Maybe SE should have like a 35 % chance of proccing peircing damage? But to compensate give it a bit more damage. Or hrs piercing damage shouldnt crit . or just tone down might blades because while PG does massave damage i get half my health shredded with a quick at will

MY opinion is PB is not as bad as its made to be but it is the flavor of the month and is used more by TRs as well as HR. HR was considered a dead class in PVP no mater what any says there were very few left playing PVP. With PB being some what over powered it has brought life back to all the HR that had left PVP. Yes the few trappers that were left most respected to combat but TBT you could count the HRs in PVP on both hands and feet and still have toes left over. So the change actually brought a lot of players back to PVP that had left.
Now the Question is how do well tone it down some. I would 1st try to reduce area of affect of Smoke bomb and PG giving players a chance to move from area but still contest the node. Also maybe add a Piercing resistance that players could stack like combat resist, AOE resist and Control resist. This could reduce the damage taken by players in PVP and totally have no effect in PVE. I understand its just one more thing to get but if you want to be competitive in PVP then give up some of your other things that give you a big edge for it. You should not be able to have best of all worlds this is a game of balancing your toon for max performance. You want to Mass kill then you are easy to kill, Sort of the cant have cake and eat it too Idea.
I am actually excited about this. When they do nerf SE I am very much looking forward to executioner getting a boost (hopeful). I love the path, SoD is a great mechanic if it works well (reminds me of the poison buff in the 3rd edition assassin prestige class). Right now FS/SB/SE/SoD combo is the only way to kill the unkillable (as an exec). Opening match kill then switch to ArP and IA/TC and take 15 min to kill a BiS tank (or die trying when their buddies come calling), or try to hold points. This gets old really fast.
HAMSTER sab/recovery builds, you just need to invest $ to max recovery (20K-ish), power then you are unkillable, and a SB/SE/CB spammer. Way worse than SE/FS imo (flame bait, bring it HAMSTER). >:)
BTW I put my tenser's on my CW...yeah that's right I said it...now go play your Sab/Recovery TR and eat a sammich while going 1000:1 K/D in your premade BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Why would piercing damage ignore tenacity? Whats the point in stacking tenacity if it's ignored by piercing damage.. it just makes no sense at all. Apply it to tenacity or give every class piercing damage.

I have HR for pve and TR for pvp... class doesnt deserve any nerf only because of pvp... Solution simple, apply tennancity to piercing damage, tht it ignores DR, but in no situation can ignore tennancity... will be a gamechanger in pvp, and wont hurt pve players....
No class should be able to one shot with or without the help of buffs in pvp. People here are not talking about nerfing any classes. This thread is about piercing damage and how it affects PVP.
Hr class is broken af at the moment. The piercing getting buffed by any buffs from gf/dc/cw/op. Apply piercing to tenacity and don't have it buffed by any other class will solve this problem.
The ranger is quite an animal right now isnt it, in regard to pvp of course. Capable of reaching deflect chance in the 80-90%, self-healing via deflects and insignias almost on par with a cleric. Damage via piercing blade destroying everything regardless of class/build, crit severity higher than a vorpal :P. I recall the time Pb was first made into a monster and I'm just a tiny bit surprised the developers repeated it.. If history repeats itself and it does, it will get adjusted again.

This is Cryptic and nothing is ever truly balanced. However yes, GFs and TRs are more capable of killing players at the highest levels due to their burst damage than an HR. They are tier 1.
I would say HR and GWF come in at tier 2 right after though. I say this because while these 2 classes appear to do a lot more consistent damage, it also takes time and so all the healing from the victim procs and balances out.

I don't mind that dynamic. People can't just blindly copy builds of the top players. Maybe what this thread should focus on is how to buff the damage of classes such as Warlock and Control Wizard. They could also change the Paladin from defensive buffs to all offensive buffs.

It doesn't matter how much hp you stack, you get melted by hr's that are buffed by any class (mostly gf's) or dunked by a tr with or without buffs. I see recently more tr's going perma cc and i respect that because it requires more skill then having a dunk + run away build lol. Not necessarily give every single class/build a piercing damage focus or it would make the theorycrafting aspect of the game boring. I would however support the idea of giving everyone damage buffs to put them in line with GF and TR
Piercing damage has always been part of the game and always will be.
YeS and it should be something special. Limited to 1 or 2 attacks at most. SE with piercing is fine for me. There are tells, sometimes you can escape it sometimes not. But being bled dry via constant application of piercing damage a la piercing blade is broken I think. But then again I know how the devs operate with class "balance". They simply rotate the fotm. Used to be a time when GWF's deep gash was as deadly if not deadlier than current pb.
