New Event: High Noon at Snake Gulch
Strange happenings are going down in Snake Gulch. Belle Steele has some info, she can be found in the rencen event NPC area. During this event Snake Gulch will become a giant open mission.

Phase 1: Strange Transmissions
Transmitters have popped up all over Snake Gulch, guarded by liberated Cowboy Robots. Shutting down these transmitters will trigger the next phase of the open mission.

Phase 2: Rise of the Machines
Defeat the liberated Mechanon Preacher, keep the transmission towers shut down.
During this phase three towers will become active, heavily guarded by Mechanon robots. While active these towers will provide heavy bonuses to the liberated Mechanon Preacher boss. Players will have to split up and keep the towers shut down. This part of the open mission has a 20 minute timer.

As the Mechanon Preacher's health drops, the towers will be reinforced by tougher and more iconic enemies.

Towers
Tower bonuses will build up in potency over the course of 40 seconds they become active. Shutting down a tower will remove its effects. Towers that are guarded by more than 10 Mechanon robots will emit a low damage aura, preventing players from activating the tower. When a tower is active a red Godbeam will be visible, when inactive it will be blue. There are also color matching drones near the Mechanon Liberator boss, and when their respective tower is active they will emit a pulsing FX.

Mechanon Robot mobs have a respawn timer of 60 seconds, and it takes 8 seconds to trigger a tower. After 30 seconds the tower will reset.

Tower Bonuses:
Red Tower: Increased boss damage and resistance.
Blue: Heavy resistance, dodge, healing and damage debuff on players.
Yellow: Damage aura that takes off a percentage of health every few seconds.

Bosses
The Mechanon Preacher will use missile barrages throughout the fight, if not blocked these will repel you a great distance. His Sonic Screech attack if not avoided holds players, and as his health drops he will start using a static field attack that if not blocked will deplete your energy. His main melee and ranged attacks can be split between two players.

When the Mechanon Preacher drops below 40% health, Liberated Ascii Oakley, Fred C. Dos and Desert Serpent will arrive to guard the towers. Once defeated, these bosses will not respawn.

Crediting
Open mission points are awarded for the following:
  • Dealing damage to enemies.
  • Mezzing Tower defenders.
  • Shutting down Transmitters/Towers.
  • Healing.
  • Mechanon Liberatorator's focused attacks.

First things first, let me express my dissapointment that we didn't got SINGLE-PISTOL powers...
because if anything this was the perfect timing for them, come on guys, Dual Pistols are cool, but people want Single Pistols too

Some of these changes just seem to be change for the sake of change. AR was fine where it was, and NttG on 2gm had its uses.

SMG didn't need to be nerfed either, it was fine hitting 5 targets by default.

It depends on what happened to the powers. The Soldier may get a forced retcon due to Assault Rifle moving up a tier, and therefor becoming an invalid power, where the Blade should receive a free respec (not forced, should show as Free: Yes in the respec window) as none of their powers were made invalid.

It'd be super if all of these load screens were uploaded to the media section as either high res art or wallpaper. Waste of the artist's time to make something nice that you see for three months before is disappears forever.

Bound on character Emotes... NOT EVEN ONCE

    Not listed here:
Eye of the Storm has a new ADV
Cut to Shreds, 10% chance to apply shredded to targets in every hit

thats an interesting addition for Specialist synergies
    Two Gun Mojo
Removed Nailed to the Ground advantage.
    Returned back to single target.
Close the Gap: This advantage actually capped out at 28.5% bonus damage if you were 0 ft away from a target (which isn't terribly possible). It's been adjusted to hit its 30% cap at 7ft.
New Advantage: Turns the power into a cylinder attack.

Thank you very much for turning TGM back into a Single target attack and reducing the energy Cost

DEVs you need to admire that the previous TGM change was terrible
there was absolutly no reason to make it a AoE in the first place when Dual pistols already have 2 excellent AoEs (lead tempest and Breakaway shot)
Not to mention the insane energy managment issues, it was terrible for levelin up, im glad it changed to better now

Random proofreading for the Gunslinger's description:

The Gunslinger has short to mid-range attacks. You can build up stacks of "Furious" which can be used to temporarily increase your critical chance and recover some health when hit. Your intimidating presence can also put fear in their enemies.

Straight from second person to third person? :dissapointed:

PS: If anyone could tell me the gunslinger's specializations (besides dex of course) that'd be fantastic. Thanks!

Okay boys and girls, character bound emotes are a thing now. We've had that as part of an event, we've also had vehicles bound to a character as part of an event, but now we're expected to pay money for the chance to get an emote that's only usable on one character. I cannot express how disappointed I am with this decision. Character bound costume parts are next. There's no reason that this won't happen now.

The new event is kinda disappointing.

It's BS that I can get yanked around by mobs but my Particle Wave doesn't do jack. The mobs at the towers are spaced far enough apart to basically say "F You" to melee and can't be clumped up. Battling Liberated Giant Robot NO. 89483 sucks. At least hanging out at the tower, I don't keel over all the time. Oh, Grond can show up and knock you around even more than just the robot chumps.

Team Up apparently has issues... Like not actually teaming up with anyone even remotely near you. Which basically makes it useless.

