installing Neverwinter/arc on external usb/HDD!?

Hi! all

1stly to mods: i have no idea where this topic would truly be most appropriate to post so i post it here..if theres a more appropriate thread for this post please kindly move this topic there...thx

k so i was wondering about and wanted to ask...if i wanted to install neverwinter/arc onto my external seagate harddrive..is that possible or will some files like in documents or such will be installed onto the main HDD anyways!?...and my installing onto external usb/HDD i mean such that when i plug my external usb/HDD in some other laptop/pc i can still run the game without any other installations onto that other pc/laptop...

    I would say no. When you install a program on your computer it makes entries in your Registry so the program knows where to find the files it needs.
    So, if you just took a USB/external HDD drive with the game on it and plugged it in to another PC without installing it on that PC it won't know where to find the files it needs to run.
    At least, that's my understanding.

    I've been able to run offline games from an external drive by editing a text file that include the drive pathing, but the presence of said text file basically made this a supported feature. It was used in creating multiple parallel installations of Baldur's Gate with varying mod combinations too.

    No idea how well it would work with a more complex beast like this. You definitely need to be able to tell the game client where to look for the files.

    u can just copy whole neverwinter file from pc to usb/hdd and then copy it back to other pc it should work ( my main pc is only place where i downloaded whole game and patches on others i just copy piggs files from main pc when big updates)
