Can't change forum avatar to a custom one.

Title states pretty much what it is. I'm wondering if custom avatars were removed at one point or if I'm missing something. I go to User CP to change my avatar, changing my avatar is not an option, other than clicking on my avatar itself, which shows the premade ones.
Am I missing something? :T
