Just saw the update from Andy on the first page of this thread. "Database issues" sounds very very dire. Like now is when we find out they didn't back up the player database...
Some of my guildies said, their item level went down from 4k to 3k.. perhaps it has something to do with the issue.
A roughly 12 hour delay (at least) when we were told "up to 6 hours" is not cool, as most of us no doubt feel.
However, I just want to put this out there - I think this game is a pretty amazing product overall. Can't think of another game that has this much story depth, opportunity to try new things, event items I actually want, AND doesn't try to overheat my comp. Compared to other flashier titles that have to look so nice because everything else in them are so ill-designed, I think I'll be playing my poor HR until Neverwinter shuts down.
Although I probably shouldn't have said that >.> But Umm.. I tried adding you when the servers were up for 10 mins :P Didn't notice you had your handle as a Signature though. Lmao
I'll most likely be one when they come back up. Honestly, if you had sent me a request while they were up I probably would have said "later" as I tried to feverishly work through my professions on my all of my characters! I do have two accounts to get through, after all!
Was up briefly, now back down, launcher window updated to reflect maintenance until 6pm PST (12 hour maintenance window).
On a side note, I have worked enterprise level disaster recovery exercises where we have restored entire data center infrastructure in less time than that. App servers take longer because tape libraries only work so fast.

At this point, to be perfectly honest, Im actually hoping I get an email stating they mistakenly deleted my characters. That would make things very simple for me.

yeah i completely agree honestly. but i do enjoy this game a lot.
lets hope they not Nerf the Classes by not much i see the Guardian Fighter and oath will be Nerf at 60 and up thsi will be hard for us to Solo Areas that could on the norm Be done solo
The item lvl drop it seems is due to gems and armor kits not giving their previous value.
Yeah with the quick look that i was able to get every stuff that has ilvl listed seemed to be same value so armor kits and jewel "kits" are propably giving a whole lot less than they did earlier.
I wonder how many of my characters I would have gotten my professions finished on if dinner hadn't gotten done at the same time as the servers came up. (Just noticed I'm wearing some food, since I was trying to quickly get my characters done while making sure my glucose levels didn't keep dropping. Eating and gaming don't mix well.)
Is it just me or the neverwinter nights employees went home to their families without enabling the server. I bet they forgot about pushing the on button.
They say they are planning something special for us!!
