My characters
Lemme explain.
It's a limited time offer that actually can boost sales for vehicle tune-up kits.
Because upgraded UNTIL ride is turned into an account-wide MK II vehicle.
Which means a possible money from players who otherwise would never spend anything on tune-up kits. Now they will probably spend 700 Zen (or an equivalent of it in Questionite, a difference that doesn't matter from PWE perspective because someone will pay it anyway either in subscription or Zen fees) as opposite to not spending anything at all.
It's actually a very smart move.
Usually I'm against a free giveaways of things like adventure packs, but this one is a very smart idea.
As for the Cyborg Beast costume pack - it wasn't a very popular pack to begin with.
The most demanded part of it important for the people who are not playing bestial toons, a robotic chest, was available anyway from 5000 kills perk for Bureau 17 robots.
Mind you, I have no use for either part of this giveaway. I'm not using strange disfunctional robotic parts on my synth toons and I already have vehicles. Just noting it for the record.

Did I miss something? The shuttle I got was character specific and couldn't be put in the bank.
What you missed is that you can purchase a vehicle tune up kit in the C store to turn a rank 1, character bound Until shuttle, into a rank 2, Account bound [but comes unbound so you can choose to trade or sell it] Until Shuttle.
I figured it out as soon as they announced it as a giveaway. I thought it was an obvious and excellent strategy. free stuff is free, and of some people spend a little money to make their free ones better, then that's a good thing.
But you could still just log in with say 40+ toons and just pick up free shuttles without tuning up .
Its still rather nice Cryptic doing that. But I think we all all missing Finns point a little :P

yes i believe this was aimed at the people who consider the free stuff still too expensive.. and complain vociferously about it.

I'd like to see your data or at least the access to Cryptic's data you have to make this statement, because I've seen quite a few bestial bots.

As opposed to how many non-robotic toons?
Because if you compare it to entire population of demons, pretty people in tights or armored people, it's hardly a prevalent trend.
Not that many considering bulk of CO population is either prettyified, or grimdark demonic. Bonus points if both.

I've seen it used on all kinds of characters, but that's probably cause I frequent costume contests so there's more crowds of folks that appear. Personally I have used parts on several costumes, cause robotic animal parts are interesting to work out on other concepts.

I picked up the free vehicle, drove around in it for 10 seconds before getting bored, then found out I can't delete it.
So now one inventory space is forever occupied and unusable.

No ways! The RA is a great concept! If you want the power without getting to lvl 40, that's a different thing. Don't blame the whole RA for it, I love it! It makes me want to play more

but at level 35 it does get a pretty awesome AoE! Pity it is on such a long timer...
Wrist Bolter + AA does not give a stack of overdrive. You can get two stacks of overdrive for a few seconds if you spam recon circuits... But, well, you might as well just use the eb for energy.

It's not so bad, the second spec tree for the AT has the one where the Energy builder lowers foe resistance to your attacks for 12 seconds, so you can make it work more for you.
Craziness. Next they'll say that blocking also gives you a bit of energy.
The point of overdrive is to gain energy when you use multiple toggles. Excpet that you don't. You can use recon circuts and spam rocket fist right up until you run out of energy. Even if you're using AA, you'll still need to turn off your heal just to gain enough energy through your EB to attack with powers that actually do decent damage.
With similar heals, such as BCR or Bionic Shield, you don't have to do that. In fact, in a proper power armor toggle build you also don't have to do that either. Overdrive is pretty much worthless at giving you energy, which means you need to depend on your EB much more than a decent build.

we didn't have to grind for it. and it can be easily thrown away
The free vehicle is especially nice cause freebers can do the
vehical based missions now. and its not seriously game unbalancing.
If they did not give us the "free" stuff it wouldn't mean they would
work on whatever it is YOU want. we would just get NOTHING.
and chances are even if you had 100 people agreeing it wouldnt
change things in the way you want.
The Programmers of CO are doing things to improve the game
this is a GOOD thing. and it is not behind a cash wall either also
very good.
So stop trying to sabotage the game.
The OP is poking fun at the people who are actually complaining about the tiny cost of the vehicle and costume set giveaway.
