All I have to say about GF changes in pve is..."lol" A dps GF (like freya) already hits like a CW currently does, buffing them pushes them to the 2nd best striker class post changes, right behind SW. It isn't necessary at all. You want to compare 1 support class to another? Then why is GF going to do so much more damage than a CW?
DPS like freya use bonding(bug) stones to boost her power 40k crit 15k defense 20k + he use lol set(bug) and he also benifit from the curen 20% bonus dmg bug.
Take those away and he will loose around 170% dmg boost .
All in one first fix the issues then talk b.s.
You cannot balance a class w/o knowing item issues .

Exactly the buffer have done 200k dmg w/o any DPS spec the buffs and debuffs are to powerfull .
The point is 2 bar of debuffs and buffs this vid dont count . Show us her solo single target dps w/o buffs only self buff w/o lol set and bugged items and ofc take away the SH boons cuz not any GF have 8k power 8 def boon in the server also wait for the patch (or go to prev) after things got fixed the dmg will be more in line .

Because someday people will run in parties without any buffs and what you're saying will matter. That big hit at the end was probably a 5+ million damage anvil. I've seen a guildmate do a 9+ million damage anvil, in T2s it's like the GF suddenly switched classes and decided it wanted to be a SW.

Look freya is in Gutbusters Brigade with lvl 20 SH(GZ btw) 8000(+20%) power 8000(itf+20%dmg) this alone is on top of the point he have full legendary and mythic stuff on top LOL set+ T.vorpal and god knows what pets she/he have .

To make difference in pvp they can do it also and not touch pve part . But we all know PVP have his own issues and its heavy item/stuff related. But to manage agro with GF is heavy related to dmg cuz he is not paladin and dont have hard taunt skills at-wills.

Oh please. Tanking CN just means you use SM/tac and run with a DC. If you can't tank as SM/tac it really does mean that you're bad.

I didn't ask for any nerfs ...
AP gain on GFs comes from feats and has nothing to do with the DC. The DC is just there heal you if you screw up and make your ITF more effective. You don't need a legendary companion. I use a green faithful initiate that you can get from Raptr just for registering your account.

I am pretty sure there's at least one member in @sharpedge's party that wears the legacy set, probably more. That's another huge factor in how they destroy current content. Throw in the ridiculous SH boons, insane damage buffs provided by GFs and Bonding runestones, which all leads to Orcus dying in record low time. Just to add that I am taking nothing away from these players, who are all very good at what they do.

I have yet to test these changes but I am looking forward to them all. I think there has been some very serious consideration given as to how to improve GFs and their balance with other classes and I know these changes are a good step in the right direction. However, I believe a lot more will need to be done to achieve a greater balance between classes and, I hope that these changes are considered carefully with respect to changes occurring with other classes.
I read the suggestions that cast times/animations of Iron Warrior should be increased and I completely agree. As it is, the power is almost useless except in a very few rare situations.
I believe that there are three big changes that need to happen to the GF:
a substantial increase to their base Hit Points and HP gained/increased from feats, boons, equipment and enchantments. My reasoning for this is simple - My GF at 2.8k has around 145k Hit Points, which is inclusive of HP increasing feats, a few enchants and boons (non-SH). This is compared to my 2.1k TR who has about 95k HP without taking any specific HP increasing feats, boons or enchants. However, my TR will deal approximately 400% more damage (as a minimum) than my GF, despite the difference in gear and boons. In short, what this means is simply that GFs require an increase in HP that is DIRECTLY proportional in comparison to the difference between the damage a similarly geared and experienced DPS class deals and that of a GF. At the absolute least, a tank should ALWAYS have substantially more HP than a DPS class. This does not mean that ALL GFs should receive a substantial increase, yet it should be an OPTION that each player can choose, based upon feat paths etc. at the expense of damage. This should also apply to the Paladin class too.
a moderate increase to their base DR/Defense and DR/Defense gained/increased from feats, boons, equipment, AC and enchantments. My reasoning for this is similar to my reasoning for increasing HP above - My GF currently sits at about 54% DR while my TR has about 24% DR however, my TR certainly deals considerably more damage in comparison to the damage that is mitigated by both. Again, similar to my proposal for HP above, I believe these increases to DR/Defense should be an OPTION that each player can choose at the expense of damage. This should also apply to the Paladin class.
I know many players will be unhappy with me stating this yet, in all fairness, it is a necessity - ITF NEEDS to be capped at 80-100%, with Tactician GFs able to increase that further through their feats. When one power provides a greater increase in damage to a party than the inclusion of another DPS class and their subsequent damage, then it's too overpowered. Capping ITF will go a very long way towards achieving a reasonable class balance in my opinion (subject to other class changes of course).
I'd just like to make a quick note regarding GFs in PVP...
There are many, many, many people that complain about GFs and their ability to deal 'damage' in PVP. With the changes to the Lostmauth set and ITF (in addition to a hopeful change to Feytouched too), there will be a vast difference in the damage that a GF can do in PVP which the new changes that increase some GF attack damage will not mitigate. In my opinion, any further changes to GF powers that negatively affect PVP will have a catastrophic affect on the viability of GFs in PVP. Certainly there is the facility and possibility for a properly built and geared GF to kill a player with one rotation in PVP. This is absolutely no different than any other class in my opinion. Expecting GFs to be any different is, in my opinion, unreasonable and unfair. It is not easy for a GF to kill any player with one rotation consistently and, whenever they choose to - it is completely situational and requires a not-insignificant amount of preparation, timing, luck and a requirement to bear associated long cooldowns. If you would like to argue this point, i argue that patience should be exercised until changes to ITF and the Lostmauth set are implemented - then feel free to say "i told you so".
This is, by no means, an exhaustive list of everything that GFs need improved/changed, yet it is a good start. I'd like to see more people testing these changes rather than simply discussing/hypothesizing their impact.