Getting only 10 Snake Bucks blows. Oh, and that whole thing with consolidating currencies only to now decided to re-use those currencies like this was a dick thing to do. I had a character with a bunch of Snake Bucks I turned into whatever crap currency I didn't need since I thought the SBs were useless only to now not have any SB that I could have spent on something.

The tower respawns at the end are too fast. It's aggravating to have all of these widely spaced out mobs that can't be clumped together AND the mini-boss to deal with.

The first time I tried the event, Liberated Giant Robot NO. 89482 reset to full HP towards the end.

The Specialist can be a melee toon or a gimpy ranged toon. Nice to know if I wanted a Bullet Beatdown premium AT I can now re-buy it as the Gunslinger.

EDIT: The "more" button is ugly and pointless since it does the exact same thing as the fist icon on the minimap.

Here's my actual feedback: YOU @kaizerin, made the game great, again. And this is coming from an AT player's perspective. And i'd like to say thanks. I have nothing more to add.

    Peace!

Don't get snake bucks for drifter salvage. Just spent 15 salvage for nothing. Any chance at some reimbursement?

someone in game helped. They are an item in the inventory first.. why doesn't it just go into the wallet? Kind of stupid.

I actually had a pretty good time in the Desert this afternoon. Grond showed up a few times -- which was actually kind of amusing. Snake Bucks accumulation is a bit slow.... I wouldn't mind seeing the amount given doubled to 20 instead of 10.

I checked. It's actually a new currency with the same name.

Why you do those ridiculous things? It's disgusting like hell.

I am seriously disappointed. 2GM as an AoE now costs you overall damage potential, and is a mediocre cylinder. Munition Specialists other AoE option is Lead Tempest, which is messy and unfocused. Bullet Beatdown was a wonderful ability that synergized with The Specialist's mixed melee and muni build to perfection. Conversely, as a power option on a ranged AT, BB makes no sense. Typically, a melee or PB ability on a ranged toon is taken because of it's countermeasures (like Pistol Whip's stun) so you can return to range. BB offers no such advantage, it is inherently gimped on The Gunslinger, and is a TRAP.

In other news, this event is absurdly difficult. At high-traffic tmes of day, getting it done is possible, but I just spent 3 hours trying to get a complete, with about 30 people in zone... no success. Events should be a balance of FUN and Challenge. This event takes too long (not fun), even with healers is a deadly affair (not fun), and has pathetic rewards for all that effort (insulting and not fun).

Also, the next time you decide to roll out a bunch of power changes and force respecs on toons, could you do it about a week before the big event drops, so we have a chance to break in our new builds?

    Well, it's a bittersweet moment.

On the one hand, the game itself has gotten worse.

On the other hand, I now have one of the strongest characters in the game that isn't exploiting a gamebreaker.

So, good for me, bad for most other people.

I'll reserve judgement on the event until I've tried it. Hopefully it'll be fun.

The Unleashed needs a forced retcon. The fact that it can forego changing its powers means that it's effectively two classes now: Legacy Unleashed and New Unleashed.

The custom colors for the Unleashed are also pretty close to what Blue Thrust needs, so that's nice, too.

I ran the event on two AT's. A level 40 Soldier with Heroic Gear and a Level 35 Unleashed with Questionite Gear (Samurai).

Guess which AT did demonstrably better --- The Unleashed!

Both AT's completed the daily pretty easily -- but the Soldier died so much more than the Unleashed. Which is surprising since it had almost 2k more HP than the Unleashed did. The Unleashed put out a serious amount of damage -- even with it's gimpy gear. I didn't experience any horrible failures on either. There were a few times the timer ran out before the Liberated BOT became defeated.. but successes far outweighed defeats.....

But that might have been because Kagami the Magical Catgirl was there.. with her amazing dps.

Note: I <3 the new loading screen very super heroic!

Bug / Live Sub-Bosses Serpent and Fred are level 40's not scary monster (Ascii is correct)

Suggestion / Live Static field lingers for a long time, suggest white bubble exists during duration. This is probably the cause for a lot of the unexplained deaths. Very easy to run back into area without warning bubble, but with field active due to length

you get a free retcon with power changes.
items to change from at to ff are retrain tokens, if you are gold you get a freebie per character, otherwise they are in zen store

This power is still listed as a Buff, but it no longer provides any buff.

especially if items are character bound and the the event is tailored to a specific theme... "woohoo wild west event... woohoo (character bound) wild west items!... aw crap, gotta rebuild my toon cause you redid all his wild west powers"

so instead of enjoying playing Cowboy Bob in a wild west event for items he could actually use, he's stuck in the PH trying to figure out how to be rebuilt...

    I'm LOVING the new Ultimate
Some people hate the Showdown's goofy animation but I absolutly LOVE IT!

The range, the damage, the ENDING animation! everything about this ultimate is perfect :heart::heart::heart::heart: the animation especially when you play with your pistols is so darn CHARMING, I have spend a lot of time inside power house only to see it again and again
it's also REALLY useful for the event for taking down the trash

as for my opinion for the event so far... MEH
im not really interesting in anything in the vendor neither and the whole fight is a big Cluster*****

The Liberator fight feels woefully overtuned. That knock is ridiculous.

Credit where it's due, if the numbers weren't so overkill it'd be a fun fight mechanically.

Yes! The fight could be a lot of fun, but the challenge is so high, unless you are on during peak-hours, it's a lot of dying and failing.
