Yes the good doktor is a plague doctor. He cures it AND prevents it by killing undead. The undead are responsible for the black plague, but it was covered up and blamed on rats (who indeed carry it, but THEY got it from the undead) (but if you want to be specific, he dual wields voodoo scythes) proactive curing ftw
