I'm so sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I'd always enjoyed seeing and interacting with Thundrax in-game. He was a kind and iconic presence. I'd only learned last year of both his health issues and his offline contributions to the Champions universe. I'll miss seeing him. We are all poorer for his loss.
Talents or specializations? Talents are pretty straightforward I think, so I didn’t bother to include them. The two AoEs are for the reason Flow suggested. Bullet Hail with advantage gives you a shield for when you want to play more defensively, but the cone isn’t as useful as the wide sphere of Lead Tempest. You really…
The useful distinction is that it would have a higher defensive cap than Defiance against a single damage type, which would be balanced by a lower defense against multiple damage types. The more damage types the more your resistance is split.
What I'd really like is the ability to customize my own sidekick the way I can create my own nemesis, and have "Summon Sidekick" bring it out as a controllable pet through an ultimate power selection. I realize we're way past that level of development effort, but I can dream...
In the theme of the Shield powerset suggestion I put out there, a Shield defensive passive could be dodge-based like Lightning Reflexes and include a damage reduction like Invulnerability on a successful dodge/avoid. This would simulate your shield taking the hit, otherwise you take the full impact. If you throw your…
Maybe the adaptive armor could work like: Every time you receive a type of damage you gain 20% resistance to it for 20 seconds, stacking up to around 160% (or whatever, but it should be higher than Defiance). But you can only have up to 160% of total resistances from the power, so if you receive damage of a different type…
I'll take another look at it over the weekend. I'm also going to experiment with Compassion. I'd discounted it because the description makes it sound as though I'd never be able to build stacks while soloing, but I now understand I can trigger it with either BCR or Compassion.
While Torrent of Arrows w/advantage can proc Engrage and Pulverizer with the knock, you're also knocking mobs way away from you, which can be a problem if you plan to use melee as your heavy attack. Gas Arrow can take Challenge, and Storm of Arrows can root mobs and also take Challenge, so you could root groups in the…
For this shield-wielding hero I wanted a pretty high defense, so AoRP feels like a better fit. Nanites is an interesting idea though. It's one of those powers I tend to forget exists!
I tried it out on PTS. It's a little bit clunky yet, but I'll experiment with some alternatives more over the weekend. I have an old Force character that this kind of build might work well for.
Here's a slightly different variation. I neglected to include a self-heal, so I swapped Defensive Combo for Conviction and shuffled some powers around to accommodate it. I also made PRE the primary SS for this one to show you another option that could work. You'd sacrifice a lot of crit severity, but gain a lot of crit…
@phazeun, maybe something like this. It's mostly a straight up Might build, with some Celestial attacks/heals thrown in. Using AoPM as a passive lets you take PRE as a third SS rather than REC, so you boost your heals more. If you wanted to be more tanky you could swap that out for Invulnerability or Defiance, but you'd…
Thanks, I'm not that familiar with HW or Fire but Arc sounds great. I love Brimstone's animation (if it's the one where the character lifts their weapon in the air and calls down fire). Invulnerability might not be a bad choice, or maybe even AoPM to take it in a more support-oriented direction. Sorry if it seems like I'm…
Yeah, I can spam Iniquity without any loss of health, and it benefits from Caregiver. I also swapped Backhand Chop, which I'd taken for the Trauma advantage, for Resurrection Serum. Trauma doesn't seem to be useful very often.
I've been playing with the build more and I'm starting to like the way it feels. Bountiful Chi helps keep up my stacks of focus even when trying to focus more on healing, and Iniquity is a fantastic single target heal I can use to support the tank through target assist. I swapped out Arbiter for Brawler for a bit of extra…
I’ve been thinking about something pretty similar, but pairing Heavy Weapons with Fire as I think there are more synergies there. I haven’t really played with either set before though, so I don’t have any advice to offer yet myself.
Energy is great actually. I mostly rely on DK for general purpose combat. It can be charged on the move, provides its own energy and can build stacks of FotM out of combat, as well as proccing Chi Manipulation. My typical rotation in heavy single target fights is something like DK -> DCx3 -> Demolishx2 or 3. There are…
I'd considered Sentinel Mastery, but it sounds like it'd heal only allies and not yourself. Arbiter Mastery seems like it could work well with Defensive Combo, shielding you while you heal.
Kind of what I'm going for. A bit of a jack of all trades. The game provides so much freedom to create any type of character, but I still feel limited by traditional roles. I want to try something different that still offers some group utility. I'd take other powers for group heals but I'm having a hard time finding…
I'd like to see this happen as well. Even taking more than one passive doesn't really let you fill two roles effectively. A tank will want different specializations and advantages than a DPS, maybe even different superstats.
Anyone ever try putting in two of the defense cores that give up to 50% damage resistance against a specific type of damage? Like fire resistance vs. the ape, or cold resistance vs. Kiga? I've been considering getting duplicate Justice Tights of Fitness and kitting them out for each cosmic.
Seems like all of my go-to AOs were recently either nerfed or have fewer synergies outside of their own power set. I like Aggressor’s cost discount, and the stat boosts give me a small bump to my crit severity. I’d love to rank it up but I’m not sure where I’d take the points from.
I can't check right now, but my guess is with AoPM, CON primary and going all in on DEX, using TK and EM both at R3, Parry/Elusive Monk, Legion BP of Elusiveness with 2 Gambler's Gems...you can probably expect to top out around 70% dodge. Just a ballpark guess though.
Hey MD. You mention you can keep Major Vengeance at 100% dodge while under Lead Temptest OR Bullet Beatdown. Is there a synergy between dodge (or one of the related powers/specs) and Bullet Beatdown that I've missed? I'm not sure how that works.
Hm...I wasn't aware Dodge took a hit. I just logged Downshift in and see that he's still sitting at 98.7% Dodge after a full combo of Thundering Kicks. If it dropped, it wasn't by more than a percentage point. I could close that gap by working Crashing Wave Kick into the build, or maybe with some gear improvements. Recluse…
I've been playing DCUO for the last several months for a bit of a change. For about a week I've returned to my Warden in LotRO to explore some of the new Gondorian lands. I occasionally dabble in STO and SWKOTOR as well. It's mostly the franchise stuff...places and stories I've always wanted to be able to explore since I…
I like knocking things back a whole lot. In the event anyone decides to run with this suggestion though, remember if knockback is dropped on a power, the damage has to come up to compensate for it.
I like the texture of the suit. It's like the skin of some terrible mythical beast rather than obviously tights or armor. I could imagine how this would be used to frighten someone and cast doubts about Batman's humanity. I've always liked the stories where batman cultivates rumors that he's more than a man, that he may…
I really enjoyed it a lot more than the first one. Garfield is terrific as both Peter and Spider-Man. My one real complaint is with the music. Not the occasional pop song that shows up, which seemed to fit well...but with the score. It felt too...triumphant in an old-school corny way. Like it was trying to be to Spidey…
True that I rely on knocks for energy, but I use three tapped Uppercuts to apply quick, cheap knock resist stacks before I go all out with a charged Haymaker so knocks aren't an issue for me. I've also dropped Roomsweeper and primarily rely on Defensive Combo and devices for AoE, or leave the trash mobs to the rest of the…
