I have been stuck on the PoM quest from Bruenor for a few days - it seems pretty hard to get a group for that on the Preview server.

Bit annoying, as I thought this was supposed to be a solo-focused campaign.

    Hi Adinosii,

The Prophecy of Madness quest that Bruenor gives out is not part of the Maze Engine campaign, it is part of the Underdark campaign quest.

I'll see what we can do to make sure that's clearer to players.

Ah, OK, I was just a bit confused because I thought that in the second phase of dailies I was supposed to get two daily quests per day.

For the first phase I needed to do 5 quests - one per day. For the second phase I need 10 and for the third phase I will need 15. Just getting one per day means that the whole campaign will take 30 days, but I had somehow gotten the idea into my head that I would get two quests per day for the second phase (and just assumed the PoM quest was the second one) and three for the third phase, meaning that the whole campaign would just take 15 days.

    Sorry, my misunderstanding.

    Bug: Depth of madness
Linu laneral runs away when u dont kill incoming enemies quicly, leaving u vulnerable to madness.
Bug: Whenever traveling to new quests
SNR appears during some seconds, delaying the loading
    Bug: 1ST quest
During bridge scenes, ur companions get stuck when the bridge is closed? and cult of the flames get stuck in there too, preventing them from taking damage from u.
Also at the end of the quest the trail path shows a different location to leave the zone.

During the skyhold quest thing, some enemies are in level 15? even a fly can kill them.

    Feedback
I can't believe you guys keep re-using old zones to do daily quests, we're really tired of adventuring into the same zones.

I really love the lore and story and seeing linu and others coming back is awesome, but it is such a let down when u see u going back to old zones.

    Feedback
The Dailies that require you to travel at one of the old zones, a little over the middle of each map, are lousy and lazy at the same time. Especially at Icespire peak you need to travel over 3 minutes with a fast horse just to kill 2 demons, which, like in all other dailies, are killed with a single encounter, not even a rotation. These are demonicly pathetic dailies, you just picked a summon stone and threw it at a random place somewhere in a HUGE zone, which is also visited over a DOZEN times from the majority of the population through the years. Who makes these decisions guys? You FORCE people, for over 2 weeks or maybe more, into doing these so called dailies which take around 4 minutes running alone on a mount and maybe 30 seconds to 1 minute killing some random adds with nothing to show for in terms of campaign lore or progress. There is NO excitement AT ALL, you just give one more reason to everyone to hate this daily grind, hate the developers and eventually hate this game. How could someone just be so audaceous to just throw a lousy encounter at a random map and call it a daily? You start so well with the campaign by introducing a very good sequence with Linu, which is a copy paste from Witcher 2 but thats not the case here, and then you manage to lower the quality back to the abyss of nothingness. Then after the first 5 dailies you have another great sequence with the Cult Temple and the Ancient Dragon chase, a greatly designed dungeon/enviroment which MUST BE MADE into an epic dungeon btw, only for it to end into a PATHETIC fight with a lousy enemy which diminishes whatever you may have felt previously at the superb dragon chase.

You cannot possibly make AGAIN the dailies another mindless, less than a minute, grind. Try to create something beautiful and unique, with DnD lore all over. This dragon chase is only a few seconds long but it manages to capture the spirit of DnD superbly. You could use this sequence in more than 1 daily, for example you may manage to escape till one point then the next day you continue from where u were left. You could make the daily Demon encounters a specialized encounter that doesnt get closed in a silly circle so even a random passerby, unsuspected low level player could possibly join the fight and earn smthing usefull also, and make him connect with the game lore. Now you just send a player 50km into a zone to kill 2 silly demons in an enclosed enviroment and thats it....i cant believe how could this abomination was decided.

What u URGENTLY need Is called DnD authoring or adventure authoring. If you are just going to leave these pathetic dailies there then..you might as well make a Rank 1 profession task that takes 24 hours and call it a daily, its EXACTLY the same thing and accomplishes the same result, player's ignorance and boredom.

How these terrible dailies i have mentioned earlier are decided or designed is truly beyond any reason, they are degrading the game's experience and they are insulting our intelligence.

Thanks, Polaris! We have the female version of the battlerager armor coming in a future patch to Preview. It looks exactly like the male battlerager armor, we just had to tweak it to work on the female rig vs. the male rig.

    BUG: Mantol Derith Defense quest

After defeating the Arcane Overseer (in spellplague was a little bit tougher) you cannot leave the map, you click "F" but it does nothing. You cannot even leave from where you started; you're stucked in that instance. Only way to leave is using a scroll and teleport to enclave. Need fix .

