I can only imagine that you were camping Qwyjibo's spawn area in anticipation of the server restart... can't you just do it again when the server goes back up?

Monster Island is between China and Japan , Qwyjibo is region banned.

Probably, since they announced its a rollback to before patch.

So what after the rollback, just tweak the patch and re-release it out on live later today?

So far...a two hour patch has become a three and a half hour (and counting) emergency maintenance. Hurting in the Midwest and East Coast. Can't imagine the wait over seas.

Happens in every game. Players should be used to it by now, but they still yell DOOOOOOM every time. And then they say the game is dead, and they're going back to WoW since no other company knows how to treat customers (or, more recently, going to wait for GW2), etc etc.

Its entertaining to watch the first few hundred times, but it starts to feel like reruns of a bad sitcom after a while.

Oh it was a lot more. She was using her yellow death blossom from full health and using her attacks more frequently. Think even faster cast times on some of them. It was glorious. It was a fight that needed attention. And as I said, I was grinning like a Cheshire the whole time, because I was having fun.

Really!!! Man can't wait to see if its still like that :P

Yes it is. I can tell time. HOWEVER...when Cryptic choose 7-9 am maintenance PST that makes for 9-11 am CST and 10-12 pm EST. Why not patch earlier on the west coast? They don't have flex-time on the job?

Not likely since they are rolling back the patch :frown: And by the time it goes back up she will probably be her normal hum drum self when the patch is ready to go live.

To be fair, it's very possible they could have overtuned the fight as well. Not everyone takes the time to figure out how to break Cryptic Math (again) by causing percent bonuses to increase exponentially based on specialisation points. So what may be 'just right' in difficulty for you may not be the case for a person who just hits the right level for Gravitar and goes "Oh cool, this'll be fun!" It's a readily accessible system. If the design is to make it not as much, then they may as well put an attunement/gating mechanic to separate the people who at least do the work to queue.

As for me? I'll still be queueing every so often to keep everyone alive. I like playing heals. And it makes me feel better that I actually took a resurrection power, heh.

Sorry, this thread was about maintenance, right? Excuse me for going off topic all of a sudden.

Because there is only one server, patching early to west coast will do nothing but lock you out of the server due to difference in code.

although I said I agree with you on the definition of difficulty I NEVER have fun with gravitar.
the reason for that has nothing to do with difficulty and everything to do with sound effects though.

You wouldn't have to worry about the sound effects if you wouldn't where last years outfit into the fight.

All I have to say is that through it all, Gravitar was fun as hell. I would say keep her that way, because I was grinning like a Cheshire at the fact she kept me on my toes in that fight, but I know it will be fixed. You need to have challenges exactly like that in the game. Manageable but requires thinking. She was ignoring the smoke nades which was very welcome, she was using her powers to their utmost, but not so much people couldn't handle it, and she was dangerous. A world class villain should be a very dangerous threat, not something you just sit there and trade blows with, like she has been since release.

Have you seen the player base? Do you know how many random grav pugs are saved by that all beloved smoke nade?

I've watched pugs wipe in less than a minute as I'm one of the last if not the last one standing plugging away.

Most of the squishy ATs are killed in one or two grav hits - its not exactly fun to rez into immediate death again.

It's bad enough gravitar isn't melee friendly - but expecting everyone to be built for high survivability....

I've beaten her a few times without smoke or skarn's, but lets face it, these are pugs. It takes a number of capable individuals to pull grav without either - that's a rarity for CO pugs. I'm well over 300 kills now, the q's are already fading as the waits get longer. There's hardly any incentive to run her as is.

Also, there isn't a single enemy in game that you don't end up sitting there and trading blows with - Every big boss fight is really the same, kill it before it wipes your team(s). It's simply a matter of whittling away a massive amount of HP - even Tak got more HP this time around for bloodmoon.

If there's a healthy demand for this, I can. I wouldn't do it for every time zone, but for Jade Dynasty, I post the times for the West Coast, East Coast, and CEST. Granted, I do that because JD has servers based in those three time zones, but if there's a demand for it in Champs, I can probably make it happen.

Points for Bob Seger, although I do think Metallica did an excellent job covering him. AvX is Avengers vs X-Men, right? How's that going? I've been mostly re-reading older comics (cheaper), so I haven't been up to date with new arcs.

So it's not just a rollback but a rollback and republish? Oof, that could take some time if multiple builds are needed. :frown:

And as for the time zones. No. There is only one server thus only one time zone: Server Time. They need to learn to convert. *ducks*

I thought he said it was just characters and banks that were being rolled back? Either way i'm looking forward to the release notes myself to see what all was going to come out today. Hopefully it still does. If the AT is in, does any one know if the event is in as well as the Become device? or was it just the AT for now?

I actually think the fight was easier for squishies because the bubbles are telegraphed, you know they're coming. The Force Geysers were scaled back... a lot, which made rezing easier, because it wasn't being interrupted, and helped squishies a lot.

Rollback will be purely to right before maintenance, is my understanding.

We will be having release notes for the updated update (once the servers open up), but they will be pretty minimal.

Points for Bob Seger...AvX is Avengers vs X-Men, right? How's that going? I've been mostly re-reading older comics (cheaper), so I haven't been up to date with new arcs.

I've been listening to Bob Seger's "Greatest Hits" for a few days. His music reminds me of a good ole' fashion travelog of "night moves" on two wheelers or sixteen. His sound runs "against the wind" and seems timeless, "still the same." It beckons a reflection on what rock & roll used to be and can still become in our time.

Avenger vs. X-Men...Yes. It's been a good run so far.