Ya, GWF just had Temp HP nerfed because tankiness and DPS can't exist on one class. But GFs can have them both.

A supposed defensive class TANK-GF, which can go easily Full Swordmaster without caring/worry about Defense,. seriously what h** is that?!

PvP already is completely broken. Irregardless as to what nerfs happen it will remain broken and it will continue to be a game mode abandoned by 99% of the playerbase. You act as if people have never been through this stupid buff-nerf cycle in other games but no one in PvP will ever be happy with balance EVER. That's part of playing PvP, suck it up buttercup things will never go your way.
PvE on the other hand can have players dissatisfied that they aren't top DPS or w/e but it can strike a balance where rewards and time spent allow players to progess at a reasonable rate. You guys are just hellbent on giving PWE/cryptic ammo to throw that out of whack for no good reason.
Just for reference a 3k PvE group can take down emo in ~30 seconds without a GF or DC. Even with the elol set changes that might double at worst. Nothing about the changes you're proposing will have an actual effect on the difficulty of PvE. If they really want to do that they'd need to nerf everything so that gearing up has a lesser return on investment. By the time you people are happy we'll be slogging through edemo 20 minutes at a time for one lousy +1 ring.

PvP balancing should not even be bothered to discuss. its broken and there must be many item fixes before even looking at classes.
As for the shorter animations for at-wills, thats fine but not needed. Cleave boost was welcome but still far far behind weapon master strike (around 40% weaker and with less radius).
But the main problems we have is our HP pool and iron warrior having a really slow activation time.
Aggravating strike pushing us forwards when we want to stand still and locking us in animation.
As someone said before, ITF should get a cap (80-100%) OR just not worth with astral shield/hallowed etc. Otherwise there will be no place for OPs.
There needs to be room for both OP and GF after these balances go live. Sure, we have been an underdogs but we are better than those whiners who need to totally outclass others to feel competent.
I want people to pick me because I'm a good player, not because my class is overpowered compared to another. Let the OPs keep playing their OPs.

99% might be a bit hyperbolic but the number of people that actually bother playing PvP regularly makes up a small minority of the playerbase.
Also, if you want to compare PvP to PvE based on that sort of measure, PvP has three maps, and three game modes. They've added one map and one game mode since launch. That game mode (siege) is so terrible that the only way they could get anyone to play it is by gating BiS PvP armor behind it, and the map it's on is a laggy mess. If PvP was a standalone game no one would be playing it. PvP only exists because PvE props its sorry existence up.
Nerfing things one at a time due to player complaints as you would suggest always results in poor balance. You just want that one big bad class nerfed so you can play whatever class you're playing. Then you'll cry a river when you're on the other side of the nerf bat.

