Actually CO vs. CoH would be more like this:

[Pic of Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris]

    Because unfortunately:

    [Picture of Bruce Lee's grave]

    So CO is Chuck nOrris?

That's actually a really good fit, since chuck norris didn't kill bruce lee, and CO didn't kill COX... in both cases it was a mysterious demon creature.

Amen to that, I was rather disappointed that praetorian content effectively ended at lv20 and you were shuffled off to Hero/Villain side. I understand why they did it, and Im sure Praetoria never got to see all the development it would have due to NCsuck being stupid, but I really wanted to spend more time there.

    Praetoria isn't entirely dead.

/e waves hand, this is not the Big Dog you are looking for.

given CO's art style I think it might be more like:

but aside from that yeah I agree ;)

20 pages of rather constructive conversation is hardly idiotic.

You guys have interesting takes on words like "constructive" and "conversation" sometimes.

    biffsmackwell blames the wrong department:

Given City's art style, the guy on the left should be wearing mittens.

That wasn't really an art style, that was just typical Cryptic "we can't figure out how to make this work, so screw it. Slap some paint on it and we'll call it a day".

And the fabled Paragon Studios, maintainers of what we are told was the greatest MMO ever, could never change that?

Apparently they could, but it would have required completely revamping the character model and redesigning each of the hand costumes which pretty much added up to: This Requires Too Much Time And Money That Could Be Used On Other Things Like New Powersets/Zones/Story Arcs/Etc.

which, imo, was a good call... too many games focus on the 'ooo shiney' and not enough on quality content

It's not like CO ever uses the fingers for anything special.

I'm still waiting on my "giving the bird" emote.

I think gamers everywhere in pretty much every game are still waiting for that emote ^.^

    [I have to]

Sure it does... the devs use the finger every day they don't release more content.

It would be equivalent to a new graphic artist coming into THIS game and trying to make EVERYTHING look realistic.

Occam's Razor makes the cutting clean.

Edit - after watching those videos, one thing that I do find impressive is the real-time reflective surfaces. Definitely looks cool, but a feature I don't imagine is very useful unless you're taking pretty screenshots. Cool nonetheless.

Just wanted to say that I liked playing toons that wore chrome powersuits on City and the real time reflections was the coolest thing ever on those.

City of Heroes Remains by Leandro Pardini

This was his 'farewell' video for the official close... delayed by a hard drive failure. Seems a nice way to wrap up this thread. Sorry for the slight necro.

My last post in this thread.

I left City to go to Champions well over a year ago due to not liking the direction it was going , so its obvious what one I like more in the later years...but I do hope some other company (pokes PWE with the obvious stick ) manages to revive CoX because at the time of it release it was just simply the best game out there.

It should still be up and running :(
