Feedback - Contribution UI I don't like that you can't see how much items are worth when everything is at capacity, not just in marks but in how much they'd help with progress. Information is very sparse. You can't see what types of structures could go on the locked plots. There's next to no information about what the upgrades do. "Coffer capacity increases" - by how much? "Unlocks 3 new plots" - are these pre-set? What can you do with them? I like to know things ahead of time. I like to plan. I don't even mind so much being on a predetermined path, but I want to know more about where it leads.
I'm also annoyed that I've now got 4 stacks of character-bound "treasures" in my bag, which are useless until something else can be built. The HE-awarded items, I'm fine with just opening the HE rewards while standing by the mimic, and immediately dumping in all the stuff.
Bug - Can't clear an un-donateable item I dragged a crafting person over to the interface to see if that would provide any sort of information, which it did not. All it told me was labor is full. So I tried dragging some other items over just to annoy myself some more, and the game prompts me to discard them. My worker is stuck there. Closing the interface and opening it doesn't reset it. Leaving the stronghold and coming back doesn't reset it. There is no option to click and remove. I don't know if leaving for long enough for the instance to close would do the trick.

You can clear out your worker by choosing the "donate" button (I forget the wording) next to the item you want to donte (like shards, for example). That'll clear out your worker.

I'll have to check that out. I didn't have anything left from HEs when I was mucking around with it.
Feedback - structure costs Some of these things seem bizarrely disproportionate, even with how little I've been able to see of it. If donating profession workers is the only way to get your labor up, that's asking people to make a substantial sacrifice (admittedly, I have no idea how many are required to get the basics running). Meanwhile, if the numbers that have been posted are correct, I have enough gold to fund that aspect of everything, by myself, right now.
THis will force people into guilds early on thus causing the metrics for guilds to look positive so they can show the execs a chart that say hey we released Guild focused content and look everyone loves it.
Ah-ha! Just as I suspected! There was a worthy opinion in there after all! Whether or not it was my goading that got it into the open, I am very glad that it made it there. Yes indeed kind gentleperson. Not to stray completely off-topic, but I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. I largely suspect this is the main (and possibly sole) reason behind much of what is going on with the mod and everything else right now.
After all, if you are familiar with the financial statements, and the layoffs (as I am sure a gentleperson such as yourself is) then it is obvious that the devs would be being leaned on VERY hard by the owners right now. They (the devs) are likely doing the best they can, under the circumstances. But, the circumstances are not easy ones to be sure. It is actually one of the reasons I am trying so hard to help them with my "constructive criticism" in various threads. (With very mixed success it seems, unfortunately.) I have been in similar situations in my career many times. Not the same industry of course, but in the same situation.
Again, it is my intention to use this thread as its provided in an attempt to help the devs help themselves and us. They simply have to take advantage of the opportunity.
Lastly, yes, I also agree that it is refreshing to verbally spar with someone who knows how to do it with civility. Cheers kind sir and/or madam.

1) All buildings should be able to be torn down by someone with the proper permissions.
EDIT: Ok... to get around this we dissolved our guild on preview, and made a new one. The Millabout plot only shows that a farm can be built there. So how did our lumberyard end up at that spot?
I'm glad you got around it, aimeesellers. I'm very alarmed that you managed to get a restricted structure on the wrong plot. I added the destruction prevention to make it so guilds couldn't accidentally destroy a building required for creation of core resources, as that would get the guild into a broken state. The plots should be limited only to one of each structure unlocking in sequence.
I'm glad you weren't able to do it again; I'll see if I can find out what happened.

Thanks for the feedback, beckylunatic, the interface has been changed to remove the drag and drop section. It wasn't as useful as we'd hoped and issues like the one you highlighted cropped up a lot. That section at the top has been replaced with a reminder about the current construction target.

