Feedback: On further reflection the first problem I have is that you are sending the general of the army to catch the food. Level 70 characters are the pinnacle of the game, by the time they get to this part of the game they have probably driven Demogorgon back to the Abyss a few times at least, and now they are going fishing? Really?
This is my same issue with the Lonelywood Fishing quest. It just shows how out of touch with Dungeons and Dragons these content creators can be. I can only imagine that they just looked at stats on what was an optional activity during the Winter Festival, saw it rated well (ignoring that it was the most expedient way to get rewards for that event) and decided to create content based on it.
If you can't stand on a chest, it is a mimic!

Don't confuse the Lonelywood fishing with the mini-game fishing. They're honestly very different in context. Lonelywood fishing suffers from a generic quest structure of kill 10 rats or collect 20 macguffins, with an enormous amount of randomness and bugginess contributing to making it frustrating and hateful. It's on the coattails of that particular memory that they are adding a fishing activity that shares almost nothing with the quest version. Bad timing, but they do have little in common.
Anyway, the way SKT's quests are framed, the immediate needs of Ten Towns citizens are being made a priority. People are freezing, starving, and suffering, and your adventurer is only of the only able-bodied beings around who can help.
As for taking a sport-fishing break, if you like it, everyone needs to unwind somehow, sometimes.
Adding fishing permanently has been requested again and again by players who like it (or who like how other games do it). Even if you don't enjoy it in the winter event, many actually do. It's not my favorite for doing for long periods because it's very static (which can be downright meditative for others), but I'm more interested in the new sport-fishing as an exploring and collecting activity.
Thanks all for your continued feedback. Just wanted to give you all a heads up that we're planning the following improvements for the live release, some of these may make it to preview as well:
The ability to purchase lugworms from the campaign store will be granted much earlier on.
You will now also be able to purchase lugworms for gold from the general store on the main island. (You will still be able to purchase lugworms for voninblood from the campaign store should you wish.)
This is a great change. However, you might as well do the smart thing and just remove the ability to buy lugworms with voninblood if you have your player's best interests at heart here like you seem to want to. Voninblood is way more valuable than gold is in this game, way more. So just ditch the voninblood purchase and leave only the gold option available
I agree. Two30 described the basic Everfrost resist potions that can be bought for either v-blod or silver as a "cruel trap for the unwary". It's not a viable alternative.
At least make the tooltips indicate items that can also be bought using gold and where.

Thanks for the feedback. When we discussed this change, in the end we decided to leave both options available so that players who have finished the campaign and are either not using or have moved on from relic armor can get some use out of extra voninblood. This is not meant to be a trap, so we'll continue to monitor feedback and look into updating the tooltip and pricing if necessary.

players who... have moved on from relic armor can get some use out of extra voninblood.
Sigh.
I don't know if the data suggests a substantial amount of players are actively chasing that stuff, or more are now that the vivification has been revealed which could ultimately let them off the hook for feeding their armor, but if constant cycles of armor replacement are the meta, that's basically a blessing to skip this one and wait until later.
I think if anyone ever reaches the point of having extra Voninblod, he or she will cry tears of joy about never having to dig up another relic. Then the player will sensibly save that Voninblod, knowing that you'll eventually introduce yet more Voninblod grind.

Sorry for the tangent.
We absolutely have plans to continue releasing new items—armor and weapons included. At some point, we'd like to have a somewhat predictable cadence. We understand that for some players the source of frustration is the unpredictability.
I can't say exactly when we will introduce a stronger set of equipment than relic armor, but I can say if you look at how long the dragonflight armor was essentially best in slot, we're not aiming for something too far off from that. I can certainly go as far as to say that there won't be a better set in Module 11.

Not better means also they introduce one that is on equal footing or has 100 stat points less for much much much much less pain. ( no empowerment *********************************, no rng chest in a chest and the 1 key per day ***********************) Remember when they introduced SH gear in mod 7, after they followed up with drowcraft gear in module 8 which is the exact described case.

I can tell you that at least so far as Module 11 is concerned we don't have any plans to introduce a "catch-up" set like drowcraft.

module 11 as in sea of moving ice ? or the real module 11 ?

The Sea of Moving Ice is not Module 10B, so in that sense I am referring to the real module 11, in other words, the next update after Sea of Moving Ice.

