I agree that this seems like a waste of time. The design tries to look like tabletop, but imo it's just an excuse to not bother with real graphics. The instances are level 60. Nobody needs to avoid the traps or lure a boss into anything with a group of level 70 characters. It's boring. One run gives one die, I need 6 for one campaign progress, and 20 times to finish the campaign. You expect me to run these boring level 60 instances 120 times? And the reward is an item that does 4.8k damage once every 10 minutes? I'm seriously . And yeah, the area with the trials is very bugged. I can't finish the "duel" challenge at all, the battle challenge bugged out 2 times for me and wouldn't count. (Was stuck in calculating and I had to abandon it) Also that daily to collect 10 tokens in an area where there are 10 other people doing the same on a time limit; That's just horrible design. Makes me hate seeing other players. In an MMO. A lot of other campaign areas have the same problem, but the time limit here makes it worse. And please tell us where and what exactly to grind to get that legendary mount, so we can get it over with. This vagueness is neither funny nor fun.
What's really well done are the maze engine quests, just too bad we have to wait 2 weeks between each of them. I'd love to play those...
Just because some of us have a different opinion on what is fun to you, doesn't mean we hate fun and it isn't fair to judge what we enjoy based on your own standards, so please do not say, "some people hate fun" purely because they don't enjoy what you do.
I run the event yesterday evening, played it for a hour and I came to the conclusion that it's a waste of time, at least for me. Some guildies of mine had the same impression: we spent some time in there, but then we felt that running dungeons was more rewarding. There are 3 elements I've evaluated (ofc it's my personal evaluation): - Concept: that's ok, the idea is good as an extension of the Respen Game. - Rewards: as a PvE DC, I'm not interested. They are not attractive enough to deserve a boring grind. - Challenge: close to zero. Scaling the campaign to level 60, make it brainless easy. As said before the concept is funny, but the quests are done in hit&run mode, even for a non-dps cleric. I spend more time managing the inventory (filled with trash rewards) than running the quests.
To be pratical, I've tried to figure out who can take benefit of this campaign: low level alts and new players can run this campaign to get two new companions and a new artifact in a reasonable time by grinding some days. I don't consider the legendary reward attractive enough as the drop chance is too low and I already enjoy my stuff.
PS: The DC's chains of blazing light don't work on the dummies. This limits the dps power of the cleric when dummies must be attacked.

Just pulling this part out. Not sure about Portobello, but Respen's Game gives you 3 crystal dice every run. Look on the ground after fighting the mini-bosses.

I have to agree with the OP, this stuff is done right and I find it entertaining. I think most people just need to relax and enjoy the adventure. Chris and the guys at Cryptic did a good job with the spin of this event, and even before this Chris added his variation to this event it is was one of my favorites. The only thing I think that would make it more streamlined and better (IMHO), is the ability fast forward through some of the cut scene's because it will get old after hearing them for the 100th or so time. I have seen only 2 bugs so far the doors getting bugged in the dungeon of dread (once out of about 12 runs) and doing the race at the inn (I have not be able to do this). Anyway just my take on this event.
pointless event... but I do like how they organised the maze campaign. l like having something to work towards. i like the rpg aspect of the game and i think its good that we need to do the dailies to unlock the main quest chapters rather than letting us finish all of it in 1 go and then do dailies and die of boredom. the fun seems to last longer this way
but ye bk to the topic at hand. event pointless and rewards are lame... (not even gonna consider the mount since its probably as rare as finding pearl in a clam...)
the chance for an orange mount is nice but the chances of wasting 30 days ending up with stacks of useless junks is way higher. i dare to say 1000x higher.
Erm....a mount? How can i get the mount? No april fool jokes plz..i mean it serious: Is there a chance to get a legendary mount? And how? Thx for ur answers.

@thefabricant Some of these events are just for fun. Either you enjoy it or you don't. There's nothing wrong with that, and no one is forcing you to "grind" out anything.
But the larger point is, not everything is going to come with Legendary rewards. Not everything has to be a Skinner Box. Not everything has to have loot attached to it that's "worth your time".
Some of this stuff can be, literally, just for fun.
Respen's, and now with the Portobello's addition, is just a fun event. It's a wink and a nod to fans of tabletop D&D.
That's all.
Within that context, is it disappointing that some stuff isn't working right (like the race)? Sure, and I hope they fix it.
And like Respen's event was the first time, there's always room for feedback and improvement.
I may miss some point in these damage dummy quests. Is there a score board? I did not even see a score after I finish it like some events in summer/winter festival.
The good thing is that the system try to put guildies into the same instance. You know with guildies, more fun.

And this is the problem with MMO players these days.. gotta have THINGS. ALL THE THINGS. Can't do anything just for the timesuck fun of it.
Agree - if you like the event, run it. If not, do something else. I think some people would complain if AD were delivered to their mailbox along with some R12s and an Orange mount or three.
I like the events for the most part. My only complaint so far is that my soul puppet caused one of the missions to never complete (kept saying "Calculating" in the quest log).
Do the dailies, run few Respens, start your next campaign task and move on. It's not difficult nor is it meant to be.
Above all else, play until you stop having fun. After that, move on.

Then I have to come out of my mom's basement and walk ALL the way to the front door on my withered, useless, atrophied legs, reach out with my own hand, lift up that mailbox lid, get that heavy package...oh wait, it is the IN GAME mailbox??!!!
Now I am being flooded with R12s and useless AD that I cannot use to buy anything cause I now have everything!!! Stop flooding my mail box with useless doo-doo! I can't sell this stuff cause EVERYONE already has it! Need more!!! HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW!!! MOOOOMMMMMYYYY!!!!!
Was really enjoying the event, then I realised that the adventurers accreditation has a weekly cap !!!
Oh... is that expressed on the campaign interface? Because that really throws a wrench in plans of grinding it in fits and starts. And it's really not cool if there's no way at all to know about it until you hit it.
null I hit 102 then it started dropping a treasure item in it's place called unsolicited advice, which in the description stated that I could earn no more this week. I haven't seen it stated anywhere else as far as I can remember

Nothing has been done right since Mod 6... period.
We should not be being scaled down to 60 to slaughter level 60 enemies, nor should level 15 players be scaled to 60 only to get stomped and be carried by the 70s.
Return it to the way it used to be where the mobs scaled to the player.
I'm enjoying it thus far, it's a cool twist and I really enjoy the Table Top aspect. Of course that's because I have a few decades of Table Top DnD experience so that helps... I'm even finding myself rotating my camera to read the character sheets in front of people. There are a lot of cool things to see.
As for the repeat-ability of the event? That I don't know... We'll see how I enjoy it at the end of the month, but I do like the creativity and such thus far. The rewards are the bee's knees, but some seem cool, like the Floating Green Eye Want!
Either way, if ya don't like it no problem and if you do? Jolly good for you!

In reality, the restriction is that you can't pass the current adventuring rank until the next week of the event and the next queue is released. For instance, next week you'll be able to earn up to 200 accreditation. In the final week, you could earn all 400 accreditation if you'd like. That's a lot to earn in one week though, I wouldn't recommend it!
We did this so that those of you playing throughout the event took the time to enjoy running the new queues as they were released.
And to top it off would that not make the active bonus of Walter pointless?
Watler's bonus helps out if you're joining late or if you don't have as much time to play or just don't want to devote as much time to running the event queues.
