I really enjoy looking at the costumes and ideas of people around here and I just thought of bringing an idea from CoH forums here... a post were we all can share what we consider our best costumes... It would also help to have them all being on one thread so we can compare styles and get inspiration.
So... let's post screenshots of your costumes (doesn't matter if we have seen them before)
So many to choose from. Rugby is probably my favorite though. I have others of his that people seem to enjoy that i will post later. But for now, Rugby himself.
Hmmm... hard choice in here... well since the image post limit is 4, I guess I'll post my 4 most popular costumes (AKA the ones peeps seem to like the most)... I guess that makes them my best costumes right?
Okay here they go:
Terah Li Al-Shia
Frostbite
Shalassa
Rune

Like what I've seen already, this looks to be a good thread. For me probably Exray, his costume turned out much differently than I'd originally intended but I quite like the simplistic look of it.
Oh, I don't have to pick just one? Because I was only able to narrow it down to three:
Spider-Bat,
Blackwing,
and Dr. Destiny (Randall W. Destiny, PhD in Applied Metaphysics from University of Michigan Millennium City).
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"
My newest favorite design (I've had this one planned but only recently opened a character slot for it) is:
Jolly Rodger
I've always wanted to do a Modok/Arnim Zola face-as-torso design and this is about as good as I can devise with the current parts. Since it ended up being a big skull thing I made him a dual sword using pirate.
- - - - -
The design I get the most compliments for is:
Larch
On the left is his CoH incarnation. I'd say he definitely feels more treelike in CO, especially when I bust out the super sizer.
- - - - -
The first character in CO I was really happy with the look of is:
Formicidae Scout
My ant-alien invader, who is also a rebuild from CoH with the original on the left. The stuff you can do with limbs in this game is simply a joy.
Solar Saber, a Disciple AT using recolored psionic weapons as a substitute for superheated plasma constructs.
Rocket Roxie, originally a tip of the hat to the Rocketeer, here in a silver retro sci-fi outfit.
and
A.R.E.S., my take on power armor. He started out as a planned nemesis for one of my other characters and I ended up liking the design so much he became a new character instead.
Hmmm...I haven't fiddled around much with the costume maker here because I'm waiting to get a better graphics card (half the choices are greyed out for me, or appear to do nothing on my card). So far I think this one's my "best", but mostly because I first made a costume that was entirely wrong for the character.
Decorum, when you can use higher-res graphics on High Wire, I think you're going to be astonished at what your costume looks like...

Oh, I'm sure, given what I see of others' pics. I'm sure my whole roster will look quite different. Plus there'll be a lot of features to tweek that I can't see what they do right now.
This is actually incredibly awesome. How in the world did you get the facial expression?
General question to everyone else, how are y'all getting that basic blue comic background on your screenshots? I've seen it a few times in CO screens for a while now but not sure what the method was.

By my best ones I consider costumed who were appreciated by completely random people, usually at RenCen, Powerhouse, or Kodiak, as it is the best benchmark for me - I may not be truly objective about my own creations, neither could be the people known to me.
So, here they are:
But he's got the strength of a ruler! The might of a king! And the shoulderpads of a psychotic linebacker!!

Its actually a mask with the face printed on it. One of the Toy solider/Harlequin options. Like this one, but with the cheeks colored the same as the face.
However, I prefer this mask better.
Creepy murder moppets are always good for giggles.
Another fine nature-themed character who's gotten some weird praise.
I *really* like that design! There's something really original about it with the torso section being his exposed 'skin' and somewhat firey looking while the rest is solid rock. Kudos.

How did you do this? Now I kinda want to make Kirby :P
EDIT: Oh nevermind I just thought about it, you used the space helmet. Awesome job hehe.

Outfit gets a lot of praise. Extremely simple; 4 color palette and extremely minimal in details.
Probably the best use I've gotten out of vine parts. And fur parts, for that matter.
Another fine nature-themed character who's gotten some weird praise.
And probably the best facial design I've ever done.
And because there are too much ninja demons and not enough pirate robots.
And the Rhino fellow on my sig.
Not my best costume, but I still enjoy the punky look.
This, on the other hand, I love to shreds.

I've seen Britania around. (I think in the Powerhouse maybe) I always thought she looked badass. Great theme.
