Simple suggestion: If you guys don't want to make any more game content then how about having a server that has you re-run the content starting at level 40? That is, go Diablo III and maybe even have multiple run-throughs availble. People could then keep improving their gear and you wouldn't always be parking your level 40s and re-rolling new characters.
STO has "REPLAY" buttons on the majority of their missions. I do not see why we could not also. Some of their missions have set items in the rewards and actually encourage you to rerun the mission to get them all.

That would be a start, but what I was looking for was to increase the level of content so that Westside, for example, started at level 40. The gear that would be dropped would be suitable for that level. You could go totally how Diablo III is done and have rares and uniques as drops (dare I say it, rather than in lockboxes) but that is likely to be counter to their business plan. Simply adding a new server with a boosted level should be neutral from that point of view.
The objective is to allow people to make use of their level 40s in the normal game content, because it is clear the Cyptic has no intention of adding new content of that type. What we really need is a new level 40+ area on the scale of Lemuria or the Desert, but I don't see that as happening. So, the answer is to make use of the existing content by boosting the overall level on another server. Then people could run their level 40s up to level 80 without adding content.
STO also uses LvL X Tech on both the mobs and rewards in their missions whether they're replay or you just never got around to them. The ONLY issue I see with this is that most of the comparable items in CO which would fit this either got completely removed with On Alert or got removed only to be returned as Legacy Devices(Which, IMO, should be returned to the game in the places where they were originally as an alternate means of obtaining them). As it stands now I do not know if the system could handle scaling up the rewards simply because the LvL 1-36 rewards, for the most part, suck and feel grossly incomplete. This is not to be seen as an excuse as to why this cannot happen...just an acknowledgement that something would have to be done as part of making a system like this actually work.
Overall, LvL X and Replay would be, IMO, an improvement to the mission content in this game.

-so rather than making more content, you want them to make more content.
-we are all on one server, NW, STO & CO.
-You mean another copy of the world.
make new gear and rewards for all the missions
redo all the mobs to upgrade them.
This would probably take even longer than 1 new zone.
so exactly how many DEVS do you think we have working on the game, as opposed to Diablo 3 which is Blizzard?
Basically, you are saying, since they aren't doing any new content, you want them to do a whole new Game.
the main thing that makes STO content scalable is that it is all instanced. Only the instanced content in CO could be level scaled due to the requirement that open world mobs scale to their original intended level.
I agree with you, but caveat. This is false. We share a chat server, but even our zones are on different blades. You can tell this when big events happen, and stuff like "logging on in zone 2 crashes me" occurs, which you probably remember from at least one halloween bloodmoon. That server is bugged, and they'll actually bring it down and reset without taking the whole game with it. If it weren't on different blades, something like this happening would risk taking out the entire game until a full reset took place. Obviously, bad design. I'm not even gonna start on what'd happen if one of the various CO bugs took out NWO or STO. Chaos, we'd close that day.
Now, you're right in one sense: They *do* seem to share the same bandwith. We've seen that bottleneck before and it's easily mistaken as an issue with the server, since if the internet starts crapping out when (for example) NWO launches? We get hit too. And if they have a problem with their internal network, it effects everything. That's happened from time to time, and can also lead to the illusion that we share a server. However, I can flat out guarantee you: This is not the case.
I totally want em to do a new game. If they announced CO2 (which, btw, is the best game abbreviation ever, trademark do not steal) I wouldn't even be mad about my LTS. Just sayin.
In game, I am @EvilTaco. Happily killing purple gang members since May 2008.
I'm a lifetime subscriber, but haven't played for going on two years now, because everything in the game is a been there, done that... many many times.
It truly saddens me that they have abandoned this game to no-new-content-hell. I truly loved this game.
Since they don't want to add any new zones, I really wish they would do something they already have in place on other games of theirs. Namely, add Foundry.
With Foundry, you get new content for long-term players otherwise bored with the game to play, and you get something new to do for those who really like the superhero genre and would like to tell stories within the shared world of Champions Online.
Last night I re-made one of my level 40s that I deleted almost a year ago, had a great time with a great team. I got lucky, because I couldn't get a team for the last four or five months. But still starting at zero and grabbing some noobs for the leveling up is the best part of this game.

You don't need to re-run content to improve your gear. You buy the bestest gear.
And since this game isn't gear based much. You don't need The Impervious Crotch Plate of Cosmic Epic Might, you do fine with Unwashed Underpants Of Thousand Stains.

"Champions-Online and Star Trek Online contained hundreds of hours of mediocre content!"
and "nothing was polished".
