Weekly Sale: Retcon Tokens

First off, thanks for the sale Cryptic :smile:

Second, even with the sale, Retcon tokens still seem overpriced.

A retcon for a level 40 character with G costs around 650G.

Cosmic Keys are currently 154G on the AH, so 5 Keys for 500Z can buy a retcon with G

Safeguard Cats are selling for around 20G on the AH, so 350Z for a pack of 32 Safeguards can also buy a retcon.

By that logic, shouldn't Retcon tokens be re-priced to 350-500Z?

    keys are an arbitrary player currency - not official. 154g on ah? wouldnt pay it.

    He does have a point though since it was players abusing bugs to get globals / using bad system design to farm Q. The downside of a player run economy tends to be the human nature of said players.

    As to the AH price of keys, it's just as easy to watch Zone and keep an eye out for those wanting to sell keys.

    The real problem here, for me, is that it's cheaper to buy keys and sell em for 100g a pop, and buy a retcon with g. Nearly by double, I could get 2 retcons if I sold keys for the price one costs normally. Silly, really.

    But it used to make sense. pre-alert, when your stats were also in the retcon tree, a retcon with g cost about 1k. At that point, spending zen is worth it. Right now, with a fiat currency in place, it's not.

    Yeah i guess players do not like the AH cut so pricing them 150g, they will still get over 100g

    I usually have some fun with the keys, when i am bored i buy some keys, not from AH never from AH but from the C store and i sell them in trade for 95g each but the players have to find me in millennium city and they are not aloud to invite me to a group