That's a good idea, actually.
Has there been any progress regarding trying to donate more than the coffer can hold and it accepting only what it has room for..?
Current example: I need 23 more "points" to top off the coffer for Item X. I have no idea how many points each Item X is worth, and/or the math is confusing.
So I grab a stack of Item X that, unbeknownst to me, equals 28 points. I go through the procedure of dropping it into the Mimic, and then I realize that the Mimic didn't take it. There's no message, not notice, no nothing.
So now I have to drop Item X into the coffer one at a time. and continuously mouseover the little icon to see how much space is remaining, and perhaps, if I've over ambitions, grab a pen and paper and figure out the maths.
What my guildies (and people here) would like to see is more along the lines of the following:

Perhaps accompanied by a message that states how many Item X were accepted (the top space on the Mimic screen would be a GREAT place for that message...) and why: "Item X is worth 2 points each."
I understand that this sounds like an excruciatingly difficult bit of programming... but have faith that you guys can make it happen. :-)

We are working on improving the whole donation experience right now, instynctive, especially the messaging of what's happening if something isn't able to fit. Hopefully that will address the frustration of the trial and error of donation.

I hope your improvements also give some indication of how many points items are worth. I want to know things like what the difference is between upgrading my human sacrifices profession workers to rank 3 or just popping in a bunch of rank 1s.
Very happy that the system will finally allow me to offload all my odds and ends of Dark Fey and Shadowmantle seals.

Feedback: Structures Permissions
There should be an "error message" or some sort of dialog for characters who don't have permission to build a new structure.
Example:
I was in on a clone of my main character, but hadn't bothered to increase his Guild Rank, so he was still Rank 1. I had set the permissions so that only Rank 7s can build a new structure. I didn't even think about permissions when I went over the build our farm (yayy!), and kept clicking on the "Build" link. However, nothing was happening. The button wasn't greyed out, so I kept clicking it, and OK, until after about 5 minutes of swearing, I realized that character didn't have permission to build.
Possible solutions: "Grey out" the button, or at the very least provide a message that says "You do not have permission to build new structures" or some such ilk.
Thanks!

The new Mimic interface is great! Being able to utilize the slider on some things is an excellent idea... perhaps that technology can be applied to other things, besides enchantments.
However: placing surplus gear is a bit of a PITA. Not game-breaking, but it does take some time to place each piece of gear separately... especially if you're stocked up on it and have 40 or 50 items to feed into the Mimic.
Thanks!

I think we found the issue... the bug happens when you build on a plot using the guild window interface. It lets you build the current build target on any open plot. If you build from the location using the sign, you are fine... you cant make that mistake.

A slight clarification there ... when I built the lumberyard from the guild window I was pretty sure I had clicked on the correct plot and told it to build. When I went back to the stronghold tab in the guild window, it was building it on the plot above in the list (the one normally reserved for a farm). Sure enough 15 min later, we had a lumberyard where the farm should have gone and we were stuck.
Our end solution on Preview was to dissolve the guild (we only had 10 or so of our members over there) and try again. This time we have only built structures from the sign by the plot we want them on, never from the guild window. Looking back of course, the Lumberyard quest did say to go to the lumberyard to build it (which of course, being the type to play around with things until we break it ...) we didn't do.

Bug: Formatting issue? The "Maximum storage of 1,920" message is in an odd place. Perhaps make the "header" a little taller to accommodate the message, or simply change the
"Ready to Tend: 1,920" to
"Ready to Tend: 1,920/1,920"
Feedback on this: Changing the "Ready to Tend" message just above the purple bar would created a user-friendly "at-a-glance" message. In fact, it could be changed to read "Ready to Tend: x/1,920" (in the case of a level 1 structure). If you wanted to get fancy with it, you could even "color code" the "Ready to Tend" numbers. Perhaps like the following example:
Ready to Tend: 1/1,920
Ready to Tend: 1,440/1,920 (could be used for 75% - 99% full)
Ready to Tend: 1,920/1,920 --or--
Ready to Tend: MAX/1,920

The Stronghold becomes a little fancier as you increase the Guild Hall rank. So you should see less rubble, more decorations, banners, and so on as you progress.