Common mistake. Without PvP game will die soon, as all "new" PvE content getting bored after 10 days of gameplay. So, NWO doesn't have both PvE and PvP content for now. Game for geeks-only isn't a good idea.

No it's not. In virtually every MMO PvP players make a small minority of the playerbase. PvP players like to think that there are no PvE whales propping the game up but that's never true.

And honestly if you're so bored of an MMO that you play a garbage excuse for PvP why don't you just go play an actual PvP game? About the only reason I can see staying interested in Neverwinter PvP is if you're bad at actually competitive games.
All I have to say is....it took for mod 6 for the community to convince the devs to nerf the CW class and CWs are probably the most active community...how long do you think gfs will be able to protect themselves? The nerf hammer will come, be it sooner or later....

He never asked for a nerf. He just said there was no reason for a buff. GFs are in a really good spot so I don't really see why they needed it either. Heck, I already got accused of asking for a nerf, and I have a 3k GF that I have no interest in getting nerfed.

My friends hit 310k Sure Strikes in elol with out none of the party wearing any legacy set.
Sharp's parties are always well picked and work in synergy with each other.
This vid demonstrates what a current geared good party can do,and nothing more.it cannot be taken ad-hoc ,by CWs (what they want in a Gf thread talking about att wills faster animations-nvm) to advocate a nerf..on the pve Gf.
PVE GFs is not your "enemy" in paingiver you know it we know it.it is SWs and GWFs.

But to manage agro with GF is heavy related to dmg cuz he is not paladin and dont have hard taunt skills at-wills.
Oh please. Tanking CN just means you use SM/tac and run with a DC. If you can't tank as SM/tac it really does mean that you're bad.
Then why do y ask for nerf's to GF SM/tac they cannot do dmg also TANKING and managing agro is two separate things.
OFC there is a broken legendary pet hou can tank CN and buff us with 40 power etc etc and cannot die.

AP gain on GFs comes from feats and has nothing to do with the DC. The DC is just there heal you if you screw up and make your ITF more effective. You don't need a legendary companion. I use a green faithful initiate that you can get from Raptr just for registering your account.

I read the suggestions that cast times/animations of Iron Warrior should be increased and I completely agree. As it is, the power is almost useless except in a very few rare situations.
I believe that there are three big changes that need to happen to the GF:
- a substantial increase to their base Hit Points and HP gained/increased from feats, boons, equipment and enchantments. My reasoning for this is simple - My GF at 2.8k has around 145k Hit Points, which is inclusive of HP increasing feats, a few enchants and boons (non-SH). This is compared to my 2.1k TR who has about 95k HP without taking any specific HP increasing feats, boons or enchants. However, my TR will deal approximately 400% more damage (as a minimum) than my GF, despite the difference in gear and boons. In short, what this means is simply that GFs require an increase in HP that is DIRECTLY proportional in comparison to the difference between the damage a similarly geared and experienced DPS class deals and that of a GF. At the absolute least, a tank should ALWAYS have substantially more HP than a DPS class. This does not mean that ALL GFs should receive a substantial increase, yet it should be an OPTION that each player can choose, based upon feat paths etc. at the expense of damage. This should also apply to the Paladin class too.
- a moderate increase to their base DR/Defense and DR/Defense gained/increased from feats, boons, equipment, AC and enchantments. My reasoning for this is similar to my reasoning for increasing HP above - My GF currently sits at about 54% DR while my TR has about 24% DR however, my TR certainly deals considerably more damage in comparison to the damage that is mitigated by both. Again, similar to my proposal for HP above, I believe these increases to DR/Defense should be an OPTION that each player can choose at the expense of damage. This should also apply to the Paladin class.
- I know many players will be unhappy with me stating this yet, in all fairness, it is a necessity - ITF NEEDS to be capped at 80-100%, with Tactician GFs able to increase that further through their feats. When one power provides a greater increase in damage to a party than the inclusion of another DPS class and their subsequent damage, then it's too overpowered. Capping ITF will go a very long way towards achieving a reasonable class balance in my opinion (subject to other class changes of course).
I'd just like to make a quick note regarding GFs in PVP...There are many, many, many people that complain about GFs and their ability to deal 'damage' in PVP. With the changes to the Lostmauth set and ITF (in addition to a hopeful change to Feytouched too), there will be a vast difference in the damage that a GF can do in PVP which the new changes that increase some GF attack damage will not mitigate. In my opinion, any further changes to GF powers that negatively affect PVP will have a catastrophic affect on the viability of GFs in PVP. Certainly there is the facility and possibility for a properly built and geared GF to kill a player with one rotation in PVP. This is absolutely no different than any other class in my opinion. Expecting GFs to be any different is, in my opinion, unreasonable and unfair. It is not easy for a GF to kill any player with one rotation consistently and, whenever they choose to - it is completely situational and requires a not-insignificant amount of preparation, timing, luck and a requirement to bear associated long cooldowns. If you would like to argue this point, i argue that patience should be exercised until changes to ITF and the Lostmauth set are implemented - then feel free to say "i told you so".
This is, by no means, an exhaustive list of everything that GFs need improved/changed, yet it is a good start. I'd like to see more people testing these changes rather than simply discussing/hypothesizing their impact.