There was no exit from the map where you take the grimoires to the mage either, or at least there was not one where the map says it is. And the aboleth does not seem to attack either, it just stands there and takes the damage.

    Bug: Achievement: Drizzt Do'Urden's Ally
According to the description of the "Drizzt Do'Urden's Ally" achievement, "Halfling-Free Diet" and "Immovable Mountain" are from chapter 7, and "Nemesis of the Kenku" and "Howling Expert" are from chapter 8. In fact, it's the reverse. "Halfling-Free Diet" and "Immovable Mountain" are from chapter 8, and "Nemesis of the Kenku" and "Howling Expert" are from chapter 7.

    Bug: Achievement: Never Amazed
The achievement "Never Amazed" becomes visible in the Achievement Journal at some point in Act 3. However, it's an Act 4 - Chapter 12 achievement, and should remain hidden until then.

Some general comments on chapters 6-10

Overall, not bad. Getting to chapter 6 was a bit boring - took 12 days - 10 daily tasks, with 2 days wasted because of the broken daily, and as I have complained about before, the daily in Icewind Pass is painful - lots of boring riding. add a few extra encounters, or move the second one closer to the first one, please.

Once I reached chapter 6 though, everything went smoothly. I realized there was a bit of extra stuff hidden here and there, and although I did not get all the achievements, I intend to do so on live...so good job there. I like it when players who enjoy exploration get a little bit extra to do.

The combat in chapters 6-10 went smoothly, and the difficuilty was probably appropriate - not challenging for a really well-geared character, but a "fresh" player with minimal equipment might have problems....which is as it should be. However, in the combat against Typhoon and Cyclone (who comes up with those names anyhow), poor little Driizt and Minsc did not fare so well...ended up lying on the ground - are they really supposed to be this weak? I'm not asking for them do do more damage, but really...they are heroes - they are supposed to be hard to kill, right ?

I noticed the issues that two30 mentioned above, but nothing else.

So, good job. I did not run into any showstoppers. The campaign feels pretty much ready to me...I hope the next chapters (in 2 weeks from now) will be equally problem-free. The mount and queue system needs a bit more work, though.

I am slightly concerned that if the campaign is intended to help bridge the gap between levels 60 and 70, it may take too long. With 30 daily tasks (5+10+15), many players will have reached 70 before they finish the campaign. Maybe that is intentional, though.

I have a question, regarding the 4th boon "Engine Inspiration", where it says "Healing Spells" - which powers are considered healing spells in this sense - is it just pure healing spells like Bastion of Health or any power which can heal, like Astral Seal and Divine Glow as well as items with healing powers and such?

    Hoping for improvements...

Thanks for the feedback, everyone! I'll look into the issues people were seeing with not being able to exit a map properly and with achievement descriptions being misleading.

Adinossi, I'll speak with the folks over in the systems team to get a clarification about the engine inspiration.

    Feedback: In Nature's Defense
O-M-G that was boring (2.5k CW). The amount of waves definitely has to be reduced, nine is simply too much. Using those repel quests to drag the campaign out to 30 days is already a very dull design, but bugging the player with way too many adds that are way too easy to kill just adds to the annoyance and doesn't make the quest any more appealing.

    Feedback: Chapter 6-10
The story remains to be interesting and has some funny elements in it, but lacks the amount of originality from earlier chapters. Those kill and fetch quests however do not annoy as much because you are eager to unfold the story. Highlight of the segment was the new Outpost map with its gimmicks and especially the view on Menzoberranzan from the bridge.

    Feedback: Campaign pace
This isn't something that can be changed for this campaign, but is intended as feedback for future campaigns. This campaign is really feast or famine. On days when you have a new Act, it feels like there's almost too much to do. Between Acts, there's too little.

True. I wouldn't mind stretching the story quests and getting rid of some of the interlude dailies.

    Feedback on "In Nature's Defense"

Now that this quest is working, I got to try it and in my opinion it is probably the worst daily quest the campaign. 9 waves of enemies is simply too much. I would recommend cutting it down to 7, and perhaps make the remaining waves a bit stronger instead.

Second issue is that compared to the waves, the boss is disappointingly weak - it took less time to kill the boss than one of the earlier waves of enemies. Is the boss really supposed to be this weak?

    Bug: Quest: Mantol-Derith Defense
Something very odd happened in the daily quest "Mantol-Derith Defense". As reported by earlier posters, the exit portals are bugged and useless. Instead of buying a teleport scroll from the Wondrous Bazaar, I decided to try logging out for 30 minutes, then logging back in. I expected that my quest instance would have been closed during that time, and I would find myself back in the overworld.

