I just made one of my alts, Cosmic Crusader, a new costume. It works great because the chest texture merges with the insignia, portraying a blue glove shooting out yellow beams. My character's concept is a cosmic force projector who shoots out yellow energy beams.
it's basically been over 800 days since I've last played this game so uhm, welcome back to me I guess, hehe! first thing I did when I came back was make some costumes, haha! I really miss my gold membership, they really do give you quite a lot more to work with when it comes to costumes, but I made the most of the free pieces.
this is my new Soldier archetype! if I had freeform/gold, she would have been an acrobatic gunslinger with maybe martial arts and/or swords. her name is Wildfire.
this is her casual military uniform, equipped with the equipment & tools she needs:
and recently did this one. just a classic crimefighting outfit, tights & all, I really like it. a bit of homage to the lady version of quite a famous superhero! I was really liking the integrated chest stuff so I went with that and figured some extra metal plating in some areas could never hurt.
sorry for the terrible picture quality, I still haven't figured out how some people get such pretty looking screenshots. :c
Welcome back Paroxysmal, nice looking costumes you have there. Your screenshot quality looks fine to me, the only thing i'd personally do is turn off the black outlining as I think it detracts from the look of the world, though that's a very subjective matter, you might prefer it on. It's in options - video - comic-style outlining on/off, about 4 from the bottom, if you want to check it out. Also it depends where you take the screenie, Outside in MC is lower quality than inside an instance or in Canada (inside or outside), and the powerhouse tailors has an even higher render quality i find.
ie:
I treat a screenie like taking a photo I suppose, the background is as important as the subject really, erm, except in the examples above, lol .
...and speaking of which, here's my latest character...
I seem to be having a real spate of patriotic themed heroes lately, and BRITMAN is no exception. Also messed around with the presentation a little to try and make it look like an old comic page. Little nod towards you guys from Union server there too, /wave.
Kind of a long time since I've visited this thread, made a bunch of stuff since then, but I figure that I could give an update on a costume that I once posted (I think I did, at least)
So here's a Lemuria-esque mecha I made, recolored and updated~
Something that's supposed to resemble a cosmic hero of sorts, Queststar. Origianlly went by "Starrior" in concept, his current name is actually one I've had on a list of random generator finds I've had since my CoH days.
Seriously. Tons of names. But I digress.
The costume really came together after I picked out the Id Mastery aura, but the rest of him (concept-wise) is a work in progress.
When building a character with power armor, I prefer to give them heavy, rugged and robust armor. I mean put those servomotors to work, right? Make the people believe the armor can punch holes through concrete walls! Make 'em believe that handguns are useless! I just can't suspend disbelief with some of the form fitting armor and power armor fan service I see in comics and manga--smexy but not practical.
So, getting my Samus kick on, here's Gargoyle Null--a gal having too much fun in big suits of reasonably designed power armor without lethal boob plates:
If stealth is needed, I suppose we can call Batman or Black Widow. But sometimes a sledgehammer is exactly what's needed. If you want to dish out some state of the art brutality in NBC combat? Call the Gargoyle!
But maybe I should try my hand at a lightly armored and compact suit for the next costume slot. Hmm. I'll have to think about that.

You seem to have a good head for power armors. Maybe I could stand to give El Vaquero some more parts.

I really love this mech, particularly the head, the limb proportions and the colors. Good work!
Here is my first ever Character in CO (still fairly new!) I am not sure how I feel about the blue, but didn't want to leave it only a dual color costume, may lighten the blue a little...
Radiant AT with a 'light' and 'angel' theme. Maybe not very original but please feel free to throw me some feedback, even if it is via PM

I like it. Most of my angel attempts end up coming out pretty bland.

One thing I would suggest is to not use the obvious pieces. Try to get in the mindset of why are you wearing tights or why you are wearing a type or tech boot.
Is your angle modern? Is it more on a celestial plane? What would a normal angle look like in your world? Does it have a plain look?
These are questions I always like to ask people on concepts. Never like to just go for the throat until I can figure out the why on the looks. There is no reason why your angel can't wear a military look or perhaps a gladiator look or hell...why does he even need armor? Maybe you can pop that shirt right off!
I
I say figure these out first and then go from there. I would even say do that with coloring. Depending on era you might want to wear: gold, bronze, unknown matetial, simple tights
Well it's been awhile since I posted in this thread. Have two more characters I just made not too long ago and by far been enjoying their looks (even had a few compliments, even won some contests with them). And yes the usual animal theme continues among all my characters
First up: Iyera
I thought I go full on mage this time around. I have another mage character but they do melee attacks as well (having a sword and more armor than mage cloth) so go for the traditional all magic offense.
Next: Tinuk
Alien from an apocalyptic world that has been in ruins from hundreds of years of war. A mix of high tech armors with tribal/cloth to give it that survivor apocalypse world feeling.

I really like this guy. The small bits of feather, wood, and cloth really add a lot of character and inherent story.
But maybe I should try my hand at a lightly armored and compact suit for the next costume slot. Hmm. I'll have to think about that.
So, on that note, I made a stealth suit for Gargoyle Null, putting in armored obliques to counter the wasp waistedness and leather texture to suggest plastic and carbon fiber as opposed to metal. Perhaps I should have chosen darker tones for running around in the dark but, instead, I stuck with the color combination in all her other suits:
One could argue that I upload on this thread too often, but I really feel that I made something pretty cool this time, so I wanted to share it.
I haven't seen it done yet, having discovered something reeaaaally cool with the Foxbat boots that went with the character at hand perfectly. I present:
Mizumi and her Eviscerator MK I powerarmor suit! (Because original names won't happen around here)
I've had a creative burst of-.. creative? lately, so I could always upload more stuff if desired, you sick person, you.
Here's Starbuck, member of the Intergalactic Force Rangers (is that taken? o.o), chosen to champion Earth (er, more specifically Millennium City. Goodness knows it needs help).
I rarely do tights, but I'm really proud of how he came out. I'm glad I bought the Golden Age set, after all!
Thought to share one of my most beloved characters I have ever made - Fantomask!
[ @Skaargoroth in-game / @summerfields on the Forums ] Current character roaster: The Iconica, Lady Mythica, Black Jackal, Omni-Woman, Fantomask Currently waiting for: Moar comics! And maybe City of Titans, too. Hopefully!

My computer is an 8 year old brick so these are max settings with like 3 frames a second.
Still, out of all my costumes i like this one the most due to proportions and the nifty coloring.

Except this time nemesis is in blue, and hero in red.
Vermilion is the hero. Cyan is her villainous copy.
I have this costume since 2011 and aside of moving around accessories like backpacks and grenades, it's unchanged. I like it far too much.
I give you... Meteor Mouse:

The White-Winged Weekend Warrior!
really do love the sci fi soldier armour
perticulrly the chest and collar

wouldn't it depend on what the armour is used for
say stealth?

U-SHL Shellie Blaster Pistol
it was from a crafted power replace, pre on alert
Shellie blaster pistols. That was, sadly, Arms legacy unlock.
I'm lucky enough to had them crafted before On Alert.
I agree, the right tool for the right job.

One costume occupies 4 slots. That's a bit extreme, but all variations are supposed to be the same armor with programmable camo pattern.

Iron Sentinel. Going for an old school power armor vibe. It's annoying hard to pull off, in this game.
Wraith, tech archer.
Crimson Falcon, showing how hard it is to get a screenie of a character mid-swing.
Shockwave, in his Pulsar Mk Zero configuration.

Devastator character who swings a lovely hammer. There's an MC Hammer reference here somewhere that I'm missing. Enjoy.
