Well, if you were eight feet tall and weighed half a ton, but had your junk constantly squashed by seemingly-indestructible purple pants normally worn by a man a fraction of your size, you're be screaming and constantly angry, too...
Lockboxes have all the cool costumes... on a ridiculously low droprate, so you spend as much money as you can to get them. So of course they're gonna make lots of those.
Lets customize Nemesis henchmen, fix Nem weapon skins, and add more Nem powersets... INSTEAD OF BELCHING OUT LOCKBOXES EVERY FEW WEEKS. SERIOUSLY, IF THEY CAN SPEND TIME MAKING LOCKBOXES, THEY CAN SPEND TIME FIXING EXISTING GAME ASPECTS.
I think Devour Essence could be swapped out for something, too, but I'm not sure what. It just doesn't feel like it fits with the rest of the powers in the AT, being some weird soul-sucking magic thing instead of a feral animalistic thing like the other attacks.
That gives me an idea for a character... Y'know how when you crack open a geode, how it's full of spiky crystals? Imagine a stone-skinned Mountain AT using that combo to have crystalline "hair".
Well, I've got Hair, Head, and Eyes of Ice... now to slooowly work on the Body, Hands, Legs, and Feet (mostly by buying Zen, using that for keys, and hoping I get lucky with the Questionite Crates from lockboxes... anyone got a couple hundred spare dollars?) Oh, and maatmons... that costume file doesn't seem to show up on…
Yes, I mentioned that already. Thought the problem is, that coats the entire character in ice, clothing included, which isn't what I had in mind. I guess I could fake an icy look by using metallic skin, but... Dammit, why's everything gotta cost so freaking much in this game?
Tempting, especially considering that getting the ice parts for the Q-Store will take nearly a MILLION Questionite... 6 items at 150K each is 900K... Augh, this'll take forever...
No, it mostly steps from a lot of complicated personal and real-life issues interfering, among them being a move halfway across the country which was preceded by my father dying, and simply no longer having the spare money to afford to keep the sub I was maintaining mostly for the monthly stipend. I wanted to come back,…
Knew there was a reason I unsubscribed months ago... after not playing for nearly a year... Game still crap?... yup, still crap. But the crap is bigger now.
Wish I'd been aware of this in time to get the stuff needed to obtain the items - invisible weaponry is seeming much more useful than I gave credit for.
Something I've noticed about, well, nearly all of the sets released since the big revamp that gave us tons of vehicles, everything in lockboxes, and our "wonderful" new crafting system, is that they only really work with other pieces in their set - everything else has some sort of major category or clipping issue, greatly…
They had a PERFECT opportunity to do this sort of thing when they tweaked the engine to add the wing/tail sliders... but they didn't. What would've been so difficult to modify/add female mass/waist sliders while they were already in the process of modifying/adding the other sliders?
Damn right. If I'm playing a woman who can punch a truck across a parking-lot, she deserves to look the part, not just be an unusually-tall fashion-model. Nobody would believe a male character had super-strength if he looked like the only way he could barely pass 150 lbs. is if he was soaking-wet and kept his shoes on, so…
But that's all it feels like is being done. Being maintained. Not improved, or expanded, or even repaired. Like someone just swings by every few days to make sure the hamsters running in the wheels keeping the server powered-up havent died, and that's about it. Sure, every once in a while they throw a new vehicle or…
I am starting to doubt they're even doing that much, aside from the lockboxes. Seriously. This thread began in October... OF 2011. It's now January of 2015. What the HELL have they been doing for FOUR YEARS?
Yeah. MAJORLY disappointed in this, since I was one of the folks who begged for ages to get a Skeleton torso/limb set to match the head and hands we already had.
These two statements are related. It's like saying "I'm totally unfamiliar with sci-fi, but have never heard of this 'Star Wars' thing before." Mazinger is second only to perhaps Gundam in terms of famous Japanese giant robots.
I meant that it shouldn't be very difficult to do, if even WoW with its older engine base (some of its oldest coding reveals to be just WC3 with a groundlevel camera placement) can pull it off.
Doubtful - a lot of costume parts rely on clipping through the body-mesh to hide the various shortcuts used to create them - for example, the headpiece that looks like an array of large bolts scattered across the top of the head, the bottoms of those bolts actually all converge at a point somewhere inside the head,…
Look at an anatomy chart - hands and feet lack visible muscle, being mostly overlaid by tendons and ligaments. Head, most muscles are around the face and neck, with nothing at the top or back of the head.
Oh, then that is PERFECT. My two biggest anxieties about this concept were the sudden helmeting and having to bother buying an aura-pack just for using one part on this character - so glad to hear the set has workarounds for that.
I'm fairly convinced there's no Water powerset because the devs are afraid of the folks out there who would "hilariously" change all the colors to yellow and make "The Urinator" or whatever.