Instead, I returned to someone else's Mantol-Derith Defense instance. We were in the same quest instance but not in a party together. Very weird. We completed the instance, and this time I used a teleport scroll to exit.

Thanks, two30! I have a fix for this, it should reach you guys Soon. Long story short, the map of Mantol-Derith Defense thought it was a static map (which is what regular Mantol-Derith is), which is why no one could get out. It was trying to send you to the last static map you were on... but you were already on a static map.

Good, because right now I cannot even log in. I did the Mantol Derith Defense daily. My only comment on that is that the Aboleth Overseer was a bit boring - I had Minsc as a companion, and I didn't go below 100% HP the whole fight ... not a challenge at all. At least the demons managed to hurt me a little bit.

This is something I have seen a few times in the campaign - the "boss" fights feel easier than some of the regular mob fights.

Anyhow, after completing the fight, I discovered I was stuck in the instance - I had no teleport scroll, so I logged out...and when I logged in later, I just got the error you can see here:

Now both "Safe login" and "Normal login" hang....I cannot log in and cannot continue testing the campaign.

Edit: Scratch that....after an hour of failed attempts, I finally managed to log in - but I am just stuck in the instance. Duh!

    Continued:

Then, I finally had the idea of queueing up for something...anything, and the CN queue popped. We spent a bit of time fighting Tal-Gath the invisible:

I mean, really ... I like to be able to see what I am fighting, and yes...if would have been nice if any of my encounter powers had done any damage at all. Invisible, and semi-invincible enemies are not my idea of fun.

Anyhow...I got some "Teleport to Moonstone Mask" scrolls from one of the players (Thank you, Epsilon), and when we left and I got ported back to that buggy Manto-Derith Defense, I could use that scroll to actually get out. Phew!

    Feedback: Campaign Rewards and Quality-of-Life
Pulling info from the campaign interface and today's blog, this is more feedback for Sean to take back to his colleagues than anything else.

The Dwarven Battlerager seems to be BoE. I guess that's ok. To my thinking, a BoP companion makes the most sense from a roleplay perspective, but I know people are down on BoP rewards that aren't useful to them, and completely free companions are generally not designed to be all that great (which is fine).

Account-bound Battlerager fashion. Again, I suppose this is ok, as it can be transferred to an alt, but that in itself is poking one of the elephants in NW's room, of storage space for irreplaceable items. Collecting fashion is burdensome in the way that collecting mounts has been... or more burdensome because you can own multiple of the same item and dye it differently. Items that can't be reclaimed have to be stored, and so do any items than could be reclaimed but have been dyed. So you've got players who sacrifice their ability to store other items in order to enjoy fashions more, players who would use fashion more but stick with wearing a single outfit because they won't spare the space, and players who don't care or prefer to sport their skivvies anyway. But with the first two groups, you're making their game less fun by making things difficult for them, and were likely missing out on fashion sales because of the storage problem (lack of engagement/sales probably partly justified making fashion into tradebar items). Giving us more items puts more pressure on us to find room to store those items, and most of us are pretty disgruntled about our exploding bags already. Downright cynical, even. I am assuming this is not a reclaimable item.

"A familiar cloak" neck transmute. Again, assuming this is not reclaimable, we run into the storage problem AND the problem of transmuting artifact equipment with irreplaceable items. The game adds an upgrade for you? Have fun making the choice between keeping (most of) your RP or keeping your favorite look. The Cape of Catastrophe, Bahamut's Wings from the Dragonborn pack, and all the Tyranny of Dragons campaign cloaks, all a one-shot deal, all items that people have used as transmutes and then later regretted losing. I chucked all my ToD cloaks because they weren't really my style, but I know lots of people who do favor them, for style and/or roleplay. But that too was game-induced pressure to occupy 5 inventory slots because you might want to use it someday.

tl;dr Quest/campaign rewards should be made BoP and reclaimable once earned, if you want to give us the best possible experience with the current systems in place. Put in the necessary mechanics so that they can't be used to circumvent the SH coffer or refinement system, and make our lives easier and more pleasant.

    Hi becky,

I can't comment too much on what you've said, although I will mention that I have 2 full bags (of our biggest bags!) of fashion on live, so I understand the concerns about fashions. (And I'm sure the other devs will vouch for me talking about that)

Having established that I'm nuts about fashion, I wanted to add in a method to reclaim the familiar cloak and the battlerager fashion to the repeatable reward pack, but I wasn't able to for the release of the module.

That being said, I've given myself a task to do it as a post-launch QoL feature because I agree that we should be able to reclaim transmute items... and also because I want a stable of battlerager fashion and cloaks to give to all of my (many) alts. o:)
