'Sh** that was some awful programming'.

To reiterate though this is absolutely being forwarded through the channels to be changed. Please have some patience in the mean time.

Look its not a issue that it can be fixed, this is a issue of propriety command structure in terms of actual game content.

In no way shape or form, shoud ARC ever interfere with normal game shortcuts.. ever.

This is very frustating to players, but thats not even the point.. the point is this..

1. Does arc have a list of in game command key features?
2. If they do, did they ignore it?
3. Why is this nothing short of ARC.. fix it now? For relase in this weeks patch.
4. Things like this, which Ive seen other companies fix in hot patches, taking weeks to resolve, seem to be a ongoing trend line for this company. How effing hard is it to switch to a command key of say Shift+P or something not used by players.


Im not in charge of the company, but if I was, I would be asking arc some serious questions right now, if they never got a list of in game command key features, I would get them one and then figure out why it wasnt sent in the first place.

How can that be explained any more simply then that?

I changed my command key to Shift+Insert, but it doesn't stop Shift+S from bringing up the overlay. It shows my chosen command, but then I hit Shift+S to run backward with my GWF and suddenly I'm looking at the Streaming Beta Overlay and it says "select command to start streaming" or whatever it says in the field. To make matters worse, my character starts auto-running back, and after I exit the overlay, I can't stop it until I've bashed every button on my keyboard repeatedly.

You know what would solve my problem? An option to completely disable the streaming feature. I'm not gonna use it. I don't need it. And I certainly don't want the overlay to popup in the middle of a dungeon.

Would starting the game without using ARC easier to workaround this issue?
I don't use ARC and I don't have this problem. Obviously, I cannot use this feature neither.

TBH, would not like my kids to start streaming on the click of a button without me knowing.
But then again, I am sure it's somewhere covered in the EULA.

I tried deleting the exe and the ARC program had a conniption fit and crashed/repaired. Just like nvidia's HAMSTER insistence on forcing a login to use the Experience program, at least they don't require it to update GPU drivers...

Please fix this so I can disable this bothersome exe.

Arghh. People in the game told me how to change the "S" fiasco. I made it F12.
Worked fine.

Tonight my friend was asking how to fix it, so I hit F12 to look.... Now if I hit
Shift (at all) it goes to the 'camera' view (no onscreen text).... So I can't chat
and wasn't able to explain what to do, and couldn't/can't talk at all!

Update:
My direct Neverwinter launcher is at C:\Program Files (x86)\Perfect World Entertainment\Neverwinter_en
in case that helps anyone. Also: was able to completely close down ARC and set the trigger
key to CTRL-F12. They better not reset it!

Then click where it says Set Activation Key. Then press 2 keys together that you will never ever accidentally press together.




Hit OK, and you are all set. Having them set it to Shift+S was a very, very bad move.

Mine was set to Shift+F4 by default, but still got the streaming window by just pressing shift. This has happened twice to me now. I reported it and I also changed it to Ctrl+NumPad7 to hopefully make this thing stop, but damn it's annoying. Only thing that helped me to resolve the issue was to log out of the game and restart it both times it happened. So annoying.....
