Howdy folks. So I don't usually post here for help but the face sliders are one thing that I am NO good with lol. I have a character, Star Shot (a screen of her is in the one link in my sig since I am not at home and cant post it here), who is of native american decent. Specifically cherokee. I want to get her look more, well, native american but again the face slider is my nemesis.

I would definitely appreciate any help or suggestions on this. Thanks in advance :)

I found this information for ya Ben, it seems pretty relevant..................................

"Native Americans originally came to North America by way of the Bering Strait land bridge that formed during the last ice age. These people were from Eastern Asia and Siberia.

Anthropologically, this places them in the Mongoloid category, thus they generally display Asian physical features. Most have very dark brown or black shiny hair and an olive or darker skin tone with yellow undertones.

Facially, people of Asian decent like the Native Americans have an projected zygoma, or as you would call them, cheek bones. So usually their cheek bones tend to be very high and quite pronounced, giving them a wide looking face. They also have a wide, almost half-circle shaped palate, which lends to the physical feature of very broad straight teeth, whereas Caucasians have narrower, more crowed teeth in general. Also, most have an epicanthic fold, which is a fold of skin near the eyes by the bridge of the nose. This is what gives Asians and Native Americans the look of slanted, narrow, or small eyes, as well as a broader, flatter nose bridge.

Not all Native Americans will display these characteristics, but for the most part, they do. North American Indians comparatively look like the Inuit or Eskimos, while South American Indians may appear more Hispanic."

hey Ben, my character's Scarab and The Bug are intended to be Navajo, and while I am still tweaking I am fairly happy with how Scarab looks atm. It might be a good starter point for you to work from.

Here are some face shots of The Bug, and their grandfather for comparison - certainly easier to portray ethnicity on male faces i think

Yeah, that's the thing that has been bugging me with the whole thing. Especially with the cheek bones. The female face sliders definitely feel much more limited.

    Appreciate the help guys :)

I have always enjoyed pictures of natives, especially older ones. Because of the rough conditions they always have very amazing characteristics to their face (wrinkles and such). This picture is one of a sorta older native woman.

Using things like gaunt and etc and raising those cheeks helps alot to give those face lots of character. I also have made a younger version (didnt really change facial sliders)