A supposed defensive class TANK-GF, which can go easily Full Swordmaster without caring/worry about Defense,. seriously what h** is that?!
A supposed offensive class DPS-GWF can NOT survive as swordmaster on pvp,there's absolutely no way to play the offensive part of GWF, GWF's-Swordmaster is just paper on pvp and easy food for everyone.

Yes, of course. Buffed GF (DC damage buff + Into The Fray in Astral Shield) deals up to 500k dmg with anvil of doom to CW in PvP armor. You can try to repeat test in Icewind Dale to make sure that it's true. Do you offer to break PvP completely? GFs are already out of balance in PvP, and such changes makes this situation even worse.
PvE and PvP aspect should be reworked AT SAME TIME, or you will ruin game mechanics completely.
P.S. Also, in PvE "Into The fray" overboosted too. Party with GF and DC can shot Lostmauth or even Demogorgon in 5-10 seconds. Lostmauth's Set nerf won't help here. So, nerf needed both in PvE and PvP.

PvE on the other hand can have players dissatisfied that they aren't top DPS or w/e but it can strike a balance where rewards and time spent allow players to progess at a reasonable rate. You guys are just hellbent on giving PWE/cryptic ammo to throw that out of whack for no good reason.
Just for reference a 3k PvE group can take down emo in ~30 seconds without a GF or DC. Even with the elol set changes that might double at worst. Nothing about the changes you're proposing will have an actual effect on the difficulty of PvE. If they really want to do that they'd need to nerf everything so that gearing up has a lesser return on investment. By the time you people are happy we'll be slogging through edemo 20 minutes at a time for one lousy +1 ring.

As for the shorter animations for at-wills, thats fine but not needed. Cleave boost was welcome but still far far behind weapon master strike (around 40% weaker and with less radius).
But the main problems we have is our HP pool and iron warrior having a really slow activation time.
Aggravating strike pushing us forwards when we want to stand still and locking us in animation.
As someone said before, ITF should get a cap (80-100%) OR just not worth with astral shield/hallowed etc. Otherwise there will be no place for OPs.
There needs to be room for both OP and GF after these balances go live. Sure, we have been an underdogs but we are better than those whiners who need to totally outclass others to feel competent.
I want people to pick me because I'm a good player, not because my class is overpowered compared to another. Let the OPs keep playing their OPs.

Also, if you want to compare PvP to PvE based on that sort of measure, PvP has three maps, and three game modes. They've added one map and one game mode since launch. That game mode (siege) is so terrible that the only way they could get anyone to play it is by gating BiS PvP armor behind it, and the map it's on is a laggy mess. If PvP was a standalone game no one would be playing it. PvP only exists because PvE props its sorry existence up. Nerfing things one at a time due to player complaints as you would suggest always results in poor balance. You just want that one big bad class nerfed so you can play whatever class you're playing. Then you'll cry a river when you're on the other side of the nerf bat.
