Yes, it is new content. The alert is REALLY good, and a lot of fun, the second mission is good, but its mostly just a more challenging mission with voice acting. The first mission is, frankly, lame and boring. And this content will be cycled out...content that is not playable is no content at all.
Yet, this gives me some hope for the game.
Also don't forget you can keep in touch with your friend list when playing STO and NWO, making both games the equivalent of expansion packs!
By your reasoning, Magic: The Gathering is an expansion of Poker.
Player 1: "I have a Royal Flush. What've you got?"
Player 2: "I have Black Lotus and with that I summon the Lord of the Pit and Lhurgoyf into play."
Player 1: "......"
Player 2: "I win."
No, Royal Flush's defense is too high for that. You'll need a lot more attack cards to take out its points.
Now, if all Player 1 has is two pair, ace high...

Calling champions online an actual videogame, is getting harder day by day. It feels like an empty shell, a kind of chatbox with a character editor. The story is bad, the quests are bad, the character design is the worst i've seen in any mmo so far...
Neverwinter looks much better, at least there will be no FF and stupid in - combat travelpowers, but balanced classes. Using actual items and armors is awesome, too. Oh and on the last beta weekend the PVP looked amazing.
I think NW is everything that CO will never be. It is how it is.

You need to take a break. There's no reason you have to play champions online every day; not every mmo is that kind of mmo.
Champions Online: Be the hero you wish you could be in a better game.

Haters gonna hate.
I'm gonna regret this, but I'm going to have to defend CO on some elements.
Many of the Westside and early Canada missions are really, REALLY bad, and the badness shows up now and then throughout the game, but the Lemurian arc is really interesting, the APs are fun. The character design as far as costumes has epic potential.
Freeforms can make a character into the Buff/Debuff/Tank/DPS/Healing/Kitchen Sink, or they can make a character perfectly fit YOUR concept. This is awesome, and I wish City could have done it, however, City wouldn't have let something so potentially unbalancing in.
And I play super-hero games, partly BECAUSE of the travel powers. THEY'RE FUN
I don't know Cyrone, let me ask Trailturtle when he gets back from helping promote Neverwinter at PAX.

No seriously, yes. Not the poor remaining devs scrambling to hold even maintainance-mode together, not the community reps answering selective questions and liasing with the community and press trying to maintain the illusion that everything is just fine - but to the executive PWE/Cryptic management that hold the key to a potential bright future for Champions-Online.....
Yup, they clearly do not give a damn about Champions-Online. Otherwise we would of heard something right?. That and because PWE have neutered Cryptic-Studios, they have not said anything because they are not allowed to say anything re: future development for Champions.
On-top of that I truely believe additionally we have not heard because they do not have the slightest clue how to proceed with this MMO past scrambling to satisfy PWE's monetization targets.

I have said before they should just seriously considering selling the IP rights and stuff to another studio and be done with it. with STO and Neverwinter they really have bitten off more then they can chew.
the only studio that would be a good home for this brand would be Piranha Games in Vancouver Canada. They are an Indie studio doing Mechwarrior Online and doing a BANG up job so far, and they answer to NO ONE.
That in itself would be a good enough reason, as for the other studios.... i would not want EA, Act/Blizz, or ANY ASIAN studios to even touch this. i DO NOT support corporation game studios anymore, since all the bean counters do is cater to greed and don't give a hoot about the players.
I actually still have that book, as well as most of my 2nd and 3rd edition rules and sourcebooks. I loaned my "Primus and DEMON" book to a friend years ago and never saw it again, but I'm getting a kick out of introducing my 11 and 15 year old to them.
Autoduel Champions, if I'm not mistaken, was also the rulebook that introduced helicopters and universal turrets to Car Wars. This led to my favorite CW moment of all, when I used the heavy laser in the universal turret of my modified Excalibur Timeshifter Photon Plus to burn the weapon pods off an old surplus Hind-A our opponents were attacking us with...

Lhurgoyf has an attack equal to all creatures in all graveyards. Even without the Pit Lord, it could be high enough.