It just shows how out of touch with Dungeons and Dragons these content creators can be.
This is THE greatest mistake Cryptic has done with this game, not in touch AT ALL with DnD, not in touch with players, simple as that. It feels more and more like a flash facebook game, and that is not my opinion, that is a fact, its been 3 years living it now and the "progress" is so demeaning to the initial approach..such a shame..over and over again
Well i tested fishing, and was the most frustating thing ever i saw in a game. Lost 10 minutes of my life to don't cath any fish, and was boring as hell. As fishing will be mandatory on this mod and key changes will come, this both things will make me stop to play.

If its anything like the fishing daily in Lonelywood, its going to be horrible, worst in game experience I've ever had. Doesn't seem to be much feedback in this section for this mod. Doesn't bode well. Last mod there was heaps.

Oh man indeed the Lonelywood fishing is bad. Here is something I find helps a bit. Find two spots one by one. Clear the beach of crabs. Fish at one of the spots, if you get a fish go and fish at the next one, rotating between the two. This way has helped me get fish faster. Once you get a boot find two other spots.
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream.
Is it WAI that you can fish anywhere in the Sea of Moving Ice waters? I think this is a good thing IF you can only catch up to like level 2 fish in random spots. Leave the GOOD fish in the sparkly circles for pro Fishers that like that.
the other areas can be for people just trying to do enough fishing to make the tribes happy.

Has anyone figured out how to get stuff for gear from the fish? I got a purple fish and no option to gut it. I also heard a rumor about getting higher boats from Fishing or Treasure hunting.. is that accurate?

This is indeed working as intended for exactly the reasons you describe!

There are 4 specific fish that can be gutted for special resources.

1: Woot!!
2: Darn.. now i "Gotta catch em all" to find out which. Should there be a tooltip or something in the description of the collections page?

Some feedback. There are many things I like about sea of moving ice. Visuals, mobs, fights etc.
One things I don't like. It is way to hard to go from boat to ice. Should be able to jump on land easy, even onto a meter high wall. Sometimes you get stuck just from a tiny one inch wall. Makes the transition tricky. Should also be able to jump right onto a mount when in a hurry. It is horrible to get stuck in a fight just because you fumbling when landing and not getting the mount out fast after landing.
I am also one person that might be doing some fishing when chilling, but not. Fishing is not relaxing. It takes too much attention. You can't throw out the line and relax. You have to bait, throw the line, reel after the fish, pull it in. It requires constant focus. Might as well be fighting monsters for relaxing. Should be able to throw the line, afk, get fish and throw again. That is why I have enjoyed fishing in other parts of the multiverse. Here, it is not compatible with real life. And if I really wanted to be playing a fishing game... Neverwinter would probably not be very high on the list. There are other things that brought me here.
Fishing is good for going after those legendary fishes in some HE. But we should also be able to do some relaxing fishing all over the sea, just getting common-epic fishes. Maybe if you get an epic, the reeling thing should pop up, but not for common-rare. Common-rare should be auto catch.

With dreams to be a king, first one should be a man.
Client crashes if i sell multiple fishs of the same kind. If the menu pops up how many fish of a specific sort i want to sell (the one with the slider) and press OK. The game client immediatly crashes. Tested it. Works everytime.

Anyway, the way SKT's quests are framed, the immediate needs of Ten Towns citizens are being made a priority. People are freezing, starving, and suffering, and your adventurer is only of the only able-bodied beings around who can help.

Playing a game is unwinding from real life stress. Playing a game inside the game to unwind from the game sounds stupid to me

The Fishmonger says she isn't skilled enough, so lets send on of the most powerful, but probably least skilled people out to do this instead? Because that makes sense in a story context.

Well now they have a great, buggy, long winded, excruciatingly painful pile of junk to unwind with. Nothing brought that home to me like trying to catch fish with 500-1000 ping yesterday where the blue circle on the map is entirely the wrong place to fish, with the requirement that I catch 200 "weight" of fish. There was a lot of hamsters on the wheel of my mind. In the end the only way to go was to abandon the quest.
A fun optional extra, great its good. A necessary component of the game, it remains atrocious.
Obsidian Moonlight - Paladin Obsidian Oath - Warlock A whole lot of other Obsidian toons as well.
